Dry January is usually hardest after the initial motivation fades. The first week can be rough with headaches, fatigue, and withdrawal symptoms. The second week often feels better physically, but this is when the “drinking brain” starts whispering, “See? You don't have a problem. You can go back now.” ➡️➡️ This episode is your reminder not to listen to that voice. In today's episode of the No More Wasted Days Podcast, Sara shares six practical, mindset-shifting strategies to help you move beyond white-knuckling Dry January and into something far more powerful: joy, clarity, and abundance. These tools are not just for January. They are the same strategies that support long-term alcohol-free living. (Looking for the sign up link to get on the waiting list

What happens when someone trained at the very heart of modern science begins to question everything they were taught? In this episode of the Terrain Theory Podcast, we're joined by Dr. Jo Whitaker, a scientist with a PhD in genetic vaccines and advanced training in genetics, microbiology, immunology, and oncology, whose career took a radical turn when the prevailing scientific narrative stopped matching observable reality.Trained at the highest levels of academic science, Dr. Jo once worked squarely within the frameworks of germ theory, molecular biology, and genetic intervention. But during the COVID era, unresolved contradictions around immunity, vaccine design, research integrity, and public health policy forced her to look deeper. What she found wasn't simply corruption or bad incentives, but a foundational blind spot in how biology itself is understood. This conversation moves beyond surface-level critiques to explore what may be missing entirely from modern medicine: water, charge, coherence, consciousness, and the quantum nature of living systems. We discuss why so much published science is unreproducible, how academic incentives shape “truth,” and why the body may function less like a biochemical machine and more like a resonant, electromagnetic field interacting constantly with its environment.Dr. Jo shares her work with Crystal Water Experience, where she's developing practical ways for people to directly engage with coherence, grounding, and biological sovereignty – without outsourcing intuition to institutions. This episode is not about adopting new beliefs. It's about reclaiming curiosity, experimentation, and direct experience – hallmarks of real science that many feel have been lost.If you've ever sensed that health is about more than pathogens or questioned why modern biology feels increasingly disconnected from lived reality, this conversation invites you to explore what lies beneath...and beyond.Learn more about Dr. Jo Whitaker at https://www.crystalwaterexperience.com/ or follow her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Drjowhitaker007.Support Terrain Theory on Patreon! Todd Ulizio is the co-owner of Two Bear Farm, an organic vegetable farm in Whitefish, Montana, that's quietly become a cornerstone of the Flathead Valley's local food community. Alongside his wife Rebecca, Todd has spent nearly two decades growing food, building soil, and figuring out how to make a small, values-driven farm work in a world that doesn't always make it easy. Todd's path to farming was anything but direct. He grew up in Connecticut and followed a traditional educational and career path, eventually becoming an accountant at a prestigious Big 6 Firm. Experiencing success but not fulfillment, he walked away from the business world to study wildlife biology and worked on projects ranging from brown bears in Alaska to wolverines in Montana. Over time, he began to see a common thread: most of the problems facing wildlife are really problems about how humans use land—and food, he realized, is where people interact with land every single day. In this conversation, Todd and I talk about that winding path—from accounting to wildlife biology to farming—and what it's taught him about work, burnout, stewardship, and attention. We get into the realities of small-scale farming, the pressures of building a business with your spouse, the health wake-up call that forced him to rethink everything, and the quieter, more grounded philosophy that now shapes his life and work. This is a thoughtful, honest conversation about choosing a meaningful path, learning to let go of what you can't control, and finding a way to stay rooted in a rapidly changing world. Justine is a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach, certified personal trainer, and bodybuilding competitor whose health journey led her to a meat-based, animal-focused way of eating. Growing up, she faced significant health challenges, including Raynaud's syndrome, digestive issues, autoimmune-related symptoms, IBS, skin conditions, and pre-diabetes, despite having a "normal" BMI and following standard dietary advice. After years of frustration with conventional approaches, Justine began questioning nutrition guidelines and dove deep into ingredient awareness, movement, and ancestral nutrition. Her health transformation began with AIP and Paleo, followed by keto and carnivore, ultimately leading her to a meat-based lifestyle that brought relief from digestive distress, inflammation, skin issues, and chronic fatigue. Inspired by her own healing, Justine became a personal trainer in 2016 and has since continued her education in nutrition, women's health, corrective exercise, and primal health coaching. She is a Master Primal Health Coach and is currently expanding her expertise through advanced studies in advanced gut health and microbiome studies. Justine has worked primarily with women, helping them rebuild health from the inside out by meeting them where they are and creating sustainable, individualized approaches. She believes true health comes from simplicity, consistency, and reconnecting with how humans are designed to eat and live, ideally with a ribeye steak on the plate. Host Clay Edwards highlights liberal hypocrisy in the murder of a young Ukrainian refugee woman on a train in Charlotte, North Carolina, by a black man who allegedly shouted racial slurs after the attack. He mocks Democrats' internal conflict, noting their support for Ukrainians (evident in flags and bios) clashes with the victim being a "pretty white girl" in America—seen as a disadvantage in their "oppression scales"—while the killer is black, from a Democrat city, and fits narratives they defend. Edwards argues liberals weigh factors like potential queerness to decide sides but ultimately can't support a white victim over a black perpetrator unless the latter is Republican, leading to no outrage or protests compared to cases involving police. He accuses them of double standards, prioritizing identity politics over justice, and questions why legal white immigrants face violence without liberal backlash.

