The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence! A beautiful quote from our gangsta buddy Gin Rummy of the Boondocks. What does this quote mean? Well, for today's podcast, it takes on the meaning of whatever we perceive to be the reality, may not be the reality we perceive. In other words, we don't necessarily see reality for what it really is. Rather, we bend it's nearly infinite possibilities to our own experiences. Granted, I'm not the smartest guy in the room, but we take a jab at this concept. Enjoy. Support this podcast
"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." A fitting quote for today's society. People go viral for with the best of intentions and as the fame lingers, so does the chance for these individuals to become "exposed". Once exposed, slowly we see these individuals become villainous by happenstance. Let's be honest with ourselves, we are the "good" guy in the story of our lives. Rarely do we ever sit back and wonder, whether or not we are the villain's in someone else's story. It is that inability to be totally honest with ourselves that has led us towards becoming more distant, more harsh, more cold towards one another. Once we rip the Band-Aid off our self-righteousness, we will begin to see the others perspective. Support this podcast
Influencers, content creators, Instagrammers, and TikTok'ers are all going to extremes lengths to produce and distribute content. Often times, it's at the detriment of other people. Or worst yet, at the exploitation of serious and life altering situations. I'm not a fan of any of that. While I understand the need to monetize on content, I feel that abusing that and putting people lives at risk is the slippery slope of moral degradation of society. We have enough knuckleheads on social media. Let's start advocating some positivity. Support this podcast
So, we gonna go through this again, huh? Have we learned nothing from the toilet paper fiasco? No? Alright then. Carry on I suppose, cuz y'all are looking ridiculous trying to carry gasoline in a plastic bag. Just so you know, gasoline doesn't run out. We have copious (a lot) amounts coming from overseas. Not to mention our own oil reserves we have yet to touch in Alaska, Texas, and various other places in the U.S. But, please, continue to fill every container you own with gasoline. That's the most ingenious way to transport such a flammable and combustible chemical. Oy Vey! Support this podcast
It's really interesting to watch the media create and perpetuate beef with one another. You have Fox News calling out news anchors from MSNBC, you have YouTube political commentators calling out each other left and right, yet, we sit here and gobble it all up. People fall for the political drama and even go as far as to defend these TV personalities. Often it's drilled into our heads that the media is manipulating you, controlling your thoughts and feelings. It's all true. Media is controlling you and you're letting them get away with it. I think it's time that we take control of our own thoughts and start to think rationally. Support this podcast
There's a pattern on YouTube about relationship advice and how we talk about relationships. I still stress that we are mere juveniles when it comes to the dating world, and I'm proven right constantly when I scroll through YouTube. In any case, there seems to be this disgruntled argument that men ain't sh*t and woman ain't sh*t. If we drop the B.S we will see that neither of us are worth the salt we sweat and to find someone you are compatible with and settle down. Until we learn to mature our views on relationships, we will always have this toxic view of what a relationship should be. Support this podcast
With the guilty verdict of Derek Chauvin, I've noticed that some people celebrated, and some people thought it was the wrong decision. Regardless of where you land on the spectrum, I've noticed a very disturbing pattern if you will. I've noticed that we as human beings, have some how lost our humanity. With all of the police killings, bombings, mass shootings, we've come to defend the actions of murderers, than stand up for the victims. We've used the horrible actions of others in a political manner to gain clout, rather than to make the necessary changes in the world. And this is truly a sad thing. Support this podcast
In another episode of, "we ain't mature in relationships", we will talk about Instagram Models and Only Fans. Can we really date these type of individuals who partake in these social media platforms? Are they worthy of marriage? Let's discuss. As always, your feedback is always welcomed. Hit me up on Facebook: Guys Of The Round Table, Instagram: @gotrpodcast, email: guysoftheroundtable@gmail.com. The world is full of negativity. I think it is time that we start to infuse as much positive vibes as we can. I'm rooting for everyone who is out there chasing their dreams and making good things happen. With all this political, conspiratorial, battle of ideologies going around, we need to start thinking about our fellow man and help them get to where they need to get to. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, who knows. But I can dream. And I dream of a world where everyone gets along. Support this podcast
Recently there's been a string of examples of what toxic relationships look like. We had the Derrick Jaxn cheating scandal. We had the Quavo and Saweetie elevator incident. There was Married At First Sight examples, where couples exhibited an ample amount of selfishness in their relationships. Then there's Flightreact, who was livestreaming when his (ex)girlfriend showed up to his house unannounced and created drama for the his live streamers to see. Once the cameras were off, so did the gloves. See good people, these are not good examples of what a healthy relationship should look like. These examples are clear cut examples of what toxic relationships are. We definitely need to shift our viewpoint of what a relationship is and how we should act within them. In any case, I hope you guys enjoy this episode, and most importantly, enjoy your weekend! Much love! Support this podcast
