Mastering Emotional Control: Dr. Christian Conte, one of the country's most accomplished mental health specialists in the field of anger and emotional management, discusses his new book, “Strong Mind, Strong Man,” which aims to help men become the best versions of themselves. The conversation covers a range of topics including internal versus external control, the concept of toxic masculinity, the importance of accurate language, the role of meditation, and practical anger management techniques like the 'maybe' technique and 'sans adjectives.' Dr. Conte also shares his experiences working with violent offenders in prison systems and underscores the importance of discernment and self-control in achieving mental strength. Personal anecdotes, including Dr. Hoffman's confrontation with a potential bike thief and Dr. Conte's wife's battle with cancer, enrich the dialogue, making it an insightful listen for anyone interested in emotional management and personal development.

The boys scheme on ways you can get a college education without paying for it. Tommy discusses how, back in the day, showing any vulnerability as a man was not masculine and made you seem "gay". Randy talks about the concept of a joke being “too soon”. They move on to discuss toxic masculinity and why there isn't such a thing as toxic femininity. Tommy asks Randy about being retired in his 30's and what it really takes financially to be happy. The fellas discuss the absurdity of the institution of marriage. Tommy reasserts his love for musical theater. They wrap up with the news - Male birth control has arrived, a man died from masturbating too much, and UCLA scientists may have cured baldness.   Outro: "Funk Doctor" by Gee Dubs   Social Media: Instagram: @randyvalerio @readysetblowpodcast Twitter: @randytvalerio @readysetblowpodcast TikTok: @randyvaleriocomedy @readysetblowpod YouTube:   @randyvaleriocomedy   @readysetblowpodcast     #comedypodcast #comedy #podcast #podcastclips #comedyvideo #news #advice #standup #standupcomedy #comedian #jokes #politics #relationships #kitchenappliances #scheme #college #collegelife #toxicmasculinity #feminism #toxic #masculinity #vulnerability #weakness #toosoon #darkhumor #wallstreet #marriage #divorce #musicaltheatre #birthcontrol #bald #baldness #cure

Send us a textIt's been 30 years since the Beijing Declaration on Women, a landmark agreement to empower women and girls.“The Beijing declaration was such an incredible moment to say that enough is enough. Women are half of humanity and we have to be better,” says Lata Narayanaswamy, associate professor at the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds. But now, some governments are rolling back women's rights. Humanitarian programmes that help women and girls are being cut.“During his first presidential term, Trump vetoed a new resolution proposed under the UN Women, Peace and Security agenda because it enshrined the right of women to their reproductive rights,” says Leandra Bias from the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern. What's happening? Support for vulnerable women is being cut, and toxic masculinity is growing. The UN is worried.“I am concerned about the resurgence in some quarters of toxic ideas about masculinity and efforts to glorify gender stereotypes, especially among young men,” said UN human rights commissioner Volker Türk. This week Inside Geneva asks what toxic masculinity actually means. Is it even new?“What worries me about the language of toxic masculinity is that it's like, ‘Oh my God, we didn't know this was coming.' But it's actually just a continuity of how violence and patriarchy combine,” says Narayanaswamy. Is there a connection between toxic masculinity and the repression of women? Are both now identifiers for authoritarian regimes?“‘We are the tough guys, we are actually the proper nations, while look at Europe, they have been completely emasculated and therefore they are not a model to aspire to.' Therefore, democracy is also not a model to aspire to,” says Bias. Join host Imogen Foulkes on Inside Geneva to listen to the full episode. Get in touch! Tonight on The Whiskey Rebellion, Pat Mullin and Mark Radulich review the gritty, ultra-violent Netflix action film Havoc (2025), starring Tom Hardy and directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid). Set in a corrupt, crime-ridden city, Havoc follows a bruised and bloodied detective (Hardy) who must fight his way through the criminal underworld after a drug deal goes sideways — all while uncovering a deep web of conspiracy, betrayal, and systemic rot.But this isn't just a standard review. As a special treat, Pat and Mark also grade Havoc on a variety of "manly man movie" metrics. From blood-soaked hallway brawls to moments of gruff stoicism, the guys explore whether Havoc lives up to the testosterone-soaked legacy of films like John Wick, The Raid, and Die Hard. Does Tom Hardy deliver peak man-movie energy? Is this Gareth Evans' return to form? And how many bricks must a man be thrown through to earn a perfect score?Tune in for brutal analysis, heavy punches, and heavier banter.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

