Sermon Notes Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭37‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." Judge = krinó. It means to pronounce someone as good or evil (like in a court of law). Remember: "Context is king" Loving my enemies means: 1) Lending to them without expecting repayment (Luke 6:27) 2) Blessing them instead of cursing them (Luke 6:28) 3) Returning their curses with prayers (Luke 6:28) 4) Doing to them as you want them to do to you (Luke 6:31) 5) Being merciful to them, as God is merciful to you (Luke 6:36) 6) Not judging them (Luke 6:37) 7) Not condemning them (Luke 6:37) 8) Forgiving them (Luke 6:37) This kind of "love" is what sets the follower of Christ apart from those who do not follow Christ. Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭36‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." Jesus' assumption is that I already do these things for my loved ones. He is encouraging us to go ahead and do it for everyone. Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭38‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭39‬-‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ He also told them this parable: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit? The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher." The goal is to be more like Jesus Christ. Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭41‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" Both planks and specs are from the same thing. Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭42‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ "How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." The alternative to judgment is assistance in love. Before you assist: first deal with your own stuff. "…first take the plank out of your eye". Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭43‬-‭44 ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬ "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers." ‭‭Before you assist: Earn the right to be close. "…then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye". Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭45 ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬ "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Ask yourself: Is there any plank I need to deal with that I am ignoring? Is there anyone I need to show mercy to rather than condemnation and judgment? Is there anyone I need to seek forgiveness from for judging them in the past? Is there anyone with a "spec in their eye", that I am close to, that God is calling me to help them "clean out their eye"?

My name is Chris Fluitt and I want to tell that is the Sunday after Easter, and Jesus is still risen and we still have reason to celebrate. Greetings to everyone worshipping with us in person in the beautiful city of Plano, Tx.A big Texas welcome to everyone joining is online. I want everyone to join me in Matthew 15 where we will read 21-28.   I want God to move in my life tonight.I want God to move in your life tonight.Who wants God to move?Who believes God will move tonight?   Matthew 15:21-28 (NIV) 21Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.22A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” 23Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” 24He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” 25The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. 26He replied, “It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs.” 27“Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table.” 28Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.   The Children's Bread I want to talk to you about the Children's Bread.   This story of Jesus and the Canaanite woman features the children's bread. Did you catch it in the story?   Do we know what the children's bread is?   What is the Children's bread?   26He replied, “It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs.”   22A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”   28Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.   Bread represents - Sustenance, strength, vitality, food… Bread is earned by the work of an authority (like a father) and given the children.   Jesus speaks of a bread that belongs to God's children.   Supernatural Bread   Do you agree Jesus is talking about Supernatural Bread?   The Canaanite woman asked for Jesus to do something about her daughter who is under the power of a demon and is suffering.  Is it supernatural bread?   The story ends with the daughter healed and the suffering and rule of the demon coming to an end.  Is it supernatural bread?   We need supernatural bread.   Quick reminded of supernatural bread in your Bible.   Matt 6:11 (NIV) Give us today our daily bread. Jesus teaches us to pray for Bread straight from God.   Bread from heaven… Manna in the Exodus story. John 6:33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”   34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”   Jesus is that bread from heaven…   John 6:35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.   God gives bread straight from Heaven. Jesus is that bread. Does God provide supernatural bread to His children still?   1 tim 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.   *Luke 11:11 (NIV) 11“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for for bread, will give him a stone?... Luke 11”13 (NIV) 13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” If you ask for bread… the father gives you bread.If you ask for the Holy Spirit… the Father gives you the Holy Spirit. Supernatural Bread   In the case of Matthew 15, it is clear that the Children's Bread was deliverance from an evil spirit and healing.

