District and Circuit Court judges are in more or less open revolt over the Supreme Court's abuse of the shadow docket. Perhaps Justice Gorsuch shouldn't have implied that they were all stupid and insubordinate for failing to read his mind! The Trump administration insists it's very cool and very legal to deport immigrant children in the middle of the night so long as it's Health and Human Services doing the deporting. Will Judge Tim Kelly agree? And Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are back to teach us civil procedure. Sanctions, anyone? Links: Ronny Jackson v. Brendan Gunn is set to host tonight's show, kicking off with a discussion about the upcoming Mets vs. Phillies series starting this Monday. He expresses curiosity about what insights can be gleaned from this matchup, especially with Trea Turner and Alec Bohm both on the injured list. Additionally, Brendan highlights Aaron Nola's presence on the mound, noting his inconsistency this season and questioning whether he can regain the trust of fans and the organization. The segment also features audio from Tim Kelly of OnPattison, who provides further commentary on the Phillies. Shifting focus, Brendan explores the mental resilience of the Eagles, particularly in light of AJ Brown's subdued performance in Week 1, which improved significantly towards the game's conclusion. He attributes this determination to a message from head coach Nick Sirianni, and the show includes highlights from Sirianni's press conference earlier in the day.
(00:00-11:42) – A second opinion on the Eagles game from Thursday. (11:42-21:36) – Looking ahead at the Eagles game on Sunday against the Chiefs, and Tim Kelly joins the show to talk about the upcoming Phillies series against the Mets and other topics. (21:36-29:02) – Connor’s 3 observations from Week 1. (29:02-44:32) – Checking the text line for the final time of the day and the Key 3 wraps up the show.

Donna Adelson Trial — Tim Kelly (Realtor) Says Family Looked at Tallahassee Homes In this raw courtroom clip from the Donna Adelson Trial, Tallahassee realtor Tim Kelly takes the stand and lays out a detail the defense wants front and center: back in 2011, he showed homes to Donna and Harvey Adelson—appointments he says were set up at Dan Markel's request. Kelly methodically explains when the showings happened, the neighborhoods he toured with the Adelsons, and the ordinary, practical tone of those conversations. It's not flashy testimony, but it's the kind that makes jurors pause: if Donna and Harvey were considering a move to Tallahassee years before Markel's 2014 murder, how does that square with the state's theory that the family was fixated on getting Wendi and the kids out of Tallahassee? Why it matters: motive. Prosecutors have framed this case around family conflict, relocation pressures, and control. Kelly's testimony can't rewrite the larger timeline—but it complicates it. The defense is using him to suggest the Adelsons' priorities weren't a one-way street. If jurors conclude the family at one time explored living near Markel instead of removing the children from him, that nuance could seed reasonable doubt around the state's overarching motive story. Watch for the specifics: who contacted whom (Kelly says Markel), how the showings unfolded, and how the search ultimately fizzled. The defense is aiming for a simple takeaway—this was normal family logistics, not a breadcrumb trail toward violence. The prosecution, for its part, will argue the 2011 showings are a blip with little bearing on the decisions and communications that followed years later. Bottom line: Kelly adds a quiet but strategic brick to the defense wall. It's not the kind of testimony that makes headlines, but it's exactly the kind that jurors revisit when they're sorting motive from speculation. #hashtags #DonnaAdelsonTrial #DanMarkel #TimKelly #TrueCrime #Tallahassee #MurderForHire #Courtroom #TrialUpdate #LegalAnalysis Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? America needs leaders. And leaders are in short supply. That seems to be the case in Washington at least. Whether it's Pete Hegseth's ongoing hateful attacks on the LGBTQ service members under his command or his self aggrandizing ad or the ongoing chaos at the Pentagon, none of it is efficient and none of it is making any of us any safer. America needs leaders. They're out there. And more and more frequently they aren't claiming either political party. Independent leaders we've profiled in recent episodes. Independent leaders like Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade, independent candidate for Senate from South Dakota Brian Bengs, Independent candidate for Mayor of New York Jim Walden. The future is independent—and chances are good that you're going to hear from those leaders of the future here, first. That includes Chattanooga, Tennessee Mayor Tim Kelly. He's just gotten reelected for a second term by a huge margin. And that's in large part because he's getting hard things done. Housing, crime, community relations and making the trains run on time. And, fixing potholes! He's also bringing business, international sports and excitement to this important crossroads American city. Much of what Kelly had been doing and saying in Chattanooga could be a model for the rest of America. And he could be running for higher office one day down the line. Welcome to Independent Americans, Episode 337. Every episode of Independent Americans is independent light to contrast the heat of other politics and news shows. It's content for the 49% of Americans that call themselves independent. Always with a unique focus on national security, foreign affairs and military and vets issues. This week we take a look at the studio catalog of 90's band Slaughter. Formed in 1988 by ex Vinnie Vincent Invasion members Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum, the duo recruited guitarist Tim Kelly and drummer Blas Elias before getting to work on their 1990 debut album 'Stick it to Ya.' Riding high on the success of singles such as 'Up All Night' and 'Fly to the Angels,' the album sold well and secured the band a slot on KISS' 'Hot in the Shade' tour. 1992's followup album 'The Wild Life' would show solid sales but telltale signs of a tide shift in the music business. Without major label backing, Slaughter would go on to release 3 albums for independent label CMC Records; 1995's 'Fear No Evil,' 1997's 'Revoluion,' and 1999's 'Back to Reality.' Mark Slaughter would go on to record two solo albums; 2015's 'Reflections in a Rear View Mirror' and 2017's 'Halfway There' but Slaughter remains out of the studio. Will that change? Only time will tell. This week we pick our "best" and "worst" song from each Slaughter studio album. Joining us this time is Marc Alden Taylor of the Free Form Rock podcast. Check them out at https://scifimarc5150.podbean.com/ Tell us in the comments what song choices YOU would have made! We hope you enjoy The Best and Worst of Slaughter and SHARE with a friend!
