As children, and as humans, all we ever want is love. However, as we go through life - we experience hurt, pain, rejection, and other trauma wounds that slowly lead us to believe that we are either unworthy of love or that our love is conditional on how we act or be in this world. We teach ourselves that in order to be lovable we need to have the great job, 6 pack abs, incredible lifestyle. We forget the truth that we are already worthy of all the love in the universe just as we are. We forget that the only source of true love and fulfillment exists deeply within us, and that no external accomplishment can give us this feeling that we seek. The only way to heal these wounds, to remember and return to the state of eternal love that exists within us - and to give that love to others around us is to heal the parts of us that don't believe we are worthy of unconditional love. Thank you for joining me on this healing journey. I want to acknowledge and celebrate you for doing the work. It is not easy, but it is some of the most important work we can ever do on this planet. Hoooolyyy Shit. This is a special one. This episode was recorded on a 10 hour roadtrip with the incredible Jonathan Mayoza following a 4 Day retreat in Utah hosted by the powerhouse duo of Tommy Snider, CEO of Master Metabolic and Adrian Ellison - founder of the self healing & retreats organization the Alpas Project. With their leadership, 17 powerful men and women came together to explore and cultivate what it means to embody Masculinity and Femininity in their full expression. From swimming in waterfalls, to sexually charged serenades, from crying to laughter, to growth and vulnerability this weekend was the epitome of finding the edge of comfort and experiencing major breakthroughs in self expression. Jonathan and I break down the powerful experiences and learnings we received from this incredible experience - discussing everything from what it means to fully step into our manhood, the importance of self love, all the amazing bliss that awaits on the other side of our fear and discomfort, and the beauty of intimacy that can exist without sexual connotation. This discussion was easily the most raw, fun, vulnerable, and emotional discussion I've had on this platform. I can only hope that we were able to articulate the experience in a way that sheds light on how we can ALL go inward to cultivate a more potent connection with ourselves, and in doing so - with others as well. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/forge-your-path/message

"Fearvana inspires us to look beyond our agonizing experiences and find the positive side of our lives" - the Dalai Lama. Akshay is no joke. Life circumstances brought Akshay to the brink of suicide amongst a deep depression, leading him to seek answers by spending the ensuing 10 years studying the mind and our relationship to fear. This culminates with his book Fearvana, which hit #1 in Neuroscience Books on Amazon. I was so excited for this interview because this has been one of the most impactful books I've ever read in my life ( which helped me get out of a dark place of chronic drinking ). In this episode we break down many of the key elements of Fearvana, including why it is that in an era when life has never had less physical suffering that mental disorder is also at an all time high. He breaks down why we either choose our own suffering (through a greater purpose) or life gives us suffering in many forms, the importance of progress over perfection and how to identify healthy vs toxic achievement. Brad James, aka @BradintheVan, is taking Instagram by storm and it's no surprise. Brad lives an incredible life on the outside (currently touring Morocco in his van as he grows his music career), but his main draw is how incredibly open and vulnerable he is about his personal struggles. Brad used to party HARD, but after hitting rock bottom he began on a new path of self awareness and acceptance that has brought him to great heights mentally, emotionally, and physically. Throughout a 3 year process Brad has leaned into meditation, yoga, journaling, spiritual teaching, and music to transform his relationship with himself. He now impacts thousands of others on their own journeys with mental health via the platform he has built via social media. Follow Brad, you won't be disappointed! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/forge-your-path/message
