Listen in as Daniel and I discuss 'thriving matters' in an education context. It was so good to have this conversation about the direct link between wellbeing and leadership - I do hope you enjoy this. Daniel shared his journey from being an educator to working in corporate communications and returning back to teaching, highlighting his experiences in diverse communities and the challenges of burnout. He emphasized the importance of exceptional leadership in his career and reflected on personal growth through various roles. Daniel's story underscores the rewards and challenges of teaching, as well as the value of pursuing one's passion despite setbacks. Daniel shared his personal insights gained from six months of corporate work to finding fulfillment in his education career that allows him to make a positive impact on young people and the community. He emphasized the importance of surrounding himself with the right people and supporting them to collaborate towards a common direction. Daniel also discussed how he learned to focus on the big picture rather than sweating the small stuff, and the need for self-care and a personal plan to maintain well-being in the demanding role of an educator. We focused in on Daniel's thriving strategies at MLC School, including the display of student artwork and team-building activities like morning tea with gratitude shout-outs. His approach to leadership, emphasizing the importance of having a good team, building trust, and maintaining a balance between operational and strategic focus through structured meetings like the Square Table and Round Table meetings are simple and consistently effective. In 2024 Daniel attended Oxford University's high performance leadership program, which was a pivotal moment in his personal and professional life. He was selected for this week-long residential course after his principal encouraged him to pursue something outside his usual sector. Daniel gained valuable insights into global leadership and visited schools in London during his time in the UK. The program brought together leaders from 23 different countries, providing Daniel with unique opportunities for learning and connection. We also discussed the relationship between leadership and employee well-being, citing research from Oxford that showed a 60% improvement in employee health when they feel valued by leaders. We explored how feedback is crucial for leaders to provide, both to their teams and to seek themselves for improvement. The conversation concluded with Daniel emphasizing that future leadership must remain person-centered, even as AI and remote work change the learning environment, and Carrie noting the importance of educating young people about AI while developing their critical thinking skills. THE BALANCED MOMTALITY- Pelvic Floor/Core Rehab For The Pregnant and Postpartum Mom
Hey Girl! You know those moments that just make life feel so full circle? Well, that's what this episode felt like when I was interviewing my special guest for the show this week! Almost 8 yrs ago, I was just like you, searching instagram and social media for “Pelvic floor Exercises”, “Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy”, “Pregnancy Safe Exercises”, “Prenatal Pelvic Floor” and more! Coming Fresh out of Grad school, pregnant with my second baby and now aware that Pelvic Floor PT exists and that guess what… I didn't need to pee my pants the last 6 years?! So I was motivated to keep my leaking from getting worse during the pregnancy and starting diving more into Pelvic Floor Health. At the time, I knew the “What” and some of the “Why” leaking and other pelvic issues occurred and that they were not normal, but I had yet to learn the “How” to fix it. So after searching for reliable sources on social media (yes they exist but you have to do your research), I found the one and only Vaginal Whisperer, Dr. Sara Reardon. Wearing a Vulva costume and talking about taboo topics like poop and sex, she caught my attention immediately. I started doing some of the exercises she talked about on her page and started to really see a difference and ultimately healed all of my incontinence! She was and is, a trailblazer for Pelvic health and Women's Health in general as she continues to educate, empower and support women all over the world while breaking down cultural barriers. With that being said, I am so thrilled to have Dr. Sara Reardon on the show this week to dive more into her story and how she continues to elevate the standard of care for women in the US and inspire clinicians (like me) to do the same! Dr. Sara Reardon is a board-certified pelvic floor physical therapist with over 18 years of experience helping individuals prevent and overcome pelvic floor issues including, urinary leakage, painful sex, prolapse and discomfort during pregnancy, postpartum and menopause. Sara has been featured in Time, Yahoo, Harper's Bazaar, Romper, InStyle, Today, and numerous other podcasts, publications, and professional conferences about her advocacy and educational work as a pelvic floor therapist. She is also a TED presenter on Rethinking Postpartum Care. Sara is the Founder of The V-Hive, an online, on-demand pelvic floor fitness platform for pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, painful sex and pelvic floor strengthening. Sara lives in New Orleans with her husband and two sons. FLOORED: A Complete Guide to Women's Pelvic Floor Health at Every Age and Stage is her first book. To connect with Sara or order her book Floored, see links at bottom of show notes. If you want more support from me, reach out for 1:1 or group coaching, join my FREE and Private support group below and DOWNLOAD my new APP Pelvic Floor, Core & More that has my on demand 12 wk program, tracking features, pelvic floor 101 masterclass and more! RESTORE is my first 12 wk online signature program hosted inside my new platform that will be an APP soon Pelvic Floor, Core & More! Inside that program I walk you through the basics of healing, restoring your breathing, posture, core function and overall strength and return to impact and intensity. All with the guidance of me, a Pelvic Floor PT, in your pocket making sure that you are getting individualized support and feedback through the program during our weekly group coaching calls! This option is great for those that can't afford a one-on-one session for $200-$240, those that don't have access to a pelvic floor PT in person or those that want to have a structured organized program with support as they are phasing out of acute therapy treatments and working more independently.

