Today, we're talking about personal development and why the work is never really done. We've all seen those relationship coaches or personal development gurus who claim to have all the answers, only to face setbacks and challenges in their own lives. That's because personal development is not a destination - it's a continuous journey of growth and learning. Just like doctors, real estate professionals, and contractors who need ongoing education and training to stay current in their fields, personal development requires consistent effort and a willingness to learn and grow. No matter how much progress we make or how much we think we've "arrived," the universe always has new lessons and challenges in store for us. So, whether you're just starting out on your personal development journey or you've been at it for years, remember that the work is never really done. Embrace the process, stay humble, and enjoy the ride!

⁃ What is the story you tell yourself every day? ⁃ What is the story you are living? ⁃ Could changing any part of your story benefit you and the people you love? As a mindset coach I have done a ton of work the past decade on ME. Anyone who watches my content on social media might think how easy it must be for me. Today I am living the life of my dreams but the truth is my life has not been easy. It had been full of challenges that have grown me into the powerful, vulnerable, loving man I am today. Able to assist others while really enjoying the ride. The story I was told and lived served me very well until it didn't. So, I decided to write my own story. In the process I was deemed crazy by the outside world and faced a lot of challenge and criticism. In this episode I get real and vulnerable, and share deeper than ever some of challenges I have overcome. I am not a coach who teaches it, I am a coach who lives it. In the past decade I have dealt with: Loneliness Scarcity Loss Death Divorce Abuse Deception Acceptance Forgiveness Homelessness Family Struggles Health Challenges Legal Battle Financial Challenges New Beliefs and Paradigms And through it all I have maintained an overall positive attitude and have created a life full of freedom, abundance, love and fun. Getting real and vulnerable creates powerful connection. Have a listen and if it resonate with you let's connect. And let's all get better at telling new stories and enjoying the ride. It's a good one.

In past episodes I have shared vulnerably how my biggest fear in life was being alone, and I faced the reality of being very alone for several years as I made some major life changes. As with any self limiting belief, when an emotional event programs it, it can be hard to change. My alone paradigm was strong and was showing up in my personal life, as well as my professional life. The crazy part was that I had actually had gotten pretty comfortable with it. Throughout life, whenever I've gotten comfortable with something … I know a curveball is coming. This show is a perfect example and on this episode we announce a new co-host and regular contributor to the podcast. Kaitlin Baker is a beautiful bad ass that is not afraid to step up and call me out when I get out of line, and she definitely gives me permission to be my authentic self. She adds spunk & spice, and is the best I know at cheering others on. I am so excited to have her along for the ride. Working and taking on life together is an adventure and full of opportunities to deepen connection on every level. We keep it real, we get vulnerable and we choose each other in every moment. We are anything but pros and if we can have it, so can you! Whether you've been together 50 years, 1 day, or you're searching for your soul partner. Everyone deserves true deep connection and the great news is, it starts with YOU!
Vanity is something we all have to deal with. How we feel about how we look can have a huge effect on our psyche and our overall sense of well-being. In this episode our guest, the beautiful and talented Laura Savage, shares her story of discovery in finding her true love and beauty inside. As a successful nurse practitioner she spends her days working with men and women who are looking to fine tune and improve their outside appearance. She is also very attuned to the work that is required inside. This is a powerful episode on the power of finding YOU and your true beauty & strength from within. Laura shares her journey through school and life and how when she finally arrived at what she thought was her goal she found herself unhappy and unsatisfied. It was after a period of isolation and huge personal growth that she figured out her true purpose and who she really is. If you have ever struggled with self image this episode may be just what the doctor ordered. We don't attract what we want in this life we attract who we are. If you want to do better, having a strong loving relationship with your self is key. If you want to buy the lips, and that makes YOU feel beautiful do it! At the end of the day you always have been, and always will be, enough… just as you are.
Maybe your life is really good right now and you are not really looking to change. Maybe you are very content and you think how could it get any better? Maybe you know it could get a little better but it's not worth the challenge or struggle. Maybe you are in a comfort zone. Or maybe just maybe, you are like me. After so many years of thinking I was I good, after so many years of being stuck in good…. I woke up one day and found out I was not good at all. In fact I was on my way downhill fast and everything was crumbling around me. Despite all of the amazing things I had created outside, inside I was a mess. When I finally decided I could use a little change it was so far gone that I discovered myself in a really bad situation as I basically eliminated everything in my life that was not serving me anymore and started over. The theme of this episode is change and my new book I coauthored called “The Change.” This episode is for you as I share my journey of transformation from being unhealthy, sick and broke to now being happy, healthy and wealthy. I went from my worst to my very best in just a few short years. I am ready to share all the details to assist others. I have a proven process that I have used myself to create the life of my dreams. Have you ever felt alone? Have you ever craved better connection and relationships in your life? I know I have. Six years ago I started a path of personal development and change in my life that created a few years of me being really alone. During this process I created space to work on myself and find myself. On the other side of that, I met my tribe. My soul mate and my best friend. In this episode Kaitlin, Janetha, and I share the way we met and created The Dream Team friendship; a true tribe of powerful humans that love and support each other. If you want better connections and ideas on how to find the “magic” in every day life, this episode is full of gems. Being open and looking for dragon flies and road runners. Your perception changes your reality and you have the power to change your experience in every moment. We are all on our own path. Be strong enough to listen and go the road alone. Be strong enough to do something that seems crazy to everybody else. The strength that comes in that space creates the the growth that attracts the new people, the new experiences. You create your vibe, which creates your experience, and in that process attracts your tribe!
