We've had several episodes and posts lately all about NCMEC, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, looking at both the great work it does and some of the problems that plague it. Dar dacă se trece peste mesajele propagandistice, cifrele spun o altă poveste mai nuanțată și mai spectaculoasă.În perioada 1965 - 1989 (șase ediții olimpice), în care România a fost condusă de Nicolae Ceaușescu, sportivii au obținut un număr de 160 de medalii, dintre care 44 de aur.După 1989, la nouă ediții, România a obținut 113 medalii, dintre care 38 de aur.Din aceste cifre, se poate observa că după prăbușirea comunismului sportivii din țara noastră, în ciuda greutăților de tot felul, a crizei economice prelungite, a perioadei de tranziție și a lipsei investițiilor în infrastructură s-au comportat mai mult decât onorabil.Iar în Libertatea puteți citi despre PNRR întârziat. Guvernul Ciolacu se bâlbâie în explicații privind implementarea planului. Fonduri de miliarde de euro sunt sub semnul întrebării titrează ziarul.Ministerul Investițiilor și Proiectelor Europene evită să explice în mod clar situația implementării jaloanelor și țintelor din Planul Național de Redresare și Reziliență, în condițiile în care calendarul asumat în fața oficialilor de la Bruxelles este deja întârziat, cu legi-cheie tergiversate în an electoral.PNRR ar trebui să fie gata, cu toate jaloanele, țintele și indicatorii la cheie, la 30 iunie 2026.România nu a reușit să dea explicațiile suficiente pentru ca țara noastră să primească banii din cererea a treia de plată, cu jaloane și ținte care aveau termen-limită 30 septembrie 2022, respectiv 31 decembrie 2022, dar solicitarea a fost înaintată doar la jumătatea lui decembrie 2023.În total, România trebuie să primească prin PNRR, dacă va duce la bun sfârșit toate obiectivele, 28,5 miliarde de euro, o parte din bani fiind sub formă de împrumuturi. MIPE vine cu răspunsuri vagi atât în ceea ce privește banii pe care ar trebui să-i încaseze pentru cererea numărul 3, dar și pentru cererea de plată numărul 4Tot mediul bugetar așteaptă să vadă cel puțin o schiță a noii legi a salarizării unitare, prin care va fi modificat sistemul de acordare a lefurilor în administrația publică. Termenul asumat în PNRR este de 30 iunie 2023, însă Guvernul nu are niciun gând să prezinte vreun proiect public până în alegerile din decembrie, potrivit informațiilor Libertatea. Responsabilitatea va fi pasată următorului Guvern, care ar trebui să vină cu acest proiect.

The Supreme Court has never heard a Section 230 case—until now. Earlier this month, the justices agreed to review Gonzalez v. Google, in which the plaintiffs argue that YouTube's “targeted recommendation” of videos falls outside Section 230 immunity. How did we get Section 230? Why is it important? What would the Internet look like without it? Emma Llansó, director of the Free Expression Project at the Center for Democracy & Technology, joins the show to explain how Section 230 came to be, how it has been implemented over the last quarter century, why Congress's one amendment of it (via FOSTA) was a disaster, and why the upcoming Supreme Court case is so crucial.

Michael focuses on media, entertainment, IP, and First Amendment litigation. In this episode, we will complete our three-part discussion about Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which provides immunity (with some exceptions) to tech companies from liability for third-party content, such as reader posts, YouTube videos, and Instagram posts. As a reminder, in the first podcast on this topic, Michael discussed the history that led to the adoption of Section 230 and analyzed the key features of the law. In part two, he discussed an exception to the immunity provided by Section 230 – that is, the so-called Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act, or FOSTA , which allows claims against online services that allegedly facilitate sex trafficking. Today, Michael will discuss some of the controversy around Section 230 that has prompted calls to reform the law.