Is the government really looking out for your best interests? Jeffrey Hann, author and anarchist thinker, returns to The Bad Roman to challenge everything you thought you knew about government, critical thinking, and personal freedom. He argues that our education system is deliberately designed to create "literacy slaves" - individuals smart enough to work but not to question authority. But is this just another conspiracy theory, or is there truth to his claims? Here's what's on the menu: Critical Thinking 101: Hann breaks down why our education system might be deliberately dumbing us down. Government's Life Cycle: From democracy to tyranny - is it inevitable? Hann walks us through Plato's five regimes and why he thinks we're headed for a fall. Psyops Exposed: Prepare to have your mind blown as Hann reveals the psychological warfare tactics governments use to keep us in line. Spoiler alert: fear and repetition are their weapons of choice. But it's not all doom and gloom. Hann presents anarchism as a potential solution, defining it as "a system or practice of no rulers, voluntary action and absence of government over the innocent, based on natural rights, life, freedom and property." Could this be the key to true personal freedom? Whether you agree with Hann's perspectives or not, this episode will challenge your beliefs and spark critical thinking. It's a must-listen for anyone interested in politics, philosophy, and the future of society. You'll hear personal anecdotes, shocking quotes, and the Christian perspective on anarchism. By the end, you'll be questioning everything - including your own beliefs. So, ready to wake up and smell the evolution? Tune in to the Bad Roman Podcast and prepare to have your worldview shaken. This isn't just an episode - it's a call to action. Are you ready to answer?

This episode my guest Breanna May discusses her love of how emotional intelligence has become the superpower in her personal and professional journey to date. A law degree didn't fulfil Breanna's inner quest and she moved into education. Working as a teenage mindset coach Breanna helped teenage girls navigate high school socially, emotionally, and academically. She noticed that the girls' emotional state and mindset had a significant impact on their academic performance. Breanna then expanded her work to include mother-daughter retreats and coaching women, as she believed that many people were not taught emotional intelligence and were instead taught to suppress their emotions. Listen in as we discuss the importance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence in personal and professional development; the need for our youth adolescents to be courageous and confident in their actions, and the importance of balancing mental and emotional well-being. Breanna shared her experiences with her Mind School certification program and her Level Up Your Life online course, which focus on emotional intelligence and personal growth. They also touched on the impact of social media and technology on modern society and the need for individuals to be more mindful and present in their daily lives. We also covered the need for updated leadership styles that prioritize integrity, emotional regulation, and collaboration, leaders walking with their people and leading by example, being adaptable and open to change, as well as the importance of considering the well-being of both the leader and their team. Breanna plans to open a business mastermind for coaches and leaders, and her podcast, which has reached 200,000 downloads. They also discussed the need for self-directed and self-motivated individuals in the current business landscape. In this soul-nourishing episode, D'Arcy welcomes back her sister Brooke Benincosa to share the sacred story of how they co-steward Nightingale Cabin—a healing sanctuary tucked into the Utah mountains—and the vision they're bringing to life through retreats, land rituals, and community gatherings. Together, they explore what it means to live in deep connection with nature, rhythm, and each other. Brooke shares how she was called to create healing spaces rooted in reverence for the land, and how her journey with nursing, healing, and intuitive wisdom shaped the work she now offers. They dive into the importance of rites of passage, conscious transitions, and returning to simplicity in a world of increasing noise and complexity. You'll hear stories of sheep-shearing, singing around fires, making bone broth, bartering with neighbors, and cultivating beauty as a way of life. Brooke introduces two powerful retreats that you can join her for: Retreat Dates & Offerings: May 30–June 1, 2025: Purification for Clarity Weekend A transformative weekend at the Nightingale Cabin, where nature meets inner peace. Our guest on this episode of the Addicted Mind podcast is Jack Bloomfield, a specialist in the ARISE model of interventions. This model is an alternative to the “traditional” form of confrontational interventions created in the 1960s by Dr. Johnson. In this confrontational model, the focus is very much on the addict, usually involving an ambush-type situation where several family members trick the addict into coming to a certain location where they are presented with some type of “go to rehab tomorrow or else…” ultimatum.Due to the heartfelt emotions in this situation, addicts are likely to agree to go to rehab, but 70% of them will leave rehab within 2 weeks because they didn't make the decision to enter on their own terms. They usually feel anger and resentment towards their family which proves to be counterproductive to the family's original desires and plan. The ARISE model of intervention is different and successful in 3 areas:It is an invitation model. The addict is invited to a “family meeting” where they likely know what will be discussed. The dialogue changes from “you have a problem” to “we, as a family, have a problem.”80% of addicts will come when they are invited.50% of those happen because they recognize that they have a problem50% will go because they don't think they have a problem and want to defend themselvesThe focus is on the family. The family indicates that they recognize that they all have things they need to work on in themselves, and they have reached out to someone who can help them all as a family. The addict does not feel singled out.The interventionist works with the family for 6 months.By committing to continuing care, the family creates a safe place for all of them to work on and discuss their issues and their progress during weekly accountability phone calls. This timeframe empowers the addict to make their own choices and not feel forced or pressured into action. They may decide that rehab, intensive outpatient treatment, or just consistent AA meetings are their best option.During and after the addict addresses their issue, the family is all on the same page and speaking the same language because they have all been on a healing journey together. The incredible statistic is that while 70% of addicts who enter rehab as a result of a confrontational intervention will leave within 2 weeks, only 2% of addicts who enter rehab as a result of an ARISE intervention will disappear within 30 days. This gives so much hope to the families waiting for a breakthrough in the life of their loved one who struggles with addiction. To Connect with Jack:www.adesignforliving.comFor more information about the ARISE intervention model, visit www.arise-network.com.
