Cmdr Wotherspoon takes us through his digestion of this weeks Galnet news.

Aisling Duval has won control of the famed Hutton Mug, following a stunning victory in Alpha Centauri, allegedly because of her skill as a scrap merchant. In other news, there's a tiny bit more information about Radicoida, and nothing at all about Jaques's promised Colonia celebration.

Commanders have saved Operations, which can now be launched on 30 June as planned.

CMDR Profane Pagan has looked at the images we have of the new Nomad ship-launched exploration shuttle, and wonders if it might be boardable through an opening side door. This is speculation based on limited evidence, but with the Lynx Highliner allowing crew to board by climbing a ramp before transitioning to the cockpit, could the same be true of the Nomad? Thanks to CMDR Profane Pagan for sharing details of their investigation.

If Operations doesn't release on time, it will be our fault, according to Imogen le Ray, CEO of Frontline Solutions. Frontline needs our help to build the fleet of Operation Runner base ships that will make Operations possible. We have two weeks to make it happen, and there are paintjob rewards for us as well: a Type-8 Convoy Chromatic Cherry and a Panther Clipper Mk II ZPG Parcel Red.

A brand-new ship-launched vessel is being released on 30 June. The Nomad is built to explore planetary surfaces, even where the terrain is too rough to land a ship.

Frontline Solutions has said that it will provide a platform to "combat the rise in criminal activity", with a formal announcement expected in the next few days.

An unknown ship manufacturer has published this image (or "an image" if you're listening to the podcast) on social media, with the caption: "The surface is calling. Discover the Galaxy's next new vessel. Full Concept Reveal - 2 June 2026". Is it a ship, or something else?

Radicoida plants were used to prepare alien warriors for battle, according to a leading specialist in xeno-technology. Engineer Ram Tah has revealed that Radicoida seed pods may have been used by the ancient Guardians.

The Pilots' Federation has announced a final, exact date for the launch of the new Operations mission system, and they've described in step-by-step detail how one of the missions will work. Plus, there's some good news for Commanders who long for the days when the galaxy was so much more colourful than it is now.

Starports in the Lhou Mans system are working again, but there's no word yet about what might be happening in Colonia. And a Trailblazers colony has been established (just) more than 10,000 LY from Sol.

The Galactic community is anticipating a new Community Goal in Colonia, after bartender Jaques dropped hints that he would be celebrating the tenth anniversary of the most famous misjump in Galactic history.Closing image by Dr Nagi, Distant Worlds 3 organiser.

With almost all the tourists rescued and the pirates driven off, it's time to repair the damaged starports in Lhou Mans. And there are, of course, rewards on offer. Everyone that registers at Ryman Enterprise and takes part, as long as they contribute at least one tonne, will be awarded a Panther Clipper Zorgon Peterson Red paintjob and one each of the Class 5 and Class 6 pre-engineered cargo racks, which can carry 35% more cargo than a normal cargo rack of the same size. The Class 5 rack can therefore carry 43 tonnes of goods, while the Class 6 can carry 86 tonnes. That's a total of 33 extra tonnes every trip.

It's been a big week for news in the more distant parts of the Galaxy. The Distant Worlds 3 expedition is coming to the end of its 15-stop tour of the Galaxy, and colonisation crews working for Project Galtea have started preparing for their next push, which will create colonies more than 10,000 LY from Sol.

The mastermind behind the pirate attacks in Lhou Mans has been named. According to Mira Bukowski of Vox Galactica, sources in the crime underworld have named the owner of the crossed axe symbol as "Lady Zi", a pirate admiral commanding a coalition fleet of many pirate factions all under a single command.

The Dodec Starport has finally been made generally available, with a half-price offer to cut out the hauling.

Pirates have returned to the Lhou Mans system, to the delight of Commanders, after taking a brief holiday.

The October Consortium is apparently delighted with their pile of nearly three million Guardian Artefacts. Meanwhile, the evacuation of Lhou Mans is going well, and the Distant Worlds 3 expedition has been scanning their own beacon.

Burning Stations are back, after a coordinated pirate attack in the Lhou Mans system. You can get your hands on a brand new Lynx Highliner to help out with the evacuation, for the low, low price of zero ARX and zero Credits.

The Distant Worlds 3 Expedition is heading to a cluster of Guardian sites close to the centre of the Galaxy. However, there is no word on whether this timely visit to the remains of a civilisation that has recently sparked new interest is anything more than a coincidence. Plus, there's a beacon to scan, and the new ship, the Lynx Highliner, will be available to buy for Credits, from tomorrow, 28th April.

There have been further reports of pirate raids across core systems this week, prompting concerns over a growing pirate threat. There are just three more waypoints on the Distant Worlds 3 expedition, which will end in three weeks. And the Guardian Artefact initiative enters its final few days, with some Commanders unable to unload their Fleet Carriers.

The new Lynx Highliner looks much better than we expected. And it introduces a major innovation: this is the first ship that you board by walking up a ramp. The Zorgon Peterson Lynx Highliner base model will be available at all good shipyards from Tuesday 28th April. The Stellar and Galactic Editions, which come preconfigured and bundled with cosmetic options, will be available on the same day, for an allegedly modest number of ARX.

The Pilots' Federation has given more details about Operations, but has delayed its release by a further two months, to June. Meanwhile, Zorgon Peterson has announced that its new ship will be released next week and will be immediately available to buy for Credits.

Guardian technology is beginning to pile up at Exogene Sciences, but we still have no idea what the October Consortium wants them for. Meanwhile, conspiracy theorist Kit Fowler has claimed that we should be getting worried about the current wellness trend.

