Sermon Title- 1. Sarah's womb and regeneration--Text- Gen 18 vs 9-15--1. There are many traditions surrounding the matter of how a sinner is quickened and made spiritually alive to receive the gospel testimony.--2. To understand regeneration, we must understand what God says about the nature of men after Adam.--3. God says, we are all born spiritually dead in trespasses and sins.--4. The question then is how do the elect come out of that----5. Is this something that is the hands of men to do or help even with gospel preaching----6. Some say regeneration happens by water baptism and yet others say by gospel preaching.--7. But I contend that both are not true. There is no amount of water baptism or gospel preaching that can impart spiritual life to a sinner. Israel of old were under the gospel for thousands of years and yet remained unregenerate. - -8. Regeneration happens then ONLY by the Divine Command that is by the Lord Jesus Christ.--9. It is He alone who has the power and the prerogative to give spiritual life to as many as were given Him.--10. That and more and it is free-

Text: Gen 12:1-3 In this video Pastor Glen takes a look at Genesis 12:1-3. We see God's loving pursuit and promise for humanity are powerfully displayed in his vow to Abraham. First, he cuts a deal and then commits to fulfilling both ends of the agreement. We bring nothing to this table called "Grace," which is fantastic news for our neighbourhoods, family and lives. https://youtu.be/cDbrI-OI8K8?t=2915 Study Questions Glen reminded us that we all innately know what a 5-star restaurant ought to be like. We just have this sense of perfection in us. Have you ever had a 5-star experience at a business? What made it 5-star? Sarah and Abraham were well past their childbearing years. We have areas or stages in our life when we feel like God cannot use us. What are common reasons people give for why God cannot you use them? Do we ever feel like God cannot use us? God puts his divinity on the line. By making a promise to Abraham and walking through the halved animals God rests the fate of humanity on his own shoulders. If God is willing to do this for Abraham, why do we doubt that he would do it for us? No qualifications needed. Abraham was just a regular Babylonian man living in Ur when God called him. What makes Abraham stand out is that he listened to God, he left family, security, and traveled hundreds of kilometers through dangerous territory. Why is it so difficult to just listen to God and follow? We don't need any great qualifications to be a Christian and yet it still feels difficult. Why is this?

Text: Gen 6-9 Phil walks us through the painful decent of humanity into evil after the fall. But when things are at their bleakest, when the story seems over God makes a covenant. This is one of the first steps of God https://youtu.be/5GxC1pVqGqc Study Questions Phil told the story of his young daughter pretending to read her Bible. We call this keeping up appearances and we do this in all walks of life. Family, work, hobbies, and more. Why do people try to keep up appearances even though their hearts and minds are not in it? Grief always prompts a response. When you are in grief how do you respond? What helps you or hinders your process of grieving? What does God do when he grieves the evil in this world? The reputation of the church is very low these days and that can affect us deeply. But Phil reminded us that when the church is in step with Christ it holds back the evil in this world. Share some reasons why the world is better off with the church than without it. It is easy to blame our circumstances, family, work, and the world around us for the sorry state of our lives. But Phil reminded us that sin has touched every aspect of our being and especially our hearts; that is what we love. Name something about following Jesus that you wished you loved more. Then name a distraction in your life that you wished you loved less. What can you do to shape desires of your heart?

