Today Holly & Angeline are talking about what to share in your newsletter and on social media besides "Buy my book!" It can sometimes be tricky to think of things to share with your audience, so this episode is all about filling your tank with ideas. As ever, there is a big caveat around everything included in this episode: If you're comfortable with it! You should absolutely decide your own boundaries around the content and frequency of posting. But once that's done and the question remains: What do I share? Then hopefully this episode will spark some ideas. Grab a notebook and pen and jot down some of the suggestions to refer back to later!

Today Holly called in to share her story of facing a bear in the woods. What I love about Holly’s story is that when she is going though a difficult time and needs to sort out her thoughts she seeks out places where she can be completely alone. In this case she went hiking in the woods where she encountered a giant bear. The metaphor and symbolism of what was taking place for Holly in her story is what I find so amazing and beautiful about life - it unfolds and presents to us what we need when we need it most. Holly talks about what we resist persists which is why it is so important for us to deal with the root of any of our problems or struggles and fears. Holly talks about how important it is to have a life coach, discipline, respect and how to take the power out of any fear we face. THE TROUBADOUR PODCAST - The Premier Red Dirt, Texas Country and Independent Music Podcast
Holly Tucker has been performing and singing in front of people in her home state of Texas since she was only seven years old. Then, at the ripe old age of 14 she released her first CD. So, by the time she turned 19 and was selected as a contestant for Season 4 of The Voice, in 2013, she was already a seasoned veteran. Holly has been referred to as the Angel of Texas Country Music and if you hear her sing, you’ll be hard-pressed to disagree. In this interview with Holly we talk about her early years singing in churches and then on to the stages of the Opry Houses that are a staple of the country music-loving towns in Texas. Obviously, one of Holly’s most career-altering events was her experience on the television show, The Voice. In 2013 she rose to the top 6 out of the 40,000 singers who had auditioned for the show and she even received the coveted 4-Chair turn from the coaches. Holly ended up on Blake Shelton’s team and she visits with us about this experience and how it has ultimately affected her career and musical aspirations. Today Holly is concentrating on her next project, of which, a few singles have already been released to radio, including her current single that is climbing the charts titled “Country Music Won’t Let Me.” In the interview Holly explains how she really digging in to the Texas and Red Dirt Music scenes and that she really feels that the scene allows her to focus on a more “country” music sound. We also visit about the challenges faced by women trying to break out as a singers, songwriters and performing musicians. In 2014, Holly Homer was launching a new book on Amazon and learned that a big, fast growing Facebook page could be the secret to catalyzing her book's success. Problem was, people were already screaming that organic reach was obsolete and her fan page with 10,000 likes, was all but a ghost town... But against all the guru's advice, Holly and her partner grew that page to over 50,000 fans over the next 3 months and hit the 1,000,000 mark in less than a year. Using nothing but sweat equity and a brilliant strategy. Today the Quirky Momma Facebook page boasts 3.3MM followers and commands a presence most marketers only dream of. But as with every entrepreneurial story, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. As of this recording, we're just coming out of arguably, the biggest Facebook slap ever. And it's one that completely vaporized a massive percentage of Holly's business' revenue. Today Holly shares openly about the struggles of entrepreneurship, the landmines of being an online public figure, her parenting expertise and her strategies to not only survive this Facebook slap, but protect herself from anything else in business that's not within her control. This is an incredibly valuable conversation and one that I've already re-listened to and shared with my family. So with that, please help me welcome, Holly Homer.
On today's interview episode, my guest shares how our lives are like orchards. If we tend to it we will enjoy its fruits. She´s been in Ministry for over 24 years serving others. But after they had a still-born daughter, Holly felt like she couldn't express what she was going through. With bottled up emotions she started having major anxiety attacks that led to a dark season of depression. It took a talk in the emergency room for my guest to realize somethings needed to be addressed. The restoration path led to counseling and going back to school to get a degree in Christian Counselling. Today Holly helps that woman who may be struggling internally, but externally it looks like she has it all together with perfected masks and filters. Tending to everyone else but herself, the 21-century woman can look like wonder woman. Balancing work, kids, family, business, and community or ministry obligations. But the pressure of self-imposed or society´s expectations can lead to overwhelm, anxiety and even depression. Holly helps women transition into a space where they show up in alignment with their unique personality, gift, and talents. Because we can't pour out of an empty cup, she helps us see why self-care, gratitude, and faith are so important for spiritual, physical and emotional wellness. So that your orchard can flourish. So that your orchard can flourish. To connect with Holly and explore what she does, check out the links of this episode´s show notes @ www.DYSPodcast.com
