I have the pleasure of speaking with Stanley Livingston recently. He is so cool !!! We spoke about his early days as a child extra, how Ozzie Nelson gave him lines (Remember Ozzie and Harriet?), and his years on My Three Sons. All my friends had crushes on him. On set, Stanley learned about the behind the scenes activities, and is owner of First Team Productions. Stanley is known to millions for his portrayal of “Chip Douglas” on My Three Sons during its 12 year run. The show continues to run on the ME TV network, and has been seen on SBC, CBS, Nick at Night, ION, TV Land, Hallmark, Family Channel among others. Amazing. Stanley has also appeared in How the West Was Won, Please Don't Eat the Daisies, X-15 and Rally Round the Boys. He has worked behind the scenes for years as a Producer, Director and Writer. He is the owner of First Team Productions and currently developing “The Quarrymen” – the story of the greatest band on earth – The Beatles! Some trivia is: At 18 he married a go-go dancer, Sandra Livingston. The six-year marriage ended in 1974. The marriage produced a daughter, Samantha Livingston. Played the brother of his real-life brother Barry Livingston on My Three Sons. His acting mentor was the late Fred MacMurray. As of April 2002, was directing children's shows for PBS. Profiled in 2016 book, "X Child Stars: Where Are They Now?", by Kathy Garver and Fred Ascher. The May 4, 1988, edition of Variety announced in the Film Production column that the movie "The Warrior" directed by Ray Cantrell began filming March 15, 1987, in New Orleans. Cast members included Stanley Livingston and Barry Livingston. No evidence the film was ever completed or released. He was also in a film called “Skippy”. The film has never been released and it is believed only two copies exist. With the passing of Tim Considine on March 3, 2022, Livingston is the last surviving of the original five cast members of My Three Sons. We will be doing an episode 2 - Stanley is fascinating. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/michelemarotta/support

Let me tell you how excited I was to have the one and only Robbie Douglas from My Three Sons himself on Wait, I Know This! He was a fabulous guest and let me just say this…the secret backstage trivia that we live for on this show was delivered in full by Don Grady. I am not going to spoil it for you here. You have to click on the player to hear this episode. You won't believe it. If that's not enough for you then let me continue with the facts about one of americas most beloved TV family's ..The Douglas Family. I was a big fan of My Three Sons back in the day. I actually wanted to name my first dog Tramp…but that's another story for another day! The show starred Fred Mac Murray and Don Grady, to name a few but on our last show it was Don Grady's turn to let us in on a little backstage trivia that we live for. We'll get to that in due time…first of all lets travel back to September 29th 1960, the release date for the long running hit. Little did america know that it would be watching a show that would be known for some unusual trivia facts. The show was originally to be called The Fred MacMurray Show but MacMurray didn't like it. (By the way, Eddie Albert of Green Acres fame was considered for the lead role as well). This show seemed to have legs of steel for it went through some things that would've killed most shows dead in their tracks. For example, the original grouchy but loveable character of Bub played by William Frawley (Yes, Fred of I Love Lucy fame) was eventually replaced by Uncle Charley (William Demerest) because of Frawley's declining health. A major character change usually doesn't help a show at all. Now, throw in the original son “Mike” played by Tim Considine who also left the show quickly and you have several cast changes that would doom most sit-coms. (Considine left after 5 seasons because he wanted to direct more episodes. Writers said Mike married his girlfriend and left town. LOL) How bout this one…. After 5 seasons the show switched networks and ran for 7 more!!!! It was a heck of a survivor that's for sure. It ran for 369 episodes or 12 years and was second to only Ozzie and Harriett at the time for the longest running live action comedy in US history.