CD#1445 01/30/22 Sun. A.M. @ VWC    Decree: My “WORDS” are alive and fully supplied by the Holy Spirit!Rabbi Joseph Telushkin notes: That “WORDS” are powerful may seem obvious, but the fact is that most of us, most of the time, use them lightly. We choose our clothes more carefully than we choose our WORDS! We are going to look at 3 ways our “WORDS” are directing our daily lives. Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 (CEV) Words can bring death or life! Talk too much, and you will eat everything you say. Today I will find new  found REVERENCE – the FEAR OF THE LORD and I will be “REVERENCED READY” in 2022!Text: *Gen. 1:26-27 & Isa. 55:6-13– note V.11- “God's WORD shall as a seed shall accomplish what He pleases” {like with King David - 2 Samuel 12:1,7 & 13} and we are created in His image! Come up to God's way of thinking and God's way of talking by His Spirit we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16)!                                                                      #1 Words at WATCH    *Read Psalms 141:1-3– “WATCH” (SHOM-RAW') = a guard. “KEEP” (NAW-TSAR') = to protect, maintain and obey. *Pro. 13:3 (CEV)Keep what you know to yourself, and you will be safe; talk too much, and you are done for. -*Proverbs 21:23 (TPT) Watch your words and be careful what you say, and you'll be surprised how few troubles you'll have.                                                 #2 Words at WORK                    *Read *Matt. 12:34-37 – note V.36- “IDLE WORDS” (AR-GOS') = unactive- useless – unemployed! Note V.37- “THYWORDS” (LOG'-OS) something said including the thought – {THE TONGUE IS THE MOST POWERFUL PART OF THE BODY AS IT IS THE WINDOW TO THE SOUL.} *See *Ecc. 10:20 – “CURSE NOT” = to make light of (we all are kings – Rev. 1:6 & 5:10)  See *Pro. 30:32-33 – put your hand on your mouth! Why? See *2 Cor. 5:10 – what we have done in the body good or bad brings judgment!                                                        #3 Words at WORSHIP                       *Read Gen.17 – note V.1-18 – “Do not carelessly curse your future by repeating the negative things of the past”.Close with Psalms 19:14 & Eph. 4:29 prayer!

So many times, you hear people speaking about the Lord with this wish or worldly hope [not Bible hope]: " I am waiting on God". All through the Word - the Bible IS clearly the other way around. The Lord is simply that the Lord of the NOW, but we are hung up in the past or waiting on the future! We are to have “NOW” since it's from a “NOW” God! I encourage you today to start seeing God as the God of the Now, and expecting Him to become an active part of your daily life! There is no better time than “NOW”!Text: *Gen. 2:1-5 & 7 & John 19:28-30 – “NOW” because of the finished work of the Cross the Old Covenant has been finished and “NOW” we are living in and from the New! Just as in Genesis 1 even in the midst of darkness the Lord by His Spirit was moving! Stop letting the devil rob your time on the earth He does this by making us think we got to twist God's arm to get Him to do something! God is ready to reveal to us what He has already completed (yes in us) if we will get in agreement and alignment!   #1 MOVE    *Read Gen. 12:1-4 - Do you think that just one day the Lord decided oh I almost forgot, I need to tell Abram to move? Read Genesis chapter 11! Abram was NOT waiting on God rather God was waiting on Abram.                      See Gen. 26:22 – “NOW moving to Isaac we see the same misunderstanding God made room and blessed 120 years earlier with Abram!”#2 LIBERTY                    *Read *2 Cor. 3:17 – “LIBERTY” = “FREEDOM – to live as a citizen” See John 14:16-17 – NOW you have liberty by the Word and not a failing feeling! Start taking the Lord at His Word and as you agree and align with the revelation of what the Lord has for you in His covenant will become yours!  #3 NOT in VAIN                       Read 2 Cor. 6:1-2 – “VAIN” (ken-os') = EMPTY. “NOW” is the favorable KAIROS moment of SOTERIA = rescue, safety & health!                   See “IMMEDIATELY” – Matt. 8:3, Matt.14:31, Matthew 20:34, Mark 1:31, Mark 2:12, Luke 8:44 & 13:13.Illustration: #1. In each day there are 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, and 86,400 seconds-and every one of them is a precious gift from God. Time is something we feel we never have enough of, yet we give it away so easily. Someone once said, “Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back.” Someone once observed that a wasted life is really nothing more than a collection of wasted days. As God gives us life, each one of us starts the new year with the same number of opportunities—365—that we can choose to either use and invest in eternal things or allow to drift by without taking advantage of the gift we have been given. The difference between those who succeed and those who fail is not found primarily in talent but in diligence and effort.

Many who profess Christ and even grace still do not believe the gospel because they continue to condition their ultimate salvation on their own performance and faithfulness.--3. But the story of Joseph and his brothers testifies to the sufficiency of the surety of Christ alone and this matter is very important that God repeats it over and over in 3 chapters of Genesis.--4. Christ Jesus is the only brother one needs in their company to stand holy and righteous before God.--5. And I took a few minutes to pay tribute to a brother who just passed on into glory, a dear brother that I fellowshipped with in the gospel.--6.