I'm pulling back the curtain on my 2025 business insights... nosy bitches, this one's for you! I share the ultimate the plot twist: I made almost the exact same money as 2024, while taking a 3-month sabbatical, working essentially part-time, and living like an eccentric writer.I break down my Pitch Perfect launches (including a surprising feeling I had with my first $20K month), why I'm retiring from being "The Podcast Queen," and the creative possession that birthed SUPERNOVA — my new thinking lab for people who want to build intellectual frameworks that shape culture instead of learning more tactical skills. Plus: why I'm choosing restraint as my 2026 word, and why I'm actively exploring capped business models and circular economies instead of scaling into outer space.Themes from the episode:Making the same money while living exponentially better - I generated $143K (basically what I made in 2024), but took almost 3 months off, worked Tuesdays-Thursdays, and traveled to 10+ cities, which honestly feels more successful than any revenue goal ever could. From reactive hot takes to restrained discernment - I'm retiring the knee-jerk cultural commentary and choosing thoughtfulness over Threads wars, because not everything needs my opinion and frankly, discernment is sexy as hell. Why SUPERNOVA exists and why I refuse to be the podcast queen forever - The sabbatical revealed I don't want my legacy to be "she taught people to pitch/podcast," I want it to be "she taught people to build worlds," which required creating a 4-month thinking lab for intellectual frameworks that transcend your current business reputation.Ditching cold pitching for relational EVERYTHING - I stopped teaching extractive tactics and started focusing on nurturing your actual circle, which resulted in my most collaborative Pitch Perfect cohorts and proved that relationships always win over spray-and-pray strategies.Exploring capped income and circular economies because endless growth is a scam - I engaged in 8+ swaps/trades for high-ticket programs, I'm capping SUPERNOVA at 10 people, and I'm actively researching what it means to redistribute resources instead of building a team-run empire I don't even want.My 2026 themes: CREATE. PLAY. PHILOSOPHIZE. EXPLORE. UNEARTH. ASK BIG QUESTIONS. SIMMER. PONDER. WONDER. THINK.What are yours?!Connect with Chelsea:

Episode Summary As we close out the year, this episode invites you to imagine a different version of yourself. Not a version created by doing more, pushing harder, or fixing yourself, but a version revealed when you remove the one thing that's been quietly draining your energy, confidence, and clarity. In this deeply personal episode, Sara shares: Why 2025 was one of her hardest years emotionally and mentally How anxiety resurfaced in a way that reminded her of her drinking days, and what she did instead of numbing out The story of her last New Year's Eve as a drinker, and how it set the stage for real change Why trying to “drink better” kept her stuck, and why removing alcohol closed the gap between who she was and who she wanted to be This episode introduces the idea of YOU 2.0, the version of yourself that emerges when the noise is gone. Alcohol doesn't create confidence, energy, or freedom. It blocks access to them. Key Takeaways from This Episode Reinvention does not require more habits. Sometimes the biggest upgrade comes from subtraction. Alcohol quietly erodes sleep, emotional regulation, self-trust, and momentum. The distance between your potential and your reality shrinks dramatically when alcohol is removed. You don't have to decide forever. Thirty days is enough to see what's possible. Dry January works because it gives you social permission, structure, and space to reflect. Sara also shares how her alcohol-free journey led to: Greater creativity and clarity Financial and career confidence The creation of No More Wasted Days A deeper connection to who she actually is, not who alcohol told her she was A Question to Sit With Who might you become if alcohol no longer dictated your evenings, your energy, or your emotions? What would feel possible in your life if you trusted yourself again? Join the Dry January Experience If you're curious about who YOU 2.0 might be, Dry January is a powerful and safe place to start. Lately, I've been thinking about peace and realizing how terrible I am at it.Christmas is supposed to be joyful, but I'm stressed out, overwhelmed, and turning into a version of myself I don't even like. We're obsessed with being busy and perfect, and it's messing everything up.I caught myself being completely un-peaceful more times than I want to admit and had to call my own bullshit on it. This week on Hurdle, Emily is joined by Elyse Kopecky—three-time New York Times best-selling author, educator, and