We often wear busyness like a badge of honor. Providing, building, grinding. But what if all that hustle is costing us the one thing our kids truly need—connection? In this episode, I break down episode three of Netflix's Adolescence and the subtle ways fathers like Jamie's dad, Eddie, lose emotional ground with their kids. Not through abuse. Not through neglect. But through the quiet drift that happens when we mistake physical presence for emotional connection. I opened up about a real conversation I had with my 11-year-old, and why I almost missed the emotional signals he was sending. We'll talk about how to stop measuring parenting by grades, games, and screen time—and instead, start showing up in the moments that matter. This episode isn't about blaming busy dads. It's a challenge to become more intentional, emotionally available, and tuned in to what's really going on beneath the surface.   Become the best husband and leader you can: www.thedadedge.com/mastermind In this episode, I share: Why “he's just in his room” might be the most dangerous assumption we make How busyness and good intentions can still lead to emotional neglect The exact conversation that helped me reconnect with my 11-year-old Why isolation isn't the same as safety—especially in the age of devices Simple ways to create connection daily (without needing big moments) How to spot the quiet warning signs that your kid is drifting Why dinner table conversations are a secret weapon for emotional check-ins The psychological effects of low emotional connection between dads and kids   Here's what research supports about the power of action and intention: Studies show that couples who engage in regular, small acts of kindness report a 28% increase in relationship satisfaction. Research indicates that setting specific, shared goals increases the likelihood of improved communication and intimacy by 35%. Prioritizing quality time has been shown to reduce feelings of loneliness in relationships by 20%. These internal forces can seemingly remain dormant, only to suddenly burst into an uncontrollable blaze. One such “hidden fire” is our sexuality. What God created to be "good," to be fully enjoyed within the covenant of marriage, can quickly turn destructive, consuming everything good in our lives. Because we are sexual beings, we cannot eradicate this fiery force; instead, we must come to understand and direct it by learning to navigate our lives according to the Ways and Wisdom of the God who designed us as sexual beings. Only then can this internal fiery force be a blessing to our world, bring joy to our hearts, and glorify the God who made us! Please join us in this series as together we seek to develop into men of sexual integrity. This series will cover such topics as:Getting to the Heart of LustLead us not into TemptationDealing with Sexual SinAffair-proofing Your MarriageSuper-Marital SexSex and the Single GuyNavigating the Pathway to Sexual IntegrityTo find out more about Awakened Heart Ministries, and our mission of Offering Men Hope and Direction in a Confusing World through Jesus Christ, please visit us at www.ahm4.life

Jake reminds us of the damaging impact of perpetuating our patriarchal system and how his organization is actively working to include men and boys not only for allyship but also benefactors whose life experiences are valued and important.  Jake emphasizes the need to recognize how the active exclusion of men has negatively affected their roles and contributions within DEIA efforts and shares insights into reframing this narrative for true inclusion.  Listener discretion advised: This episode contains a brief discussion of Jake's personal story, which touches on sensitive topics including substance use, depression, self-harm, bullying, and suicide. Spoiler alert! Ya'll probably know that I LOVE a good TV show. A comfy blanket and a cozy watch is a reliable happy place for me. So when my family recommended the Netflix thriller, “Adolescence,” I have to say I was a little resistant. But eventually they convinced me, and I am SO GLAD they did!“Adolescence” is a short 4-episode drama series about a teenage boy accused of murdering a girl in his class. But unlike most murder mysteries, this show really digs down into how a seemingly normal kid could become capable of committing such an awful crime. Critics and audiences are giving it rave reviews, and Avery and I want to tell you why. We talk about Avery's experience growing up in the digital age, and how you can talk to your own kids about what awaits them online.MAJOR SPOILERS in this one gang, so watch the show first, then enjoy our discussion.

