We talk about Black Widow and the things you missed if you never read the comics. Learn about Yelena, Taskmaster, Red Guardian, Melina, Red Room, and more! Talk with us on Twitter. Links from the discussion… Yelana is not Natasha's sister in the comics, and sorta joined the Avengers, and she's dead now. The Black Widow Ops Program was based at the Red Room during the Cold War and was created because of their success with the Winter Soldier. Natasha was trained by the Red Room and once a member of the KGB before defecting to the US to join Shield. There was a Red Guardian before Alexi from the movie who was named Aleksey Lebedev. Alexi Shostakov was the second Red Guardian and was married to Natasha for a while. In the comics, he did not have the super soldier serum. Taskmaster is a completely different character in the movie than the comics. Nastasha's fixer in the movie, Rick Mason, is from the comics but isn't closely associated with Natasha. Valentina Allegra de Fontaine has a convoluted history but was once a leading member of Shield. Melina lived in the shadow of Black Widow while working as an agent of the Russian government named Iron Maiden. She later tried to kill Black Widow. The cold open of Black Widow is very similar in feel to The Americans television series. Kevin Feige talks about the changes Marvel Studios is making to eliminate the Samuel L. Jackson-style, nine-picture contracts they've locked actors into in the past.

Guest: Nastasha McKeon Age: 34 Location: San Diego, CA Wow Factor: Perseverance. My early life set the stage really well for this characteristic! It’s really served me well in all areas of my life. A business coach of mine once explained it like this. “Nastasha you amaze me. Most are walking on their path & they run into a wall. It looks impossible to get over and so they pack it in and go home. You see a wall and you attempt to climb it, when that doesn’t work, you try to go around it, when that fails, you blow right through it.” I’ve had a lot of opportunities to call it quits in business especially and instead of calling it when the odds seem stacked against me, I just keep going. I keep pushing through and I get the beauty of seeing what’s on the other side of that wall. What the world needs more of: Faith (in our own ability to create what we want through the power of the laws of attraction). Passion (for all that we do). Love & kindness. (Towards each other, the planet and ourselves). Bio: Nastasha is a certified nutritionist and plant-based diet educator holding a certification in plant-based nutrition and holistic nutrition. She is the founder and CEO of Choice Superfood Bar & Juicery. Nastasha’s lifelong passion has been studying the connection of food and how it relates to health. She is a firm believer that—as Hippocrates said—food is medicine and it is her mission in life to teach people how that applies in their lives by educating them and giving them the tools needed to make healthier choices. In her clinical and personal experience, she has seen first hand the impact of diet on disease. She has witnessed the healing powers of food to lower cholesterol, high blood pressure, reverse type II diabetes and obesity, as well as relief from depression and many other diseases. Nastasha is a believer in the mind-body connection and encourages a balanced and healthy lifestyle to promote overall health and wellness. “Be mindful of what you put in your body, in your mind and with whom you surround yourself.” “Eat food with purpose on purpose, limit stress, meditate, exercise and most importantly always keep a positive mental attitude.” These are a few of her core values and principles for achieving ultimate wellbeing Favorite Color: Ocean Blue

My heartbeat intensifies as I listen to Nastasha share her memories of sobbing herself to sleep out of financial fear and the unknown of how she would provide for her children. My body becomes covered in goosebumps as she tells story after story of impossible odds turning into perfect successes. And I can't help but send out a major fist pump when she describes the moment she declared to the universe that she refused to not live her dream. I feel these things so viscerally because I have lived them all in pursuit of my purpose in this world. Nastasha's story is as raw as it is inspiring and we are so excited to share her with the YT community in this episode. Today Nastasha sits atop the successful multi-location organic juicery and vegan meal cafes known to us lucky San Diegans as Choice. In a short period of time, Nastasha went from cashing in her savings to cover payroll to just signing on her fourth location. Her dream is to become the Starbucks of her industry and provide more goodness, more pureness and more love-filled nutrition across the globe. It wasn't long after landing in Carlsbad did BJ and I hear about Nastasha. People who barely knew us would say how much we would connect with her and that we did, just a few weeks ago in our home. This is the kind of conversation that makes you want to get up and do something big. It's a conversation that has reminded BJ and I to keep going and not to give up on what we believe in so deeply. The YogiTriathlete community is a powerful force that cannot be stopped and we are so very grateful for every Patreon supporter, every listener, every athlete on our team, every M21 member, every yoga student, every plant-based nutrition client and every single person that takes the time to leave a review for the show, for the cookbook or to share their positive experience in life because YT exists. We are in deep thanks to you all and to our amazing guests like Nastasha who keep the motivation high and the land of the unknown a little more approachable. We hope you enjoy the show. Rock on my friends!

This week’s episode features our interview with Wayne Bailey, owner and winegrower at Youngberg Hill.   “Youngberg Hill creates authentic wines and experiences in our tasting room and Inn that will have you fall in love with life again." Oregon’s premier wine country estate and one of Wine Spectator’s favorite locations; set on a 50-acre hilltop surrounded by exquisite vineyards and views. We have an amazing 28-year old vineyard that is farmed organically. We are well known for producing award winning wines. As passionate farmers and winemakers we are thrilled to share, educate, and talk wine. We care for our wine and guests with respect. We are proud of our ‘Green’ approach to wine country living and look forward to sharing it with you.”   Wine featured in this episode: these wines were sent to us for free by Youngberg Hill. Youngberg Hill Chardonnay 2015 Light nose of toast, toasted marshmallow and flowers It’s dry with medium bodied, medium acidity with flavors of grapefruit pith, cheese, vanilla and a little smoke The oak is there but not heavy handed Priced around $40   Youngberg Hill Nastasha Pinot Noir 2014 Beautiful ruby color Aromas of black cherry and dusty earth It’s dry with light tannins and medium plus, almost high acidity with flavors of black cherry, black plum, earth/dry dirt, dried herbs with a long finish To me, this is a real fruit forward, juicy black fruit wine, although a light bodied wine - it’s more ripe Pinot Noir - like Wayne said 2014 was a warmer year in Willamette Priced around $50   Youngberg Hill Jordan Pinot Noir 2014 This block of vineyards is pretty much right next to the Nastasha block. Aromas of candied black cherry, sweet baking spice like cloves and star anise and dried earth It’s dry, light bodied with light tannins, medium plus acidity and flavors of black plum, black cherry, earth/ forest floor, and mushroom on the finish Similar to the Nastasha but more earthy flavors vs. fruit Priced around $50   You can learn more about these wines and purchase them here   We’re coming up to our 100th episode and to celebrate, we want to make you part of the show!