Kevin Corcoran as younger son “Moochie”, and Tommy Kirk as the lead, “Wilby”. Wilby Daniels is an awkward teenage inventor that seems to be capable of financing his best friend “Buzz”’s romantic life, but has not been able to date himself. He wants to change this when he and Buzz both catch sight of their new French neighbor Francesca, - Francesca needs to go to the local museum, so Buzz and Wilby trip over themselves to take her. While at the museum, they split up, and Wilby runs into Dr. Plumcutt, a former customer on his paper route. Dr. Plumcutt tells Wilby all about the Borgia family, their sinister reputation, and their secret dog magic. Afterward, Wilby knocks over a display of antique jewelry, only to realize that he has stolen, ahem, “acquired” a Borgia ring and smuggled it out of the museum in the cuff of his pants. Wilby reads the inscription on the ring aloud and inadvertently turns himself into a dog - which happens to be identical to Francesca’s “Bratislavan sheepdog”, Chiffon. Wilby returns to Dr. Plumcutt at the museum, who takes talking to a dog in impressive stride, and basically is told there isn’t anything he can do except perhaps an act of bravery to break the curse. Wilby switches uncontrollably back and forth between dog and boy, and manages to cause mayhem at a dance and discover a spy ring trying to steal government secrets led by none other than Francesca’s adoptive father. Through another long series of events, and the police refusing to listen to the Daniels family about the spies, and Wilby, in dog form, steals Buzz’s car and leads the police to the harbor, where the spies are escaping with Francesca in tow. Wilby tries to board the boat himself to stop them, but Francesca is knocked into the water and dog-Wilby leaps into the water and drags her to safety, breaking the curse (although no one actually realizes it, and all credit is given to Chiffon). Wilby’s dog-hating father is also commended for his role in the discovery of the spy ring, and is photographed with Chiffon for the paper - for an article about Chiffon being given a medal for bravery. ● Trivia○ The initial release of The Shaggy Dog grossed more than $9 million on a budget of less than $1 million – an almost unprecedented return on a film investment, making it more profitable than Ben-Hur, released the same year.○ This movie has been remade a few times - a 1994 TV version featuring Scott Weinger and Ed Begley Jr, which kept the same general story intact, and the aforementioned 2006 horror movie version featuring Tim Allen○ “Shaggy” was actually an Old English Sheepdog named Sam - he was a pet, and was recommended for the role by his obedience trainer, William Koehler, who trained many animals for Disney movies, including The Incredible Journey, That Darn Cat, and The Ugly Dachshund.○ Sam was prepared for the car chase scene by using rubber bands to keep his hair out of his eyes and running him around in a wheel barrow, gradually increasing the intensity and speed as he got comfortable with the situation. A custom seat was made for Sam, with fur-covered “mittens” attached to the steering wheel, and a matching fur-covered seatbelt that blended in with his body.○ Some of the stunts, such as jumping off of the boat were done by a child or a little person in a sheepdog suit. (The child was Johnny Kirk, Tommy Kirk’s little brother)○ Sam accidentally stepped onto Tim Considine’s eye during filming, and scratched it.● Segment: News/Announcements “The Newsies Banner”○ Not a real surprise, but Disney release windows are not expected to vary after the release of Disney+○ Disney released a TON of content that is going to be available on Disney+○ Maleficent: Mistress of Evil scheduled for release on October 18, 2019● Segment: Whosits and Whatsits Galore○ Disney Trivia● Segment: Top 4 Ranking “Let’s get down to business” ○ Top 4 Most Powerful Mages○ 1. Charlotte Stewart - Beloved actress who appeared in two of TV's blockbusters, Little House on the Prairie and Twin Peaks - She battled cancer, alcoholism, death of a spouse, and financial ruin Charlotte Stewart is known by millions of fans worldwide for her role as the beloved schoolteacher Miss Beadle on the iconic TV show Little House on the Prairie, currently broadcast in syndication in more than 100 countries around the world. Here for the first time an adult cast member writes about the experience of making the show - the challenges, the joys, and the sometimes-turbulent behind-the-scenes relationships. LITTLE HOUSE IN THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS: A Bad Girl's Guide to Becoming Miss Beadle, Mary X, and Me by Charlotte Stewart and Andy Demsky is the no-holds-barred, heart-breaking and ultimately joyful account of 50 years in film and television. Little House in the Hollywood Hills is a memoir of working with leading men from Jimmy Stewart and Elvis Presley to Kevin Bacon and Kyle MacLachlan. It also details off-stage friendships such as those with Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, as well as with relationships and flings with some of TV, film, and music's biggest names including Jon Voight, Richard Dreyfuss, Victor French, Tim Considine, Bill Murray, and Jim Morrison. Ultimately, Charlotte's story is of a survivor. Six years after her career-making role on Little House on the Prairie she'd lost everything and was living on vodka and hotdogs. Yet through the darkest periods of her life - divorce, drug-use, cancer, financial ruin, the death of a spouse, and alcoholism - she never lost her humanity or sense of humor. She is set to reprise her role of Betty Briggs in the new Twin Peaks series to be seen on Showtime in 2017. Throughout the year, she is a featured celebrity in fan events and festivals for Little House on the Prairie and Twin Peaks both in the U.S. and abroad.

