Take a minute, and think about what you have never done.
Been watching footage of yesterday's storms that caused a ton of damage in Horicon & Lomira, WI. More rain & thunderstorms in our area today, but much cooler with a high of just 71° expected. Also in the news this morning, an Air Canada pilot flew hundreds of flights over almost 20 years with a fake license, actor Tyler Mane is battling breast cancer, Coors Light introduces the TALLER boy for the upcoming World Cup, and a Delta flight had to be diverted after a passenger slapped a flight attendant on the ass. In sports, the Brewers dropped another one to the A's yesterday, the Knicks came all the way back from a 27-point deficit at halftime last night to beat the Spurs & go up 3-1 in the NBA Finals, the NHL Stanley Cup final continues tonight on ABC, Patrick Mahomes is getting PAID, and a Rams player is arrested for felony domestic assault. We talked about what's on TV today/tonight and discussed the hold-up for a "Home Improvement" reboot. Plus, the trailer for the Green Day road-trip movie dropped yesterday. It's "Hypothetical Thursday", so we asked each other hypothetical questions. Jean's question for Brian was: " " And Brian's question for Jean was: " " Office Cora also joined us just after 8am to let us know what she's up to this weekend in the 715. According to a new survey, 5% of Americans have never played Monopoly! Elsewhere in sports, a bunch of World Cup stuff as the games get started later today. We talked about the schedule, Somali ref that was denied entry into the US, and the favorites to win the tournament. Great story out of Milwaukee about a garbage man who rescued a starving dog. And massive efforts are underway to clean up the trash in the ocean as Los Angeles gets ready to host the Summer Olympics in 2028. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaMan who was wankin' his crank in a McDonald's parking lot in broad daylight, another #FloridaMan who went to a Walmart just to set a bunch of bras on fire, a former Christian school teacher who was having sex with a student, and another #FloridaMan who broke into a convenience store to steal cigarettes...alcohol...bologna & cheese...and some scratch tickets!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send Steve a Text MessageRemote collaboration sounds like magic until you try it and realize the real challenge is boring: everyone needs the same roadmap, the same tempo, and a track that starts cleanly. We walk you through the exact home recording process we use to prep a remote band collab, using a fast, punk-leaning version of “Help” (in the style heard in the movie “Yesterday”) as a simple, practical example. We start where every successful remote recording starts: listen, confirm the key, grab a chord chart if it saves time, and lock in the BPM so the whole project stays tight. From there we build a scratch track in the DAW with a basic drum guide (EZ Drummer 3), clear section markers, and double-tracked guitars that make it easy for other players to follow the arrangement. We also show why a count-in and a consistent click track matter more than fancy tones when you're sending files across the internet. Then we get into the handoff that makes drummers happy: muting the guide drums, rendering the metronome to its own audio track, and panning click to one ear and guitar to the other for an effortless tracking mix. Finally, we explain the send-and-return workflow for stems, what to expect back from bass and drums, and how to mix everything together before sending a stronger reference to the singer. If you want remote music collaboration to feel simple, repeatable, and fun, hit play, then subscribe, share this with a musician friend, and leave a review with your biggest remote-recording challenge. Thanks for being here!! What if everything you've been told about fitness, hormones, dieting, and “healthy habits” was built for the WRONG body? In this episode of Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, Dr. Stacy Sims (exercise physiologist and leading expert in female nutrition & performance) exposes the shocking truth about why women are STILL misunderstood in science, and how it's silently wrecking health, metabolism, and longevity. Dr. Sims breaks down: – Why women are drastically underrepresented in research (and why it's more complicated than just sexism) – Hidden biological & hormonal differences that make “one-size-fits-all” health advice completely ineffective for women – Dark side of GLP-1 weight loss drugs, diet culture, and over-exercising, and how they're quietly destroying quality of life – Strength training: Why lifting heavy is the key to fat loss, brain health, longevity, & hormonal balance – Alarming link between contraceptives, brain development, anxiety, & bone density in young women – Why fasting doesn't work the same for women & how it can backfire hard – Why women NEED higher body fat & why chasing “lean” can be harmful – Overlooked connection between muscle, glucose control, brain function, & osteoporosis prevention – How poor nutrition is ruining your sleep (and the surprising food that can fix it fast) – Dangers hiding in peptides – Why most multivitamins are failing you (and how too much of ONE nutrient can actually harm you) – Nutrient deficiencies almost everyone is dealing with (especially if you're busy, stressed, & overworked) – Why diet & exercise feel impossible for so many women & the systemic reasons behind it – Science behind saunas, cold plunges, & whether they're actually worth it – Creatine explained like never before: brain fog, stress resilience, ADHD, sleep cycles, muscle performance - who needs it & how much – Why you might be drinking water WRONG (and how overhydration is making you bloated) – Shocking differences in lifespan vs. healthspan between men and women, especially for Alzheimer's & dementia – How strength training can literally protect your brain as you age – 5 NON-NEGOTIABLE habits every woman needs during perimenopause & menopause – Fiber intake mistakes that are wrecking gut health and hormones (especially after 40) – Why Hormone Replacement Therapy isn't the answer for everyone, and what to do instead – How AI & social media are spreading dangerous health misinformation (why women are the biggest targets!) This isn't just another health episode, this is a wake-up call. If you've ever felt like your body isn't responding the way it “should”…you're not broken. The system is. This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Molly Roberts, Roger Parloff, and Tyler McBrien to talk through the week's big national security news stories, including:“Jim Spells Seashells By the Seashore.” Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted again this past week, this time for allegedly threatening the life of the president by spelling “8647” in shells at the beach and posting an image on social media. It is a ludicrous argument. So what does it tell us that Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was willing to file it? And where does Trump's broader vengeance campaign seem likely to go from here, under whoever becomes the next Attorney General?