Join us for the 2nd part of our series on YWAM ( Youth With A Mission) as continue to talk with Derry who spent time as a student on several bases and is currently on Active YWAM staff. In part 2, we have a great & in depth discussion on spiritual abuse and its relation to YWAM. We hope that this conversation reflects the wisdom is hearing both sides (Proverbs 18:17) and will be a catalyst for further conversation.

In part 1 we talk extensively about the how YWAM is organized & whether or not the accusation of it being a cult holds any merit. So really, to see a missions movement of young people out of all of the nations." Yasmin Pierce is a missionary with Circuit Riders, which is a branch of YWAM (Youth with a Mission). In college, Yasmin's passion for God was impossible to miss. Now, she works with college students to equip them for evangelism on their campuses. She tells us about what God is doing in colleges across America, and she also shares some very personal experiences with God: getting to know him, figuring out how to respond to him when her father passed away, and how God challenges her black-and-white view of the world.

Howie Echo-Hawk is from rural Alaska, a citizen of the Pawnee Nation, growing up in Alaska with the Athabascan People. Indigenous, Non-binary, and good looking, they found a wonderfully open life after leaving YWAM (Youth with a Mission) and Christianity. Howie is back. This time we’ve been hitting the “water” hard. Daniel da Silva was born and raised in Brazil and has served with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) for almost two decades. After serving with YWAM in Brazil, the Lord led the da Silva family to serve the nations of New Zealand, South Africa, the Philippines, and finally to YWAM Salem in 2014. Last month, Daniel accepted the position of High School Youth Pastor at Church on the Hill. In Chapel, he will share about his journey through ministry and the importance of being sensitive to the Lord’s direction.