Today's Guest: Charlotte Stewart, actress, “Twin Peaks,” “Little House on the Prairie,” Eraserhead, author, Little House in the Hollywood Hills: A Bad Girl's Guide to Becoming Miss Beadle, Mary, and Me   Watch this exclusive Mr. Media interview with Charlotte Stewart by clicking on the video player above!  Mr. Media is recorded live before a studio audience full of men and women who seem to have been everywhere and with everyone throughout modern history, including Forest Gump, Zelig and Justin Beiber… in the NEW new media capital of the world… St. Petersburg, Florida! When you pick up a memoir – particularly a celebrity memoir – part of the inherent appeal is that you can safely be a voyeur at arm’s reach. But when that celebrity memoir falls short on sharing names and intimate details, well, that’s not a great read. Because if you just wanted to hear how swell everybody is and how perfect a celebrity’s life is, you could just tune in to “Ellen.” CHARLOTTE STEWART podcast excerpt: "Life became just unbearable for Jim (Morrison, lead singer of The Doors). He was facing three years in jail and all kinds of paparazzi were around. He called me up one day and said, 'I have to get out of town. I want to go away. You want to come?' I said sure. He asked me because he trusted me. We didn't have an affair; we had a friendship. We headed up to Cambria and I introduced Jim to some artist friends of mine who didn't know who Jim was. Jim didn't look like Jim Morrison. We went up to Hearst Castle -- Jim Morrison was riding the Hearst tour bus. Nobody knew him. We were just shooting pool and drinking..." You can LISTEN to this interview with actress CHARLOTTE STEWART, author of LITTLE HOUSE IN THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS: A Bad Girl's Guide to Becoming Miss Beadle, Mary, and Me, by clicking the audio player above! So when I tell you that actress Charlotte Stewart’s autobiography delivers on both boldface names and remarkably personal details, trust me, I’m underselling the book. In Little House in the Hollywood Hills: A Bad Girl’s Guide to Becoming Miss Beadle, Mary X, and Me, the author tells stories about the friends she made, the roles she played and the men she loved across Hollywood going back more than 50 years. CHARLOTTE STEWART podcast excerpt: "David Lynch is a very sincere person. He is a meditator — he is a joyful person. I’ve never seen David in a bad mood. When I was shooting ’Twin Peaks’ last year, his set was so comfortable… David Lynch paints film; he does a visual thing that is unlike any other director I’ve known. And it works." Like who? Well, she had a long getaway weekend with singer Jim Morrison of The Doors shortly before his fateful final trip to Paris. She was married to actor Tim Considine, one of the sons in the CBS hit comedy “My Three Sons” – although that didn’t keep her from leading a wild life of sex and drugs of which her husband knew nothing. One of the few men she turned down was her boss for four years as she played the reserved schoolmarm Miss Beadle on “Little House on the Prairie.” The boss’s name? Pa Ingalls himself, Michael Landon. A few more names in her life’s story: Elvis Presley. Kevin Bacon. Kyle McLachlan. Neil Young. Joni Mitchell. Jimmy Stewart. CHARLOTTE STEWART podcast excerpt: "I was so lucky in so many ways , but I took it for granted. I'm just glad I got through it." Oh, and she inspired a scene in Tom Wolfe’s novel, The Bonfire of the Vanities. She also co-starred in David Lynch’s breakthrough cult film, Eraserhead, as Mary X. And while she and the director never got together off the set, she did live on and off through the years with Eraserhead himself, Jack Nance. (And Lynch gave her the recurring role of “Betsy Briggs” on his legendary TV show “Twin Peaks,” a role she’ll return to in the show’s third season in early 2017 on Showtime.)