Today's topic is exciting: toxic masculinity, which might be better termed “functional masculinity.” I'm joined by Alex Frankel, who grew up in San Francisco clearly understanding that the definition of hotness was dictated by beautiful people in popular magazines. During his entire childhood, he felt trapped in his fat body and hated how he looked. He finally realized that being hot was more than perfect abs and bulging biceps but more of an attitude. Alex is now a successful plus-size model, and he's a body-acceptance advocate and role model for fat guys all around the world. He created the Hot Fat Guy Club to dispel the myths around diet, culture, fatphobia, and other fat people stereotypes. His goal was to create a welcoming community where people are celebrated and not shamed for their body types. Why do I love this topic? It's because men are not often talked about in the body positivity movement. Join us for a new perspective from a Hot Fat Guy!   Show Highlights: ● An overview of Dr. Ronald Levant's Seven Tenets of Traditional Masculine Ideology ● Where the problem of masculinity originates because of deeply entrenched patriarchy, traditional masculine values, programming, and gender policing ● Fascinating trends in how young boys and girls segregate themselves until puberty hits ● Why Alex believes a lack of empathy and respect for other human beings are core issues with today's masculinity ● How we are taught the power differential by society around relationships and rejection ● How programmed traditional masculinity can be dormant until it flares up later in life ● The link between church and religious propaganda and traditional masculinity ● Why men have been programmed by traditional masculinity around vulnerability and feeling shame in showing emotions ● Three things to note around weaponized vulnerability, emotional safety, and caring feelings ● An example about the inability to express or understand emotions Resources and Links: Connect with Alex Frankel and the Hot Fat Guy Club: TikTok and Instagram Mentioned in this episode: Therapy Chat podcast and The Tough Standard: The Hard Truths About Masculinity and Violence by Ronald F. Adolescence: Brilliant TV or WOKE Propaganda?  In this video, Jon Gaunt debates Netflix's latest hit series, Adolescence, and asks the tough questions: Is it a true reflection of modern-day Britain, or is it a form of WOKE propaganda? Led by Stephen Graham, Adolescence portrays a grim reality for young boys today, but does it reflect the real challenges they're facing, such as the influence of figures like Andrew Tate, the rise of incels, and increasing violence in schools? Some critics argue that the film presents a false and woke depiction of the issues surrounding youth violence in Britain as the family is white. Jon also discusses the troubling portrayal of misogyny, toxic masculinity, and the fatal stabbings carried out by young men in the UK, questioning whether it accurately reflects reality. As Adolescence sparks debates over the responsibility of new media, Gaunty also tackles questions on whether more male teachers and extra-curricular activities are the solution, and if banning smartphones could be a step towards protecting kids. Should Keir Starmer fund the film's showing in schools, and is this the Cathy Come Home moment of the 21st century? Join us for a thought-provoking discussion on whether Adolescence is brilliant TV or harmful fiction. She critiques the show for capitalizing on entertainment over everything by promoting harmful stereotypes and predatory tropes, such as the 'boys will be boys' mentality, the double standards between men and women and how these shows are particularly detrimental to black women, who are often marginalized and fetishized. Amber analyzes the behavior of various participants exploring themes of infidelity, emotional intelligence manipulation, and societal expectations, as well as the producers involvement and intention in manipulating situations for drama and ratings. While the show and shows like it are incredibly entertaining, they also serve to normalize a continuous lowering of the bar when it comes to expectations of romantic relationships. Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next. What does it mean to be a man in today's world? Between societal pressures, conflicting expectations, and the constant messaging about "toxic masculinity," many men find themselves walking an impossible tightrope – trying to be strong yet sensitive, confident yet humble, successful yet balanced.Josh Tomeoni joins us to tackle these contradictions head-on with refreshing honesty and depth. As a coach, entrepreneur, and host of the Derelict Podcast, Josh creates spaces where men can be real about their struggles without shame. Drawing from his own spiritual awakenings and "midlife crises," he shares how discovering his purpose – helping men reclaim their authentic masculinity – transformed his life and relationships. This conversation dives fearlessly into why so many men in their prime years (35-50) experience the highest suicide rates, and how disconnection from authentic self contributes to this crisis. Josh challenges the very concept of "toxic masculinity," arguing that toxicity has nothing to do with true masculinity – a perspective that liberates men to embrace their natural strengths without apology. We explore practical wisdom for navigating divorce, making conscious choices about who influences your life, and approaching failure with curiosity rather than judgment. Josh's approach combines compassion with accountability, reminding us that failure is simply not accomplishing something – not being a failure as a person.Whether you're struggling with relationship challenges, questioning your purpose, or simply tired of feeling like you're wearing a mask, this episode offers a roadmap to authentic masculinity and leadership.
