HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Sorry, I'm running late to my friend's so no audio check-in from me today, but please enjoy this conversation I had with Natasha Muse. Natasha is a wonderful comic and I was woefully ignorant in asking these questions at the time, so please bear with me as we awkwardly navigate through a discussion about Natasha's transition from male to female, how she got her start in comedy, and becoming a parent. Natasha had so much to offer that we actually split the show into two different episodes, recorded on two different days. Look for Part 2 net week. Get that turkey! On today's show stripper, escort, and grad student Daphne talks to us about the ins-and-outs of becoming a stripper and escort, as well as why the illegality of prostitution is harming sex workers, particularly the fringe members of society. Make your own patties, and comedians are making jokes.
I'm going to try something new, by doing something old. I'm going to start releasing the old Full Disclosure episodes on Thursdays, along with a little check-in on the week. This throwback seemed particularly poignant given Monday's episode. Our first episode was a long-form interview with porn star Michael Brandon, who discusses his struggle with meth addiction and how he entered the adult industry.
I finished a book in a week, talk about the struggles of drinking and dating, and have an old lady yell at me for walking my bike.
I talk about getting fat and the negative affects of drinking, and why people are wrong when they criticize cyclists for "not following the rules of other vehicles."
When I was in high school, I had very dark thoughts. I wanted to share those on this episode, perhaps to give some insight into what could be going through someone's mind, as well as reach out to anyone who might be feeling isolated or having similar thoughts. Something I want to stress that I believe I forgot to mention in the episode: another MASSIVE deterrent to me going through with something violent was that I did not have any easy access to guns in the Bay Area—to this day I've still never shot a gun. Had they been readily available, things may have been different.
I talk about the 18th Annual BBQ Shindig and ethical non-monogamy.
There's a lightning storm, and I talk about dating apps, and putting milk in a lady's eye.
I talk about being fat, a lady with a fan, and apartment hunting.
I talk about 4th of July, my same knee injury, and getting ditched on a date.
My knee is hurt and it's really pissing me off. Plus I'm depressed.
It's been a while. Nothing has changed in 3 1/2 years, has it? I've mostly been writing and depressed. At least that's what the stars told me. Let's talk about it!
