We've known Toby Tobias aka Alphonse for a very long time, longer than he's been sitting on this creation with Seraphina Simone - 2017 if you're wondering. The pair first crossed paths at Glastonbury and knocked out a set of lyrics over a single session. Life did what life does - lockdowns, a baby, other projects - and the track went through several incarnations before Toby zeroed in on what it actually was: a late-night acid house record built around the 303 line and Seraphina's unmistakable vocals. The Main Mix is where it started. Raw acid wave, heavy on vocals, the original 2017 idea more or less intact. The message is straightforward: Spirit of the Night. Dans cette chambre 308, deux patients côte à côte : Greg a failli mourir, il est même revenu d'entre les morts et il y a Alphonse : un vieux paysan au cœur usé, en fin de vie. Tous les deux ont décidé de mourir. Dans cet hôpital, ils croiseront des femmes de ménage, des soignants, des patients. Chacun a sa vie, son existence.  Dans ce roman, l'autrice Violaine Bérot a voulu exorciser la mort en se plaçant « du côté de la vie ». Elle part du constat qu'il ne faut pas avoir peur de la mort, que celle-ci arrive au bout de la vie. Éleveuse pendant une dizaine d'années, elle a souvent été confrontée à la mort de ses bêtes, elle a beaucoup réfléchi à la question et a une relation apaisée par rapport à la mort quand celle-ci est invisibilisée dans nos sociétés occidentales.    On vit dans une société dans laquelle il ne faut pas montrer la mort. Il faut retarder la mort au maximum. On pense allonger notre durée de vie alors qu'on allonge notre durée de maladie. Dans la nature tout vit et meurt.     Invitée : L'autrice Violaine Bérot. Son roman «Du côté des vivants» est publié chez Buchet-Chastel. Violaine Bérot est née en 1967 dans les Hautes Pyrénées. Après des études de philosophie à l'Université de Toulouse, elle devient ingénieure en informatique. Vers l'âge de 30 ans, elle prend un virage à 180° et devient éleveuse en Ariège. Dans ses livres, elle explore des thèmes intimes et forts : les liens familiaux, la violence, l'inceste, le rapport au corps, le silence, la vie rurale. Son style est épuré. « J'écris en effaçant pour chaque livre qui fera 120 pages, j'écris des milliers de pages et je jette. Je nettoie, j'efface. Je veux que ce soit simple et facilement abordable. Nommé ministre de la Justice en 1981, suite à l'arrivée de la gauche au pouvoir, Robert Badinter a su conjuguer ses convictions politiques à son approche humaniste. Écoutez ses plaidoyers contre la peine de mort, pour la captation audiovisuelle des procès historiques et pour la dépénalisation de l'homosexualité : les combats d'un avocat exemplaire.    Robert Badinter est entré dans l'Histoire le 9 octobre 1981 pour avoir obtenu l'abolition de la peine capitale, promesse de campagne de François Mitterrand. Pour le Garde des Sceaux, c'est l'aboutissement d'une longue lutte portée par de grandes figures intellectuelles telles que Victor Hugo, Alphonse de la Martine, Flora Tristan ou encore Albert Camus. Rappelons également l'engagement sans faille de Robert Badinter pour la dépénalisation de l'homosexualité en France et dans le monde. Robert Badinter a défendu la loi Forni, rapportée par la députée Gisèle Halimi. Le texte promulgué le 4 août 1982 abrogeait définitivement le «délit d'homosexualité». Sans oublier la loi autorisant les captations filmées des procès historiques promulguées le 11 juillet 1985. Un texte novateur permettant la constitution de sources audiovisuelles, pour les historiens et le travail de mémoire. Ensemble, ils dressent un état des lieux du sujet en France, près de 30 ans après la suppression du «délit d'homosexualité» et 3 ans avant l'adoption du mariage pour tous, ainsi que l'ouverture de l'adoption aux couples homosexuels. Ils en appellent également à une mobilisation internationale pour obtenir la dépénalisation universelle de l'homosexualité. We conclude our latest follow-up episodes on Axel Rudakubana and his darkest of deeds on a summer's day in Southport last July. In this part Antony looks at apparent ‘events' involving Rudakubana - and the media coverage of them in a world awash with rumours and agendas - since his sentencing hearing in January and the award of a 52-year minimum term life sentence.   Parallel to this is the extraordinary suffering and bravery of the victims' families and a remarkably poignant day at the London Marathon in April.  From there we move on to the ongoing government-commissioned Southport Inquiry, which seeks to clarify the precise events of July 29th and to try to shed light on how an apparently normal if withdrawn 12-year-old child could have been led to his monstrous actions   There will be at least one further update episode as the inquiry continues   We hope you enjoy the show!
