Have you ever found yourself trying to outrun grief? That's what Camila Crews did when she was 19 and her mother died. Twenty years later, following the heartbreaking disappearance and death of her father, Camila stopped running and started feeling. Unable to just keep pushing through, she had to face her grief and learn how to care for herself in the process.  Facing her grief inspired Camila to start Sorry for Your Loss (Cards), an initiative to help people better understand grief and show up for those who are mourning. Centering the experiences of Black and Brown communities, Sorry for Your Loss (Cards) provides workshops, cards, resources, and community experiences designed to decrease the isolation that so often accompanies grief.  We discuss: The fiery, creative energy Camila's parents shared  Losing her mother twice: first as a child when her mother moved away, and then as a young adult when she died  The instinct to just keep moving forward after her mother's death  Having to slow down and finally face grief after her father was killed  Living with the unanswered questions surrounding her father's disappearance and presumed death  The vital importance of culturally specific grief resources  Finding connection with other people who are grieving  The origin of Sorry for Your Loss (Cards) and Camila's commitment to helping others understand grief  Camila A. Crews builds tools, experiences, and cultural conversations that help people show up for grief in real, tangible ways. After losing both of her parents over the course of two decades, she experienced firsthand how lonely grief can feel and how often people want to support others but don't know how. The purpose of Sorry For Your Loss is to help people get familiar with grief before it overwhelms them or someone they love. Since founding Sorry For Your Loss, Camila has developed therapist endorsed grief support tools and facilitated workshops based on her frameworks at wellness and mental health summits. Before building her own platform, Camila held public relations leadership roles shaping multicultural campaigns for global brands including Apple TV+, Netflix, and Universal Pictures. She blends storytelling, empathy, and lived experience to create meaningful tools for grief, connection, and community.  Follow on IG - @sorryforyourlosscards

GIMME THAT STARFOX MOVIE! - Super Mario Galaxy Full Movie Watch Along:   / thereelrejects   The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Animated Movie Reaction & Breakdown with Greg Alba, Andrew Gordon, Jon Maturan, and John Humphrey! With the absolute massive box office success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie setting up a fast-paced multiverse, Nintendo, Universal Pictures, and Illumination Studios Paris have returned to the cosmos for the biggest event of the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary celebration: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Support The Channel By Getting Some REEL REJECTS Apparel! https://www.rejectnationshop.com/ In this full Super Mario Galaxy movie reaction, the Reel Rejects crew dives deep into the incredible, fast-paced world building and jaw-dropping computer graphics of Illumination's latest video game adaptation masterpiece. We break down the massive ensemble cast, including Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Lego Movie) returning as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen's Gambit, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga) as Princess Peach, and Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Pacific Rim) reprising his role as Luigi. We also check out the massive new cast additions, including Brie Larson (Captain Marvel, Room) as outer-space princess Rosalina, Donald Glover (Atlanta, Solo: A Star Wars Story) bringing the iconic Yoshi to life, and Benny Safdie (Oppenheimer, Uncut Gems) as the unhinged, approval-seeking Bowser Jr. Our hosts break down all the chaotic, sensory-overload action sequences, the mind-blowing transitions from 2D tribute animation back into full 3D models, and the amazing orchestral score by composer Brian Tyler. From the introduction of the Boomsday weapon and Bowser Jr.'s paintbrush mechanics to the unforgettable Star Fox crossover sequence featuring Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You) as Fox McCloud flying the Arwing, this movie gave our hosts plenty to unpack. We also discuss the unexpected father-son dynamics between Jack Black's (School of Rock, Kung Fu Panda) King Bowser and Bowser Jr., the pixel pinñata party, the Honeyhive Galaxy run featuring Issa Rae (Barbie) as the Honey Queen, Luis Guzmán (Wednesday) as Wart at the GameCube roulette casino table, and that incredible Terminator 2 homage ending with Lava Bowser becoming the Skull King. As we dissect the mixed critic reviews versus the massive audience score, we're asking: is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie better than the first film? Does the bare minimum of storytelling work when a movie completely understands its experiential assignment? And are we officially getting a full-blown Super Smash Bros. cinematic universe? Australian filmmaker Chris Sun has spent over 15 years building a reputation in the horror world crafting brutal, unforgettable films like Daddy's Little Girl, Charlie's Farm and BOAR. Now, he's turning that same cinematic intensity toward a new frontier: music videos. With the launch of Sun Entertainment, Chris is stepping into the global music scene with one clear mission — to give artists bold, high-impact visuals that cut through the noise. What started as a small, passionate setup with his son Kyle has rapidly evolved into a full-scale production powerhouse. Today, Sun Entertainment is backed by a team of producers, editors, set builders, and creative artists, many of whom have worked alongside Chris on his feature films. The result? A crew that knows how to bring big-screen energy into the world of music.“We want to be able to shoot incredible music videos at almost any budget level,” Sun explains. “From simple performance shoots to full cinematic story-driven productions it all comes down to the artists' budget and how far they want to push it. We'll meet them there.”That flexibility is a huge part of what sets Sun Entertainment apart from other production companies. While many directors lock into one style or genre, Chris is flipping that idea on its head. Despite his horror roots, he's making it clear this is about all music. All artists. All visions.“I'm not here just to shoot horror-style clips,” he says. “If you've got a song and a vision, I want to bring it to life no matter the genre.”Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

