PlayStation 5 has officially turned five, giving us much to reflect upon. Has the console lived up to its potential, left folks disappointed, or fallen somewhere in between? We get into that -- alongside new Sony financials that paint an admittedly rosy picture -- before getting into the meat of our show. Two new Sony-aligned games have been revealed, but they've left many potential players puzzled, as neither offering is actually on PlayStation hardware. For starters, NCSoft's long-rumored Horizon MMO is real. It's called Steel Frontiers and it actually looks really nice. But it's only on PC and mobile. Meanwhile, a new Ratchet & Clank game has also been showcased, an online arena shooter called Ranger Rumble. But it too eschews PS5 and PS4, instead going straight to mobile platforms only. What gives? Why does Sony seem half-in on these off-platform initiatives, all the while neglecting their core audience that could give these respective titles the boost they need? Is it time for them to break old habits and embrace a more cogent multiplatform direction that centers PlayStation first and foremost? Sometimes it can be pretty amazing how one small decision can have a huge impact.   Mike Jaffe knows about that.   Mike was usually on his way to work in the morning when his wife, Sabrina, woke up their one year old daughter. He was also on his way home from work when Sabrina was putting her to bed.   But one Monday morning, he decided that the next day, Tuesday, he would go in to work late so that they could all have breakfast together.   On Tuesday morning, he was having second thoughts. This job was important to him. But he decided to stick to the plan, and they had a nice family breakfast together that morning.   That breakfast saved Mike's life.   He worked on the 96th floor of the World Trade Center's north tower, and that Tuesday morning breakfast was September 11, 2001. Hundreds of his colleagues were already at work and did not survive.   My guest today is Hannah. A lot of weird things can happen when you work in a retail store.   You can ask anyone who's worked retail for a while, and they will have some stories. My daughter worked at a popular clothing store for a while here in Florida. She worked mostly around the fitting rooms. And she was constantly amazed – and annoyed – at the things people would do in those little rooms where you try on clothes. Oh yeah, some people would just leave the place a big mess. But there were other customers who took it a step further – and whatever you're imagining right now, you're probably correct.   But what if you're working in a retail environment, just a regular day, and you turn around and see a man with a gun pointed at you? How do you think you would react?   Jen knows exactly what she would do, because that's exactly what happened to her one day at work.   Jen told this story on the podcast more than 3 years ago, which means this is a Flashback episode. When you meet someone for the first time, do you trust them by default?   I like to think that I just assume the best of a stranger, until they prove they aren't worthy of my trust. But that can be dangerous in some cases.   There were a couple of people who were partners in a business and they were looking for office space to rent. They searched online and found an ad for what looked like the perfect space. They met the owner there and he showed them around. They paid him first and last month's rent using Venmo, and planned to sign the lease agreement the next day.   They got the keys and moved everything in. But they never heard from the owner again. After a couple of days they still weren't able to reach him. Then the next day, the ACTUAL owner showed up, asking who they were any why they had moved all their stuff in, since he was planning to lease the space out soon.   The original fake owner was a disgruntled employee. He made out with a few thousand dollars, handed over the keys, and disappeared. But that whole scam hinged on trust.   My guest today is Tessi. She lives in Montana but was traveling outside the US.