I was just drifting off to sleep when the rude sound of my 12-year-old brother running down the hallway and calling my mum, startled me – seriously, I could strangle that boy! Frustrated and annoyed I jumped out of bed and reluctantly got ready for the day. My best friend Angela was still on holidays with her family and wouldn't come till the end of the week. I groaned – I missed her. I wish I could wave my finger and Friday would arrive in a blink of an eye...." "Edward had glanced at the clock in the train station. He was supposed to catch the express train to Jammu and then go from Jammu to Katra. The mission station where he lived and went to school was in the Himalayan mountains of Kashmir, northern India. And now the boy had struck up a conversation, seemingly eager for Edward's company. The small Indian boy glanced at Edward. His eyes were bright. “The train will come soon,” the boy told Edward once again. “What's your name?” Edward asked. The boy seemed surprised that anyone would want to know his name. “Sadu is my name. I come with you, yes?” Sadu asked hopefully. Edward chuckled. “Wouldn't your family miss you?” The boy shuffled his feet and looked at the ground. “I have no family,” Sadu replied without emotion. So he's an orphan, Edward thought sadly." Give Up!“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬God brought HIMSELF TO ME so He could bring ME TO HIMSELF. “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:32‬ ‭NIV‬‬Jesus became LIKE ME so I could become LIKE HIM. “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬Jesus GAVE UP everything so I could GAIN everything. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬So what should be my response? - GIVE UP!“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬Salvation is FREE but it will COST ME everything. “In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.”‭‭Luke‬ ‭14:33‬ ‭NIV‬‬Giving up is not all about what I have to LOSE but is all about what I stand to GAIN. “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Forward and Onward without giving in to Discouragement “The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes and say ‘O God, forgive me, or Help me’” – Billy Graham    By Pastor George Lehman Faith must always pass the test of discouragement. Hebrews 12:3 (NIV) – Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. The reason I want to talk about discouragement again is because very few things can rob us from our joy and passion for life, like discouragement. If you are battling with discouragement, I believe if you make a determined choice after hearing this word and put it into practice you will live a courageous life – We look at 2020 and think can life get any worse. However, a courageous person approaches life very differently. We must make a commitment to change and apply God’s word to our lives. Job 4: 4-6 (NIV) – 4Your words have supported those who stumbled: you have strengthened faltering knees. 5But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged; it strikes you, and you are dismayed. 6Should not your piety be your confidence and your blameless ways your hope? I would say that discouragement is probably the greatest attack of Satan on our lives. (story of the wedge of discouragement – courage kicks it out). The moment we take our eyes off Jesus and you focus on your problems – discouragement will creep in. Colossians 3:2 (NIV) – Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things   Proverbs 4:25 (NIV) – Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. The devil knows, Discouragement will result in sin and going astray: You become Spiritually drained and it’s harder for you to pray You stop seeking God You stop reading your Bible This is exactly what Satan wants to do, Plant seeds of doubt. Signs of Discouragement: (May alarms go off in your life) #1. An Attitude of ingratitude The seeds of discouragement will not grow in a Thankful heart. Look at what you have, not at what you don’t have. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) – Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Discouragement leads to selfishness all about me. Israel is a perfect example of a people who became discouraged that they became ungrateful. Numbers 14:2-4 (NIV) – 2All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! 3Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”   God’s response: Numbers 14:11-12 (NIV) – 11The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? 12I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger then they.” It’s when discouragement is allowed to set in, we begin to forget all God has done for us in the past – we become ungrateful. #2. A critical fault-finding Attitude A discouraged person battles to say anything positive or anything good. All they ever do is criticise, complain, find fault and are judgemental. We become careless with our tongue. When you discouraged you want everybody to be miserable and unhappy too! (God doesn’t like murmurers #3. Discouragement leads to doubt and unbelief. When discouragement sets in it leaves us temporarily blind to the many truths of God. We lose sight of God’s goodness, kindness, generosity, and love. The things we believed in were passionate about Yesterday, we doubt today. #4. Discouragement leads to a weak watch against temptation. 1 Peter 5:8 LB “Be careful—watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart.” We let our guard down when we upset with life.   #5. Discouragement leads to giving up. If you allow discouragement to continue, it will suck the energy and passion out of your life. Galatians 6:9 (NIV) - Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. We give up reading the word, praying, coming to church and home cells; we give up feeding our Spiritual lives. #6. Discouragement leads to becoming a discourager. (We become instruments for the devil) Instead of being an encourager, a motivator, speaking words of joy and comfort to others, we become: Ungrateful Critical and negative We show doubt and unbelief We reflect a poor example by giving into temptation We become angry people We lose our testimony and just give up Hebrews 3:12-13 (NIV) – 12Beware then of your own hearts, dear brothers, lest you find that they, too are evil and unbelieving and are leading you away from the living God. 13Speak to each other about these things every day while there is still time so that none of you will become hardened against God, being blinded by the glamour of sin. I have found its no one else’s job to keep my Spirit up and filled with Courage. Yes the preaching helps, our fellow brothers and sisters help, but the only person that keeps me encouraged is Myself! 1 Samuel 30:6 (KJV) - And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. Forward and Onward without giving into Discouragement. Communion Due to not being able to gather to have communion, we must realize the power is within us. 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 (NIV) – 24And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25in the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me” 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Communion is more than simply remembering When Jesus said, “Do this…” He was asking us to also do what He was doing. Matthew 14:27 (NIV) – But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

For our final day this week, we’ll focus on several verses that can encourage you and also are great to share with your kids. One of the best ways to teach them biblical principles such as stewardship, generosity, faithfulness, and blessing is through reading, repeating, meditating on, and memorizing Scripture together. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” (Luke 6:38 NLT) Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:7-9 NLT) Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. (Psalm 37:3-4 NLT) God knows how important your finances are to you and the life of your family. He knows what you need even before you need it. He wants to take care of you and your kids. The more you surrender to Him, the more your kids will learn the same. The more they see you obey God’s Word in faithfulness, the more they will learn His ways. Showing them first-hand how to rely on the Lord and place your lives into His hands will set them up for success in life, regardless of money now or money to come. For the Christ-follower, everything in life is spiritual. We hope this week you have decided to view your finances through God’s will, from God’s hand. Let’s pray: “Heavenly Father, a dollar bill is just a physical resource, but what we do and how we handle our finances is such an important part of our spiritual life. Teach me to teach my kids Your ways, Your will, and Your Word. As above, so below.”