pWotD Episode 3279: Michael (2026 film) Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 251,066 views on Friday, 24 April 2026 our article of the day is Michael (2026 film).Michael is a 2026 American biographical film directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan. It follows the life of the American singer Michael Jackson, covering his involvement in the Jackson 5 in the 1960s to the 1980s Bad tour. Jackson is portrayed by his nephew Jaafar Jackson and as a child by Juliano Krue Valdi, both in their film debuts. The supporting cast includes Nia Long, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Jessica Sula, Mike Myers, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo.Development began in November 2019, when it was reported that the producer Graham King had secured the rights to produce a film about Jackson, with Logan attached to write. Lionsgate Films announced the film in February 2022. Fuqua was announced as the director in January 2023, and casting began that month when Jaafar was cast; further casting took place from January to April 2024. After delays caused by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, filming took place between January and May 2024. After a clause was discovered in a legal settlement, references to the 1993 child sexual abuse allegations against Jackson were removed, the third act was revised, and reshoots took place in June 2025. Studios including Industrial Light & Magic provided the visual effects. The first trailer, released in November 2024, became the most viewed for any musical biopic or concert film. Michael premiered in Berlin on April 10, 2026, and was released on April 24 by Lionsgate in the US and by Universal Pictures in other territories. It received generally negative reviews; critics praised Jaafar Jackson's performance but criticized the story as "sanitized". It has grossed $31 million. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 04:25 UTC on Saturday, 25 April 2026.For the full current version of the article, see Michael (2026 film) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Arthur.

This week, we discuss the Coen Brothers' stylish satire of the Golden Age of Hollywood, Hail, Caesar!SPOILER ALERT We will be talking about this movie in its entirety, including the mystery of "The Future" and the ultimate resolution of Baird Whitlock's kidnapping. If you haven't seen this film, we strongly suggest you watch it before listening to our takes.A Universal Pictures and Working Title Films production. Released on February 5, 2016. Directed, written, produced, and edited by Joel and Ethan Coen. Starring Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, and Channing Tatum. Cinematography by Roger Deakins. Music by Carter Burwell. The story follows a single, chaotic day in the life of Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), a "fixer" for Capitol Pictures in 1951. Mannix spends his days (and nights) suppressing scandals and managing the fragile egos of the studio's stars. His world is thrown into disarray when the studio's biggest star, Baird Whitlock (George Clooney), is kidnapped from the set of the prestige Roman epic Hail, Caesar! Tales of the Christ by a mysterious group calling themselves "The Future." As Mannix juggles a pregnant starlet's image, a singing cowboy's transition into high-society drama, and a persistent pair of rival gossip columnists (both played by Tilda Swinton), he must also weigh a lucrative, low-stress job offer from Lockheed against his grueling but soul-stirring devotion to the magic of the movies.

Bea and Dan are joined once again by Kristen who shares the process behind our newest exhibit A Fast & Furious Legacy: 25 Years of Automotive IconsThe Fast and the Furious debuted in 2001, launching one of Universal Pictures' most lucrative film franchises. It follows undercover cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) through the streets of Los Angeles as he infiltrates a community of underground street racers led by Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez). Characterized by exciting chase sequences, extreme stunts, and endearingly melodramatic dialogue, the Fast & Furious franchise allows audiences to experience, if only briefly, the adrenaline-fueled worlds of urban street racing and performance driving. Over the next quarter-century, Fast & Furious would grow into a cultural institution, encompassing 11 films and grossing more than $7 billion worldwide. Its ever-evolving storylines would take the Toretto family around the world (and beyond), in nearly every type of car imaginable. This exhibition, marking the 25th anniversary of the first film, highlights the nitrous-injected world of Fast & Furious with a selection of screen-used vehicles and production prototypes that represent the series' most iconic builds and the franchise that celebrates a legacy of living “a quarter mile at a time.”Exhibition Supported by Universal Pictures.