In light of the whole Derrick Jaxn drama, hopefully people are becoming more aware about how corny relationship guru's are. They don't give good advice and they only pander to what you want to hear. That's not giving advice at all. If you want some truth and some real advice, listen to Kevin Samuels. That brotha is handing out the solid advice left, right and center. Originally, I lumped this man with others who pander and give bad advice, but after listening to a couple of his shows, I realize that he's actually trying to help. His brand of truth telling isn't for everyone, but it's needed. Anyways, morale of the story, if you want a good relationship, fix yourself and grow up. Realize that relationships are a partnership, not a title. Love y'all. Enjoy! Support this podcast
I've always kept it honest with you guys when it comes to relationships, cancel culture, and society in general. Today, I'm going to continue that trend, cuz it's what good folk do! I'm going to let you know up front, a lot of you, have been getting horrible relationship advice. Especially men. Because of all the horrible advice you've been getting, a lot of you have a toddlers understanding of how relationships function. Everyone is very possessive when it comes to being in an intimate relationship, instead of treating the other person as an individual. As a result, a lot of you guys don't know how to handle break-ups, turmoil, and everything in between. Therefore, you become possessive, controlling, and vindictive, once the relationship sours. Don't worry, you can change. In today's episode, we talk about all of this. Enjoy! Support this podcast
Man, it seems like conservatives are always on their high horse. They seem to have crown themselves the moral authority of American society. But there is some serious hypocrisy that plague them. Always wanting to tell people how to live, how to act, and how to behave, yet do none of what they say. Don't get me wrong liberals and democrats have their faults as well, but we ain't talking about them. Today is the blatant hypocrisy of conservatives. Enjoy. Support this podcast
I know. I know. Another episode about cancel culture? Yes! Because this is my podcast and I do as I please. Besides, cancel culture has struck again, and this time it has come for one of our favorite childhood authors, Dr. Seuss... or has it? everyone is up in arms that Dr. Seuss is stopping the printing and distribution of six of it's books for racist and stereotypical imagery. This was a move made and executed by Dr. Seuss's estate. Meaning, it was his heirs that decided to not further distribute these books. And now everyone is throwing a hissy fit over it. That's fine. Do your throw your fit, but you know what? Act like a grown up. Let's discuss this. Support this podcast
I've always been a proponent of critical thinking. And I've come to find that it's more than just asking questions. It's the reasoning behind those questions that helps us to understand not only ourselves, but other subject matters. Thinking critically gives us the ability to decipher whether someone is feeding us a bunch of bull-jive, or is actually telling us the truth. It also, helps us understand our world better. Regardless, the ability to think critically is important for our personal growth. Doesn't hurt that it also helps us become a little bit smarter as well. Support this podcast
Last week we talked about reconciling with your past and how it's important to your overall growth. Today's episode, we talk about the road to redemption. It's not always pretty, but it's a very necessary step in evolving as a person. Everyone's path is different, but the jubilation that we feel at the end is indescribable. Embrace your journey. Embrace your story, and revel in your successes. Support this podcast
Lately, I've been thinking about my past. I've thought about how every decision has lead me to where I am today. I've thought about all the mistakes I've made, the people I have wronged, and the indecisions I haven't made. All of those actions, decisions, and indecisions have lead me to be the person that I am now. Yet, I can't help but wonder, why am I fixated on what was, could've been, or what might have been? Digging deeper, I've concluded, I haven't made peace with my former self. All of those actions and decisions have lingered, because I've made a valiant effort to avoid them. This has held me back from truly becoming who I want to become, and from fully enjoying the life that I have created for myself. So, in this episode, I talk about how it is important that we reconcile with our past in order to move forward. Support this podcast
I assume we've all heard the sayings, "Money can't buy happiness', "Money can't solve all your problems", "Money don't grow on trees", well apparently they do! And in fact, I think money does solve all our problems, it does buy happiness, and having it is so much better than not having it. Sure, we can make arguments that true happiness lies in the relationships and bonds we form in our lifetime, but let's be real, if we had a surplus of money, we'd be much happier! I'm tired of pretending that not having money isn't a problem. Look we just witnessed billionaire Hedge Fund tank a stock! We've watched in disgust, as congress "debate" giving us a stimulus check. We've watched companies, gain billions in the midst of a pandemic, while regular hard working folks get laid off their jobs. I'm over the lies. Money does in fact cure all. It's time we accept it. Support this podcast