And the way we do them matters to God. Adam continues our series by going through how Christ looks at our motives for these spiritual practices. Give, Pray, Fast Sermon on the Mount | Week 5 June 24, 2018 | Adam Barnett Refugee in Egypt Burmese Refugees at Redeemer Matthew 6:1 (NIV) Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. RIGHT THINGS can be done with WRONG MOTIVES. Righteousness that is SELF-SERVING or SELF-PROMOTING is competition with God for glory. Matthew 6:2-4 (NIV) So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:5-8 (NIV) And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Matthew 6:16-18 (NIV) When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Six Values of Fasting The sacrifice of physical to activate the spiritual. The value of self-discipline. The release from slavery to habit. The increase of the ability to do without things. The positive value for holistic health. The enhancement of our gratitude. CHECK your MOTIVES, and eagerly ANTICIPATE the reward that is to come.

To lead people into a new life of freedom in Jesus. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 (NIV) “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 (NIV) No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 (NIV) Before your freedom will ever be EXPERIENCED, it will be SPOKEN. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21-22 (NIV) He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. James 2:17 (NIV) The words of Nehemiah son of Hakaliah: In the month of Kislev in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa, Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem. Nehemiah 1:1-11 (NIV) They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. When the problem came, He TOOK PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.  I went to Jerusalem, and after staying there three days I set out during the night with a few others. I had not told anyone what my God had put in my heart to do for Jerusalem… Nehemiah 2:11-18 (NIV) By night I went out through the Valley Gate toward the Jackal Well and the Dung Gate, examining the walls of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire. Then I moved on toward the Fountain Gate and the King's Pool, but there was not enough room for my mount to get through; so I went up the valley by night, examining the wall. Finally, I turned back and reentered through the Valley Gate. The officials did not know where I had gone or what I was doing, because as yet I had said nothing to the Jews or the priests or nobles or officials or any others who would be doing the work. Nehemiah 2:11-18 (NIV) Then I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. Nehemiah 2:11-18 (NIV) They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work. Nehemiah 2:11-18 (NIV) 2. When he fully grasped the situation, he ASKED FOR HELP. Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel. Nehemiah 3:1(NIV) So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart. Nehemiah 4:6-15 (NIV) But when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the people of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem's walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry. They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat. Nehemiah 4:6-15 (NIV) Meanwhile, the people in Judah said, “The strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall.” Also our enemies said, “Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work.” Nehemiah 4:6-15 (NIV) Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, “Wherever you turn, they will attack us.” Nehemiah 4:6-15 (NIV) Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. Nehemiah 4:6-15 (NIV) After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” Nehemiah 4:6-15 (NIV)  When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work. Nehemiah 4:6-15 (NIV)  3. When opposition came, he STAYED FOCUSED. …so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?” Four times they sent me the same message, and each time I gave them the same answer… Nehemiah 6:3-4 (NIV)  Stop giving attention to the voice of opposition and stay focused on the good work God has put in front of you. When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God. Nehemiah 6:16 (NIV) Too often we are waiting for the miraculous and God is just waiting for faithfulness.

Message Title: Instructions for a New Year Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 (NIV) Create and fight for a culture of HONOR. RELATIONAL PEACE is a result of MUTUAL RESPECT. And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive… 1 Thessalonians 5:14 (NIV) Warn the IDLE and DISRUPTIVE. …encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 1 Thessalonians 5:14 (NIV) Look beyond YOURSELF. Looking beyond YOURSELF is how you get beyond WHERE YOU ARE. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. 1 Thessalonians 5:15 (NIV) Live for the OTHER person's good. Love is living for the other person's good. Rejoice always…1 Thessalonians 5:16 (NIV) Make a HABIT and a PRACTICE of rejoicing. …pray continually… 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV) Pray CONTINUALLY. 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting… Worship Night If you get up and pray in the dark, you will have more strength and clarity in the light. …give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) Give thanks in ALL circumstances. Giving thanks in ALL circumstances is a sure fire sign of spiritual maturity. Do not quench the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 (NIV) Don't quench the SPIRIT. You can be Spirit Led, filled and driven… without being weird. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:20-22 (NIV) Don't write off the PROPHETIC. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NIV) Allow God to SANCTIFY you through and through. Sanctify = purify, cleanse, separate, dedicate The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NIV) The life God promises IS on the other side of instructions He has given us to follow! Message Title: “PRAYER” Prayer = communication with God The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18-19 (NLT) Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) Pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:5:17 (NIV) What is the “Bathwater” of Prayer? Ignorance ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV) The worst thing you can do when it comes to prayer is to expect someone else to do it for you. Pride So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Come close to God, and God will come close to you.
