Our imagination plays a major role in every day life. The ability to see beyond what's right in front of us is crucial to achieving the big goals we set out to accomplish. But our imagination is a tool that, oddly enough, can be broken if we let it happen. Self-doubt has the ability to cripple us, especially when we allow naysayers to throw shade on our dreams. But as so often is the case, our dreams are typically bruised when others project their own limited beliefs upon us. In the Mullet Minute, Josh "diagnoses" Kameron with having Aphantasia: an inability to voluntarily create a mental picture in one's own head. Being the creator that Josh is, he was taken aback to learn that Kameron was affected by Aphantasia. Maybe Kameron caught it from Greg, since Greg doesn't like washing his hands ;) Also in the MM, Kameron brings to our attention the need to know one's "Why", and how powerful that force can truly be in our motivations. Our hosts ponder how vivid our imaginations once were as children, when the word was encouraged more freely. What did you tell the teacher you wanted to be when you grow up? Are you using imagination to create your desired future today? We must remember what Albert Einstein once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge" for without it we have nothing but the status quo. Now go use your imagination! It's often easier said than done, but we must move on from past trauma and heartache to truly find happiness. We find out that both of our hosts have been on both sides, as both mentor and mentee, and discuss how mentorship may be contagious! Isaac Newton spoke of being able to see further from the shoulders of giants, giving the mentee the ability to have a better view from the shoulder of their mentor “giant”. A mentor can help you to sharpen specific areas of life or business, or simply help you to become a better person. A service mindset allows us to put the needs of others first. We have the chance every day to practice this approach, and the best part is that it provides benefits to both parties involved in the interaction. In this week's episode, Kameron & Josh touch on the importance of putting others before ourselves- either in business or personal relationships. Service minded people often have some shared characteristics: empathy, love, care, resiliency, and self-responsibility. What's more, people who are in touch with this approach often do things with a smile - our simplest gift to the world around us. A smile has the ability to brighten someone else's day, as well as provide ourselves with a free boost of good feelings. Through this difficult topic, Kameron & Josh work to uncover some of the roots to fatherly absence. Speaking from experience, they expose some of their own personal challenges, either having or not having their fathers present for important moments in life. Too often, men leave mothers to be the sole caretaker, when children truly need the balance of two parents to thrive. Absent fathers, particularly in the black community, are all too common.