No such thing as coincidence and this episode I begin talking about the passing of my magical 11/11 Grandma and the synchronicity in it, not realizing that this is episode 11 of my solo episodes. Life is full of surprise and beautiful synchronicity but sometimes we are not ready to receive it. There are stories of people asking for abundance and the universe delivering exactly what they asked for. However, for whatever reason, they are not able and ready to accept it. It can be like buying a lotto ticket and then never checking to see if we won. Why is it as humans that we are not very open and willing to receive from others? Is it that we are so programmed to be self reliant? Is it that we are so programmed we have to work hard for everything? Is it that at a deeper level our subconscious mind is so programmed to keep us safe and efficient, that it blocks us with out us even being consciously aware of it? I am starting to believe, from years of experience, that the latter is the case. Take a dive with me as I talk about the power of being open and willing to receive from others. Sometimes it shows up in a different form, sometimes it is easier than we thought it could be. Regardless of the situation you have to be aware of this and YOU have to be open and ready to receive. You asked for it. You have done the work for it. You are enough. And most importantly, You deserve it. The only thing getting in your way, is YOU. Are YOU ready to receive this message?
In this episode we continue the conversation with Jennilyn Griffiths about gut health and finding solutions to your health challenges. She shares an analogy of having a rock in your shoe and having someone try to numb your foot rather than remove the rock. Let's talk about spending more time finding the cause of our health challenges rather than trying to treat and numb the symptoms . Remove the rock! Sometimes it takes time and patience to do the work and take control of your health rather than follow and just accept treatments that don't make sense to you. Anxiety can sometimes be a symptom of something else going on. Rather than just accept your are an anxious person find out what makes you anxious and let's solve that. Identify what is taking your power and you might find yourself taking back control of your anxiety. Are you ready to feel happy, healthy and whole? Let's tap into the power of your mind and create better health and wellness. You are enough and you deserve to take the time and spend the money to take care of YOU.
For a lot of us growing up meant being exposed to different outside pressures and opinions on how we should look on the outside. Both men and women face unique challenges in maintaining a positive body image and ultimately our mental health can be effected. Todays guest is a wealth of information and certifications on health and wellness and her particular passion is gut health and it's link to mental health. Jennilyn Griffiths shares her early struggles with this issue and her journey to a happy healthy mind and body. She is a powerful woman full of energy and knowledge. You will want a notepad for this first of a two part series on health and wellness. Turns out a happy gut is key to enjoying the ride.
How does it get better? This a statement I have used for the past several years with clients when they are sharing a win or a success. The idea is that sometimes as humans we get to a win or a place of success and when life feels really good, we almost prepare ourselves subconsciously for the next challenge. When will the other shoe show, or this feels too good to be true. It always gets better and in this moment we can find gratitude for what we have and how far we have come and also be excited for life to get even better. I have recently shifted to a new statement that builds on this concept of life getting better and it is “This is just the beginning “. Are you ready for your best days to be ahead of you? In this episode we dive deep into the power of your subconscious mind and how understanding and improving it at a deep level gives us the ability to create our own experience moment to moment. If we tap into the power of this mind we have been gifted by our creator and take control of the programming anything and everything is possible for YOU. You might want to put this episode on repeat. And remember, “This is just the beginning “
As a mindset mentor and coach one of my greatest gifts is my ability to see the potential in others and help them remove the mental blind spots holding them back. It wasn't until I met Kaitlin Baker that I realized the full power and potential of being a true cheerleader in life. She taught me that we can borrow our belief to others in a powerful way by simply encouraging and celebrating them in every moment. In this episode we discuss the Pygmalion Effect and how having some one believe in you and cheer you on can me a complete game changer. Unfortunately in life we have people including loved ones that don't always celebrate our wins. In fact they sometimes do the complete opposite. Instead of lifting us up and believing we can they find fault and the reasons we can't. Surrounding yourself with people that celebrate YOU and your wins is the difference between staying stagnant and having major wins. Life is full of challenges and a key part of enjoying the ride is celebrating every win no matter how small. You are kind of a big deal, find that belief in yourself and surround yourself with people that cheer you on.