“We Were on a Break!” The Iran War turned 60 days old last week—the deadline by which, under the War Powers Resolution, the president is supposed to wrap up any congressionally unauthorized military operations. But like many of its predecessors, the Trump administration has done no such thing. Instead, it's argued that the 60-day cut-off was already met by the ongoing ceasefire—even though the Trump administration has continued its embargo of Iranian oil resources and began a new major maritime campaign to open the Strait of Hormuz, triggering exchanges of fire with Iranian forces. What should we make of these arguments? And do they suggest the War Powers Resolution is a dead letter?“Strictly Ballroom.” The Trump administration is actively working to capitalize on the recent assassination attempt on Trump to push a federal court to allow its construction of an East Wing ballroom on national security grounds. At the same time, it's faced new judicial headwinds in its quixotic effort to take over a municipal golf course—the same location where it dumped the (potentially toxic) rubble of the demolished old East Wing. What do these cases tell us about Trump's efforts to reshape our nation's capital? And how legitimate are the new efforts to tie these cases to national security? In object lessons, Roger is revisiting Azar Nafisi's “Reading Lolita in Tehran,” a tough, yet beautiful read with unfortunate persistent relevance. Molly is memorializing the current metro landscape with her desk globe of Washington, D.C. Scott is sharing his remembrance of Stewart Baker, forever a friend of Lawfare. And Tyler is taking us back to 1971 Boston and Catholic resistance to the Vietnam War with the Divine Intervention podcast. To receive ad-free podcasts, become a Lawfare Material Supporter at www.patreon.com/lawfare. Is your "niceness" actually a survival tactic? Erica Bonham joins Josh to reveal why niceness is often a performance used to mask anxiety, while true kindness is a "muscle" built through honesty and direct feedback. They discuss the "soup of society" we all swim in and how old traumas can turn leaders into rigid, "power-over" bosses. Erica explains the biology of leadership—how your vagus nerve communicates with your team's "bullshit detectors"—and why performing calm isn't enough. You have to actually be regulated. In this episode, you'll learn: ✅ Niceness vs. Kindness: Why niceness is self-preservation, but kindness is a gift of honesty and growth. ✅ The Nervous System Toolkit: Moving beyond "head bubbles" into somatic practices to anchor yourself in your lower belly. ✅ The "Strongest Nervous System" Wins: How a leader's regulation (or dysregulation) is literally contagious to the entire room. ✅ Shadow Work: Why "gruff" leadership styles are often just trauma adaptations designed to prevent being a victim again. ✅ Vulnerability as Strength: Why naming the "anxiety in the room" builds more trust than pretending everything is "rainbows and sunshine." ✅ Differentiation: How real connection requires a healthy degree of separation and knowing where you end and your team begins. Hour 2 in full
In this episode of That Ain't in the Bible, Jonathan and Brandon tackle one of the most famous phrases in church life: “We've never done it that way before.” While it might sound spiritual, the guys take a closer look at whether that mindset actually comes from Scripture—or simply from tradition and comfort.Along the way, they talk about the difference between biblical convictions and personal preferences, why churches sometimes struggle with change, and how faithful churches can hold firmly to the truth of God's Word while still adapting methods to reach people. With a little humor, some honest observations about Southern Baptist church culture, and a reminder that the message of the gospel never changes—even if methods sometimes do, this episode challenges listeners to examine whether their thinking is shaped more by the Bible or by “the way we've always done it.”Spoiler alert: the phrase “We've never done it that way before”… definitely ain't in the Bible.
She allegedly poisoned her husband for the money. The forensic accountant just showed the jury exactly how desperate that financial situation was.Brooke Karrington—a thirty-year expert who reviewed hundreds of thousands of documents—testified that by March 2022, Kouri Richins carried $7.5 million in debt. Monthly payments totaled $80,000. Four payday lenders collected $2,100 from her daily. Her business account was "perpetually in the hole." December 2021 recorded 77 overdraft transactions. She was writing checks to herself that bounced. One day after Eric Richins died, Kouri purchased a $2.9 million mansion in Midway, Utah. Seven days later, she listed it for sale. It foreclosed. The $1.35 million she collected from Eric's life insurance policies was entirely spent within three months. By September 2022, records show she had roughly $800 left. The defense argues the financial evidence is speculative and proves nothing about murder. But their cross-examination may have accomplished something more significant: exposing an investigation they say was outcome-driven from the start.Dr. Erik Christensen admitted tests that could have determined whether Eric was a long-term fentanyl user—urine, eye fluid, liver tissue, hair follicles—were never performed. Carmen Lauber admitted testing positive for methamphetamine, changing her story after immunity deals, and being told by a detective that "the goal is to convict Kouri for aggravated murder."The kitchen and basement were never searched the night Eric died. The copperware used for the Moscow Mules was never tested. An empty hydrocodone bottle in Eric's nightstand was never analyzed. Investigators only returned for certain items after a private investigator flagged them. The defense has 35 witnesses waiting. Did they peak too early—or are they just getting started?Kouri Richins is presumed innocent until proven guilty.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Send us a textIn this deeply moving episode, Joey Pinz sits down with Erica Bonham, a trauma recovery therapist, EMDR clinician, and author of Always Enough, Never Done. Together, they explore how healing doesn't happen through willpower or “positive thinking”—it begins in the body.Erica reveals the difference between “big T” and “little t” trauma, how experiences get stored in the nervous system, and why self-compassion is a biological necessity, not a luxury. She opens up about her own story of adoption, identity, and transformation—showing that what breaks us can also become the soil for growth. You'll learn how to calm your body's alarm system, regulate your vagus nerve, and approach personal change with both structure and softness.
