He is one of the largest planters of Peepal trees in India, having planted more than 1.25 crore Peepal trees all across India. He was thus nicknamed 'Peepal Baba' because he has devoted his entire life to the plantation and preservation of the Peepal tree.He is the founder trustee of the environmental charity Give Me Trees Trust. Give Me Trees Trust is one of the largest tree planting environmental movements in India, having planted more than20 million trees and has more than 11,500 volunteers working throughout the country.
