Dick Tracy is one of the toughest and best police officers in the city. He is on the hunt for the biggest crime boss named Big Boy Caprice who recently killed off the former crime boss, Lips Manless. Tracy is faced with a lot of issues. Besides tracking down Big Boy, he must try and keep his girlfriend, Tess Trueheart, take care of a nameless orphan, dodge a seductive nightclub dance, Breathless Mahoney, and a mysterious gangster named "The Blank."

The plot of "The Silken Rope Of Death" fails, as does a plan to trick Dick into giving up the pearl. A meeting of the "Dick Tracy Secret Service Patrol" is held: a big surprise is coming! The system cue has been deleted. The Black Pearl of Osiris, its theft is Dick Tracy's latest case, was found concealed in a bullet which was fired in to the leg of the great detective. Tracy now carries that pearl in his secret compartment ring which was given to him by Hummi Batique a member of the Osiris cult. Yesterday Remo a member of the society trying to get the black pearl lay hidden in the back of Tracy's car while he drove to Tess Truehearts apartment. Will Remo succeed in his plan to overpower Dick Tracy? Tracy is just pulling up outside the apartment of Tess Trueheart.

The identity of "The Purple Rider" is revealed. Professor Shelby asks Tess Trueheart for help from Dick Tracy. After he'd invented something valuable, Prof. Shelby's life has been threatened by, "The Brain." Tracy shames the citizens of Pitchblende in the Yukon, to testify against Vernon Kyle. Kyle intercepts a letter from Tess to Tracy. A meeting of "The Dick Tracy Secret Service Patrol" is held. Today is "Badge Day."