The October Consortium has developed a sudden interest in Guardian civilisation, and they're willing to pay for samples of Guardian technology. The CG is at Exogene Sciences in HIP 87621, and you need to gather various Guardian artefacts to take part.

New findings suggest that Radicoida Unica may may have been genetically manipulated millions of years ago by intelligent alien life. That might mean Thargoids, Guardians or some other species, but it raises uncomfortable questions about the Radicoida-based pharmacological products being developed by the October Consortium.

There's confusion tonight over the theft of components from a fabrication plant in the LHS 1167 system, with sources claiming the heist was exceptionally well organised. And there are questions over whether there might be implications for the forthcoming Operations mixed mode combat system.

Nearly 6,000 Commanders have been given the wrong reward for the Unica Seed initiative: they were promised a Maverick suit, but were instead given a Dominator. The organiser expects to fix the problem shortly.

October Consortium's two-week initiative to gather Radicoida Unica seed pods has ended early, after unexpectedly enthusiastic participation from more than 7,500 Commanders fulfilled the quota in only four days, allowing accelerated development of what a scientist at the Holloway Bioscience Institute described as "Radicoida-based enhancers".

The October Consortium want your help with an egg hunt, and they're offering a pre-engineered maverick suit as an incentive.

The Distant Worlds 3 exploration initiative at the new Rainbow's End starport has concluded, and the expedition is heading to Waypoint 9, and in some comfort.

The Caspian Explorer has entered full production, and is available to buy for Credits. Zorgon Peterson's neutron-jump optimised long range exploration vessel is by far the fastest ship along the Neutron Highway. Plus, there's an exploration CG going on, far, far away.

A brand new deep space starport has been commissioned, using materials gathered by the Distant Worlds III Deep-Space Infrastructure Project initiative back in January. It's in the Roefoo ZE-H d10-0 system, 48,000 LY from Sol.

There's growing concern over reports that the Alliance is becoming overrun by a sense of unexplained and curiously homogeneous physical and mental wellbeing among many of its citizens.

The 16-day-long active service test of the Kestrel Mk II fighter in Duamta has concluded, with Core Dynamics predicting that the Federal Navy will use the new ship to replace its existing fleet of Eagles.

10 Mar 3312: With three and a half trillion credits in bounties issued as rewards for killing pirates, there's confusion about why the number of pirates in systems near Duamta doesn't seem to be decreasing at all. But there's still time to bankrupt the operation's sponsor, Core Dynamics.

Vox Galactica has published an interview with the CEO of the October Consortium. But her future plans for Radicoida Unica remain hazy at best.

Agents working for the seven Powers remaining in the HIP 87621 enclave have been awarded a pair of Imperial Hammer railguns as an initial reward for success. But it remains unclear what the longer-term benefits might be. Meanwhile, the Core Dynamics combat mission initiative is progressing well.

The Kestrel Mk II is available in early access, and Core Dynamics is sponsoring a combat event to celebrate, right in the heart of the Federation.

The Radicoida War may be over, with the seven remaining Powers to share whatever benefits working with the October Consortium will bring.Today's video is brought to you by the Kestrel Mk II, the small ship with the big impact. Core Dynamics introduces its very first supercruise-overcharge enabled ship, designed for combat with its unique Plasma Shock Accelerator and Agile Boost Thrusters. Boasting three large and two small hardpoints on a super-manoeuvrable frame, the Core Dynamics Kestrel Mk II, available for ARX from Tuesday 24th February. The Kestrel Mk II: Style that Strikes.

The truce in the Radicoida enclave is over, but you probably wouldn't notice the difference. And the Distant Worlds 3 expedition is planning an SRV time trial that ends by diving into a crater.

There's bad news and good news for Commanders this week. The bad news is that Frontline Solutions has announced a further delay to its team-based Operations feature. The good news is that there will be six new vessels released this year, with the first, the Core Dynamics Kestrel Mk II, available on Tuesday next week.

A new spaceship will be announced tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Distant Worlds 3 expedition has gone as far as it can, and has turned itself around.

There's a warning of increased pirate activity in Federal and Imperial systems, suggesting that bounty-hunting initiatives are soon likely to follow. Also, there's a suggestion that the Radicoida trees can distort reality, and buying ARX just got easier.

There is concern that a Vox Galactica report may have been influenced by agitators keen to see an end to the ceasefire. And some members of the Distant Worlds 3 expedition have expressed disquiet about the unexpectedly long distance to the next waypoint.

Improved physical and mental performance for all humankind. That's what chemicals extracted from the blue trees of HIP 87621 might be able to offer, according to the first published analysis.

Shocking scenes have emerged of shoddy building work by Brewer Corporation on a recently completed asteroid base. Hamm City, in COL 285 Sector CY-N B21-8, is a lengthy supercruise from the jump-in point, but that's no excuse for poor workmanship, according to System Architect CMDR _Bagpiper_. Plus, we catch up with Distant Worlds 3 as it leaves the World of Death.

There's an awful lot of speculation about how comedy actor "Big Bill" Ventura got ripped. And for some reason, Galnet feels the need to cover this peculiar transformation.

In this week's news, the best mining ship in the Galaxy enters general availability. The ceasefire holds in the Radicoida enclave. And Distant Worlds prepares for the World of Death.

The Distant Worlds 3 expedition has set off with a flourish, travelling nearly 30 LY on the first day.

The Distant Worlds 3 expedition sets off tomorrow, 18 Jan 3312. And, with the successful conclusion of the initiative to provide building materials, we get told when, but not where, the new station will be built.