co-author of the Run Fast, Eat Slow cookbook series with Olympian Shalane Flanagan—for a conversation that dives deep into the power of real food and the journey of turning personal struggle into a successful, mission-driven career. Elyse opens up about her intense personal history with a low-fat diet mentality as a young athlete, which led to severe health complications like athletic amenorrhea, low bone density, and stress fractures. She shares the pivotal moment in her 30s—while living abroad—when she realized that simply introducing healthy fats like butter and high-quality dairy allowed her body to heal and regulate naturally. We discuss the key to her philosophy: Indulgent Nourishment, which promotes celebrating whole, delicious food as the true opposite of deprivation. Elyse shares why focusing on real food, rather than counting macros or calories, is the best path to a healthier life. We also dive into the non-negotiable role healthy fats play in hormonal and brain health, how to spot misleading packaging on food labels, and the truth about high-protein fads and refined white flour. She also talks about the full-circle journey of leaving a successful corporate career at Nike to go to culinary school, and ultimately launching her own company. OFFERYou can snag a coupon code for 15% off your Superhero Muffins order by using HURDLE15 at checkout, here. QUOTABLE MOMENTS “Raising kids that are watching me do something that I’m so passionate about is the biggest gift of all in this whole career journey.” “I think so many Americans have no idea how good you can feel.” On her philosophy: "You don't need to stress about like measuring things and counting macros, all you need to do is get in your kitchen and cook." “Real food does not cause weight gain. Let’s just like stop even thinking that.” On the longevity of her message: "I think that's why our books continue to sell well is because the nutrition messaging is still upholding 10 years later." “You’ll have a horrible stomach ache if you eat when you’re super stressed.” On her pivot: "I think if I had known what I know now about the world of grocery and retail and how complex it is, I probably never would have started the company. But I think it's always been my thing like I jump into it." On the surprising benefit of her injury struggles: “Sometimes those lowest points of your life ... will teach you the biggest lessons. So your low points or your failures can become your greatest success in life.” IN THIS EPISODE Pivoting to CPG: The decision to launch the direct-to-consumer Superhero Muffins baking mix. The Low-Fat Lie: Elyse's experience suffering from athletic amenorrhea, low bone density, and stress fractures due to not eating enough healthy fats. The Power of Real Fat: Why healthy fats (like butter and olive oil) are essential for hormone balance, brain health, satiation, and absorbing fat-soluble vitamins. Dieting & Deprivation: How to shift the mindset from deprivation to "Indulgent Nourishment". Label Literacy: What red flags to look for on ingredient lists, including artificial sugars, refined flours, natural flavorings, and cheap protein fillers like refined gluten. Protein Obsession: Why high-protein diets are often overdone and the importance of balanced meals that include healthy fats and complex carbohydrates. Gut Health & Stress: How high stress and not eating during a "rest and digest" state can destroy your digestion and prevent nutrient absorption. Stress Combatting Tip: Using movement—like a short walk or quick sprint—to lower cortisol levels before sitting down for a meal. The Entrepreneurial Grind: The challenges of launching a small food brand against major competitors with large marketing budgets. Career Resilience: The journey from a successful career at Nike, to a culinary school detour, and finally finding her passion. In this episode of Openwork, we talk with our sales director, Geoff Souder, about what fundamentally changes when you move from selling traditional luxury watches to selling independent brands. Drawing on decades of experience with mainstream names like Rolex and Patek Philippe, Geoff explains how scale and standardization create a polished but often homogenous retail experience, then contrasts that with the realities of independence—where there is no built-in foot traffic and every relationship must be earned. The conversation centers on how independent watches shift the meaning of ownership inward, away from status and recognition and toward personal connection, artistic intent, and patronage, ultimately reshaping not just how watches are sold, but how they're understood and valued. Hosted by Asher Rapkin and Gabe Reilly, co-founders of Collective Horology, Openwork goes inside the watch industry. You can find us online at collectivehorology.com.
