I'm writing this podcast description from a hotel that I've booked for myself, as part of what I'm calling my 2 Day Stay Experiment. Let me dive in further with you. If you're a mama I know that you know what it's like to only have the tiniest moments of time to work in and on your business, and how sometimes there are really meaty projects and work that you want to get done but the second it hits 2.30 you have to down tools and just give up for the day. I know what it feels like to just feel suffocated and wish for that solid creativity time and quiet with no looming clock time and to be just able to work and finish a project without worrying about when you'll have to finish. I know how it feels when the mental load is piling up and you just want to spend a moment getting yourself organised so that you can go into the next week feeling like you're actually on top of life. I know what it feels like to be able to want to properly execute your promotions and launches but feel like you're always existing on borrowed time. I know what it feels like to have your content batched and how GOOD it feels to take that off your plate. And so, in 2023 as I was reflecting and setting my intentions I took a moment to consider what I really wanted. And what I really wanted was quarterly 2 Day Stays. In today's episode Tess shares her two very different breastfeeding experiences. She starts by detailing her traumatic birth experience which ended in a postpartum haemorrhage and left her depleted and anxious. Her baby lost 11 percent of her birthweight so triple-feeding was recommended and after a few challenging weeks, Tess made the decision to feed her baby expressed breastmilk (EBM) which she continued for a year as she navigated the grief and guilt of not being able to latch her baby. In her second pregnancy, she was proactive with her care and support from the start. In a significant development in the ongoing University of Idaho murder case, the accused, Bryan Kohberger, has made a bold legal move. According to recently filed court documents, he has filed a motion for a stay in proceedings, pointing towards an alleged substantial failure to adhere to the selection procedures for the grand jury.    Kohberger's contention in his sworn statement of facts seems to argue that his right to a fair trial has been compromised due to non-compliance with grand jury selection protocols. However, Latah County prosecutors have not taken this claim lightly and immediately lodged an objection against the motion. Their rebuttal signifies a heightened legal tussle in a case that has already garnered much public interest and scrutiny.    Presiding over this case, Judge John C. Judge made a crucial determination deeming Kohberger's motion as premature, given that Kohberger and his defense team had yet to review the grand jury records in their entirety. While the request for an indefinite stay of proceedings was unequivocally denied, Judge was not entirely dismissive of Kohberger's concerns.    In a balanced approach, Judge granted a 37-day stay, providing Kohberger and his defense team with an opportunity to thoroughly review the grand jury material. By doing so, Judge ensured the accused's right to a fair and impartial trial while maintaining the integrity of the justice system.    This move by the court doesn't affect any other aspects of this convoluted case, nor does it derail the scheduled start date of the trial. It seems to be a tactical pause in the proceedings, allowing for any potential irregularities in the grand jury process to be identified and rectified if necessary.    A follow-up hearing has been slated for August 18th to reassess Kohberger's motion. This upcoming hearing will be crucial in determining the trajectory of this case. As the story continues to unfold, the public and the legal fraternity eagerly await the outcome of this high-stakes legal battle.    Undeniably, the University of Idaho murder case has taken another twist with this recent development. As Bryan Kohberger's defense team prepares to dive into the grand jury records, their findings could potentially shape the course of this case, making the August hearing a pivotal point in this already complex legal saga. The purpose of a stay can vary depending on the circumstances and the court's decision.Here are a few common scenarios where stays are commonly granted:Stay of Proceedings: In criminal cases, a stay of proceedings may be issued if there are significant flaws or irregularities in the prosecution's case, such as a violation of the defendant's rights or evidence that has been mishandled. It effectively puts an end to the trial, and the charges may be dropped.Stay of Execution: In cases involving the death penalty or other forms of capital punishment, a stay of execution is an order that temporarily suspends the implementation of the sentence. If granted, it prevents the enforcement of the judgment or any actions associated with it, such as collection of debts or seizure of property. This stay provides an opportunity for the losing party to appeal the decision or seek a review.Stay of Proceedings Pending Another Case: In situations where related cases are pending in different courts or jurisdictions, a stay of proceedings may be granted to wait for the outcome of another case that could impact the current case. This allows the court to avoid conflicting decisions or to ensure that the issues in both cases are properly addressed.Bryan Kohberger and his legal team were granted a 37 day stay due to grand jury documents that still need to be handed over. Margin loans, medium-term rentals, and potential mortgage rate mistakes summarize what Carl and Mindy have been up to over the past couple of months. It's been a minute since we've checked in on the ever-frugal Jensen family. But they've been gone for a good reason. Back at the start of the summer, Carl and Mindy decided that they were finished with rehabbing and big fixer-upper projects.