Link to Audio version “The Bat” is a short horror monologue recorded by Bela Lugosi, built around his spoken persona rather than a conventional plot. In it he addresses the listener directly and describes the bat as a creature of night and hush, a watcher at windows and eaves, half in the natural world and half in something older and less defined. The piece is more mood than story: a sequence of images about darkness, wings, and unease, letting pauses and emphases do most of the work.  After arriving in the United States as a stateless immigrant in 1920, Lugosi struggled with the English language, often memorising his lines phonetically. His big break came in 1927 when he was cast as the lead in the Broadway production of Dracula. His performance was so magnetic that Universal Pictures cast him in the 1931 film adaptation. Lugosi's portrayal—characterised by his slow, melodic Hungarian accent, intense gaze, and formal evening wear—transformed the vampire from a finished, rat-like monster into a seductive, sophisticated villain. This performance became the template for every vampire depiction that followed. While Dracula made him a superstar, it also trapped him. Lugosi found it nearly impossible to land roles outside of the horror genre. The Rivalry: He was frequently paired with Boris Karloff (who played Frankenstein's monster), though Karloff often received higher billing and better pay, which reportedly frustrated Lugosi. The Roles: He gave notable performances in White Zombie (1932), The Black Cat (1934), and as the broken-necked Ygor in Son of Frankenstein (1939). Health Struggles: Chronic sciatica led to a severe dependency on painkillers. As his health declined and his "classic" style of horror fell out of fashion, he found himself relegated to low-budget "B-movies." In the 1950s, Lugosi experienced a strange career coda through his friendship with cult director Ed Wood. He appeared in films now famous for being "so bad they're good," such as Glen or Glenda and Plan 9 from Outer Space (released posthumously). Lugosi passed away in 1956 at the age of 73. In a final tribute to the role that defined him, he was buried in his full Dracula cape at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California. Despite his difficult later years, he remains one of the most recognisable and influential icons in cinema history.

Tove's path to filmmaking is a unique one—from working as a featured extra on the 1989 film The Handmaid's Tale to developing projects with legendary producer and former Universal Pictures president Thom Mount. Inspired by the twist endings of O. Henry and the suspense of The Twilight Zone, Tove crafted Yard Saleing as a haunting mystery about curiosity, secrets, and consequences. Last week Lucasfilm announced that Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from her role as studio president, a position she has held since Disney's 2012 acquisition. Succeeding her are George Lucas' protégé and Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni, who will oversee the franchise's creative direction as co-president alongside former Lucasfilm General Manager Lynwen Brennan handling the business side of things. Kennedy still has an active hand as an executive producer of both Star War's next theatrical offerings: May's The Mandalorian & Grogu as well as 2027's Starfighter and will continue to produce other projects independently. Kennedy's tenure saw its fair share of highs and lows, especially contending with an often fickle fandom, but with multibillion dollar films under her belt her exit marks the end of an era.It was a surprisingly noteworthy MLK weekend box office– outside of Avatar: Fire & Ash's continuing reign, Marty Supreme became A24's top-performing film of all time with 80 million dollars domestically, surpassing Everything Everywhere All at Once, while Zootopia 2 became the highest-grossing animated film of all time globally with over 1.7 billion dollars, passing Inside Out 2. Meanwhile, Nia DaCosta's 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple opened below expectations with just 15 million dollars over the four-day weekend, falling well short of the 30-million-dollar debut of its predecessor and behind tracking projections of 20 million dollars. Despite the horror sequel's muted debut, it's been an unusually robust box office this January.Netflix has revised its $83 billion dollar deal for Warner Bros. Discovery to an all-cash transaction valued at $27.75 dollars per share, simplifying the structure to provide greater certainty of value for shareholders and accelerate the path to a shareholder vote by April. "Wicked: For Good" is a musical fantasy sequel directed by Jon M. Chu that adapts the second act of the "Wicked" stage musical, itself inspired by Gregory Maguire's reimagining of "The Wizard of Oz." Starring returning cast members Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, and others, the film follows Elphaba and Glinda as they embrace their identities as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. Developed over a decade and split into two films to preserve the story's depth, production faced delays due to the pandemic and the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Released by Universal Pictures in November 2025, the film grossed $523 million worldwide, earned awards recognition from the Critics' Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, and was named one of the top ten films of the year by both the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute.