It's ok to not be ok. We live in a world and time that is so full of opportunity and things to be grateful for that it can be a very challenging situation when you find yourself not really enjoying the ride. It has been said that we attract everything into our experience with our thoughts so when I found myself in a challenging place physically, emotionally, and financially a few years ago personally I had to come to grips with the fact that it's really ok to not be ok sometimes. This episode I share what I have learned from my challenges and others in this life and encourage you to find grace exactly where you are. It is hard to hear life is happening for you when you are in a tough spot and this episode is all about acknowledging and accepting this. And also asking for and receiving help if you need it. You are never alone and in your toughest hour there is always some one that is willing to listen and offer assistance. It's not a sign of weakness to ask for help, it's actually a strength. Please share this episode with anyone you know that may be struggling and I am always available if YOU need to talk!
Have you ever questioned yourself? You know you are pretty amazing, and people that know you may even say, “Look at her! I want what she has!” Yet inside, there can be a very different story. In this week's episode, we take a look within with one of my best friends. We dive into her journey of true self love and confidence. From a very young age, she had experiences with friends and loved ones that created a pattern for her where people she cared about would abandon her, and that ultimately she was hard to love. Like any self limiting belief this, was not true and not hers. Using a passion for self discovery and work, she has taken a path that led her to our meeting and to her current state of enjoying the ride. She talks about finding and healing your inner child, and the importance of the mindset of everything in life happens for you- not to you. If you want true connection in this world it starts with you and your connection with yourself and your beautiful inner child. It's never too late to start and you are anything but hard to love. You are God's greatest creation and deserve all the love this world has to offer, you just have to find it in YOU.
In physics there is a principle called least action that deals with using the minimum of energy multiplied by the minimum amount of time. This is the fastest, easiest way to accomplish something in the physical world. With mindset we can recreate this psychologically by using the simple power of assumption. Can it be that easy? Yes! We are programmed from a very young age to make things more difficult than they need to be. Work harder! Try harder! Like water runs down a mountain side, the path we are trying to take can be that easy. If we find ourself fighting to go up hill it might be time to take a different approach. Let go of what you think it is supposed to look like. Let go of that story you have been telling yourself. Struggling to accomplish something that is not working, is not efficient or very effective. Be like water, water is powerful! And it ALWAYS chooses the effortless way. Stop trying and doing, and start trusting and allowing. I am Happy. I am Abundant. I am Healthy. I am Whole. I am Enough.
What if I choose me? Kaitlin Baker. This weeks guest holds a very special place in my heart. We first met at a personal development program here in SLC. She was there to work on herself and her relationship. I was there mainly because my daughter had done the program and had great results and she really wanted me to do it. Fast forward a couple of years and we are now in a committed romantic relationship and have both learned and grown so much from that chance first meeting. The theme of this podcast is learning how to love yourself. Learning how to choose yourself. Sometimes it feels selfish to those that spend a lifetime serving others to actually serve and choose themselves. We also discuss the power of leaning in and being vulnerable. Learning how to stay painfully positive and still feel and be authentic and real can be transformational. Powerful discussion with a powerful woman. “If does not matter who chooses me, if I don't choose myself!” KB
When talking about mindset there is this concept of “fake it until you make it”. The idea is that you imagine you are already there until you are. If you want to be the greatest at something and you currently are just a beginner, you hold in your mind what it looks and feels like to be the greatest. You have to hold it in your mind until it becomes a subconscious belief. This can be challenging to imagine on the inside of your mind something much different than what is real on the outside and in the physical world. Goes against everything we have been taught about results. In this weeks episode we take a deep dive into the concept of Praxis. This is a level of belief in what you want that you don't currently have that guides your actions at a subconscious level. Full alignment of belief and action creates powerful results. Come on now, LETS GO!!
Have you ever felt out of place? Maybe asked yourself if you deserved to be where you are? Has life ever gotten so good that you found yourself wondering when and where the next challenge is coming from? In this weeks episode Bill Chase, successful business owner, husband, father, and friend of Shawn's shares a candid conversation on the ups and downs of his business and the power of never giving up. He shares lessons learned from his experience as a collegiate athlete to powering is way through the 2008 recession and growing his business over the last decade. Celebrating wins, building momentum, and never getting stuck in between the gap of where you are and where you want to be. Bill has a magnetic personality and one of the best Boston accents. Real world conversion with real world take aways! Life is good and you definitely deserve to be here.
Getting outside of your comfort zone is something that is talked about a lot in the world of personal development. “Get comfortable outside of your comfort zone” sounds great.. but what does that REALLY mean? In this powerful episode, Shawn breaks down the battle in your mind when you decide you deserve a change, but then everything inside of you says to stop and say the same. From first hand experience, he speaks about the fear of leaving a 20 year career, a 20 year relationship, and starting over from scratch. Danger is real, fear is not. What are you afraid of?
