Dominic Moore checks in from his building's basement utility closet to talk about his role as this year's Hockey Fights Cancer ambassador. The Former NHL forward seeks to raise awareness of rare cancers in tribute to first wife and he talks about the honor of taking on the role, what it means to him and why his foundation and "Smashfest" event has resonated with current and former NHL players (3:00). He shares a few "Smashfest" stories, including the ultra competitive nature of Marty St. Louis and the desire of Max Domi to showcase his ping pong skills. Moore goes on to discuss the leadership qualities of Adam Fox and the unique style that he plays (15:00). He is also asked if Fox would be a good captain choice for the New York Rangers. Moore is a Toronto native, does he have sympathy for Maple Leafs as they go through a rough start to the season? What does he think is the biggest issue surrounding the Leafs? (26:00). Dominic Moore was the 95th overall pick of the New York Rangers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, He played close to 900 games in the NHL for the Ny Rangers Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, Florida Panthers, Montreal Canadiens, Tampa Bay Lightning, San Jose Sharks and Boston Bruins. He won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2013-14 season, the trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey.That season his goal in game 6 of the Eastern conference final was the only goal scored sent the Rangers to the Stanley Cup finals he is s currently an analyst for ESPN. This past Wednesday, NHL player Dominic Moore hosted his 7th annual Smashfest Table Tennis tournament at the Steamwhistle Brewery in downtown Toronto! Dominic met with the media before things got going, Smashfest has raised over $500,000 for rare cancer and concussion research.

Dominic Moore was the third round, 95th overall selection of the New York Rangers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, he was a stand out Harvard where over four seasons he scored 64-goals 83 assisits-for 147 points. He was named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team (2003), NCAA East All-Regional Team (2002-03), All Ivy-League (2002-03), earned Honourable Mention All-ECAC and Second Team All-Ivy (2001-02),he was on the ECAC All-Rookie Team and was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and All-Ivy League Second Team All-Star (99-2000). He made his NHL debut with the Rangers incredibly 15 years ago. He was a key part of the Rangers 2014 playoff run, this week he will be hosting the 7th annual Smashfest which To date has raised over $665,000 in support of concussion and rare cancer research. He was the fastest male out of the water on this day. He won the overall age group race by a mere 26 seconds. Dylan is being coached by Haley Chura who won the Professional division here at this race. Dylan has some very exciting news that he was able to share for the first time on this podcast. While he finishes just seconds ahead of second place, he did win the race and that feeling was quite emotional for not only him, but his wife.
