Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? 1 Corinthians 11:23-31The Lord’s Supper23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same way He tookthe cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.

The Great Commission

As in many of Paul's letters, this one to the Ephesians was discussing the division of the church. We live in a world divided. We should not model the church to look like the world, but we should model the world to look like the church.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NKJV) 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Our society is very based on personal experience, even though the same event can be viewed differently by different people. Such is with our walk with Jesus - how have you experienced God personally in your life?

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees;[ a] for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

All the lords of the Philistines were there—about three thousand men and women on the roof watching while Samson performed.28 Then Samson called to the Lord, saying, “O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. 30 Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

The real story of the first Christmas is far better than what the movies and TV shows portray.

The world is in chaos and the church is the answer. What does the world see as evidence of Jesus Christ this Christmas, in us?

Often times we feel forgotten because we have forgotten God. But He hasn't forgotten us.

Ezekiel was given a vision of water flowing from the temple. As he went further out, the water became deeper and deeper until it became a river. God asked Ezekiel, "Son of man, have you seen this?" Sometimes we don't always see what God wants us to see.

It's easy to worship God when everything is going well in life. It's during the most difficult times of our lives that we must continue to worship despite our circumstances.

We're often distracted by everything that goes on around us in the world, we fail to be sensitive to the spirit of God and the divine things that He is doing in our life. We must look around and notice what God is doing in our midst.

2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." God instructs us to take action and He will be faithful to heal our land.

When we go out into the world, we need to put on the full armor of God to protect ourselves from evil.

We were all drowning and Jesus threw us a lifesaver.

There are quite a few times in the bible that God asks questions. If God is all-knowing, what is the purpose of these questions?

Each of us will stand before the lord and be held accountable for our lives in Christ. How does knowing Christ make us different?
