We conclude our 'off the beaten path' movie category with Michael Cain's first major movie, Zulu. In 1879, the Zulu nation hands colonial British forces a resounding defeat in battle. A nearby regiment of the British Army takes over a station run by a missionary (Jack Hawkins) and his daughter (Ulla Jacobsson) as a supply depot and hospital under the command of Lieutenant John Chard (Stanley Baker) and his subordinate Gonville Bromhead (Michael Caine). On this week's episode we discuss Christian Bales first movie as prepubescent Jamie Graham, a privileged English boy, who is living in Shanghai when the Japanese invade and force all foreigners into prison camps. Jamie is captured with an American sailor named Basie (John Malkovich), who looks out for him while they are in the camp together. Even though he is separated from his parents and in a hostile environment, Jamie maintains his dignity and youthful spirits, providing a beacon of hope for the others held captive with him. We are taking a break from comedies and action movie and start a stretch of reviewing older movie classics across the decades. We kick off our first episode of this theme with a classic thriller movie, The Omen. American diplomat Robert (Gregory Peck) adopts Damien when his wife, Katherine, delivers a stillborn child. This week we discuss this classic dark comedy. Though the story and comedy is dumb, it still works and will make you laugh. Over the top yet straight to the point! Richard (Jonathan Silverman) and Larry (Andrew McCarthy) are invited by their boss, Bernie (Terry Kiser), to stay the weekend at his beach house in the Hampton's. Little do they know that Bernie is the culprit of a fraud they've uncovered and is arranging to have them killed. The plan backfires and Bernie is killed instead by the hit man. The guys tackle this weeks episode about Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) and his brothers, Morgan (Bill Paxton) and Virgil (Sam Elliott), who settle down and start a business in the town of Tombstone, AZ. While they aren't looking to find trouble, trouble soon finds them when they become targets of the ruthless Cowboy gang. Together with Wyatt's best friend, Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer), they look to restore order to a lawless land.
Vietnam veteran and drifter John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) wanders into a small Washington town in search of an old friend, but is met with intolerance and brutality by the local sheriff, Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy). When Teasle and his deputies restrain and shave Rambo, he flashes back to his time as a prisoner of war and unleashes his fury on the officers. Best Thanksgiving movie ever!! The guys kick off the holiday season with this timeless classic. Easily excitable Neal Page (Steve Martin) is somewhat of a control freak. Trying to get home to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his wife and kids, his flight is rerouted to a distant city in Kansas because of a snowstorm, and his sanity begins to fray. Worse yet, he is forced to bunk up with talkative Del Griffith (John Candy), whom he finds extremely annoying. Together they must overcome the insanity of holiday travel to reach their intended destination.
The guys have a good chuckle fest over this movie that kick started Arnolds career in action movies. Retired Special Forces soldier John Matrix (Arnold Schwarzenegger) lives with daughter Jenny (Alyssa Milano) in isolation, but his privacy is disturbed by former commander Franklin Kirby (James Olson), who warns him that his fellow soldiers are getting killed one by one. After Kirby leaves, Jenny is kidnapped by former Latin American dictator Arius (Dan Hedaya), who wants Matrix to restore him to power. Instead, Matrix sets out to take down the rogue leader and rescue his daughter.

But he soon discovers he may actually have a talent for playing an entirely different sport: golf. On this episode to kick off the season of Halloween movies, Bill's sister, Stephanie, joins us to talk about this classic Halloween movie. After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison (Omri Katz) explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani (Thora Birch) and their new friend, Allison (Vinessa Shaw). After dismissing a story Allison tells as superstitious, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy) who used to live in the house. The film takes a look at one single Friday in the life of two friends, Craig Jones (Ice Cube) and Smokey (Chris Tucker), in South Central LA. Craig has recently been fired from his job while attempting to collect his wages, as he was allegedly caught on camera stealing cardboard boxes from UPS, although he claims innocence. Throughout the day, friends and local neighborhood characters pass through, including the hulking neighborhood bully Deebo (Tommy Lister, Jr.). The film's subplot focuses on drug dealer Big Worm (Faizon Love), who warns Craig and Smokey to collect $200 worth of marijuana they smoked (which was supposed to be sold) no later than 10:00 that evening, or Craig and Smokey will be killed. When their frustrated director (Steve Coogan) drops them in the middle of a jungle, they are forced to rely on their acting skills to survive the real action and danger.