Ever wonder why so many people give crappy advice about relationships? I definitely have and I've come to the conclusion, is that most of the people giving advice are jaded. At some point in their lives, they've been scorned by a significant other and they harbor that resentment when giving advice to others. I'm not a huge fan of that. So, in this episode, I give actual practical advice on how to make your relationship better. Enjoy! Support this podcast
Growing up, most of us loved going to our cousin's house. That's where a lot of your childhood memories are made. We laughed, we cried, got into fights, laughed, played, picked on each other, a simpler time. As we grow up though, we find ourselves growing distant. We stop going over as much, we stop calling as much, we've pretty much been reduced to just following each other on social media to be honest. Why is that? How come when we grow older, we grow more distant? I don't have the answers, but I'm willing to discuss. Support this podcast
I this episode, I talk about the idea that the first amendment is under siege. I have come across a lot of conservatives (a good majority of which are my friends) talking about how the 1st amendment is under attack by big tech. I found this idea to be wrong and a gross exaggeration of simple censorship. I'm not for censorship, but to say that our 1st amendment rights are under attack is ridiculous. Another common talking point I've been hearing a lot among conservatives, is that they are being censored as well by big tech. Once again, I have to disagree. I'll admit that big tech does step out of line. Actually they're habitual line steppers, but they aren't censoring conservative thought. It's getting ridiculous to be honest. It seems that the group of people who like to call anyone who has a differing opinion a snowflake, are actually snowflakes. Support this podcast

Last episode I talked about people being outraged about the wrong things. This episode we build on the last episode and try to point the finger where it actually belongs. See, 2020 is supposed to be hindsight, where we learn from our past mistakes. I don't think we are doing that. In fact, we keep doing the same things over and over. I know there's a word or phrase for that....oh that's right, insanity! We keep electing dumb dumb officials into office wit the hopes that they will actually help us! But rather, the same thing happens every time, they help their corporate buddies and line their pockets with their money. Sigh! I don't know folks. Maybe we need to try something different? Most of us wants to have a better life. Most of us, for the most part, want to be better human beings. How we go about achieving that goal is almost always up to the individual. However you get there, just remember, the main reason in doing so is for personal growth. It's important that we grow as human beings, otherwise, we become stagnant in life. The old way of doing things isn't always the best or more efficient ways. In this episode, I talk about some reasons as to why it's important we continue to try and evolve. I talk about how I've grown myself. Hopefully, this can inspire someone out there to become the best version of themselves. Enjoy! It is day one thousand, eleven hundred sumthing, from last Tuesday's election. The votes haven't been fully tallied, but it is clear that Joe Biden is President elect. The wise-guys (in this case, smart people)have called the election in favor of Joe Biden. Yet, I've seen a disturbingly large amount of Trump supporters claiming victory in this election. If not, they are claiming that the election is "rigged". It's getting to the point that, I don't know how to go about talking to these people. Trump derangement is a real thing and I'm honestly, quite concerned for a large portion of my friends. False narrative about the election results continue to be copied and pasted all over social media. At this point, it is a direct threat to our democracy. It's 2020 and a lot has happened this year. A pandemic (plandemic to some), a Presidential election, millions of unemployed Americans, A President who is claiming a lot of false narratives, and a fan base who seems ready to accept any crazy notion he throws out here. This year has been one hell of a ride so far! But if we really look at 2020, we start to get a clearer picture, that we are supposed to be awakening and moving on from a lot of previously held notions (20/20 vision). Alrighty folks! The time has come and it's officially election day here in the U.S! It doesn't matter who you go and vote for. It is our civic duty to go out and exercise our right to vote. No matter who wins this election, nothing will change. Wednesday November 4th, will be just another day in the history books. There will be no "civil war" most political pundits love talking about. Will there be some dumb-dumb's out there doing idiotic things? Probably. but that unrest will sort itself out. Election day will come and go, and we will either have a new standing President or the current one will be reelected. Either way, we will have four years of some old dude in charge. As you might've heard (or not) Kanye West made an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. I was totally ecstatic, cuz I'm a huge Kanye fan. Upon listening to the episode, it became very clear to me that something isn't right with Kanye. I've always took his ramblings as just someone who couldn't get his thoughts straight. After hearing the brotha speak? Nah, there's something definitely off about Mr. West. As I finished the episode, I started to ponder a bit about he's running for President, does it make sense for him to, and is he really a genius? We often loosely throw that word around, more often than not, as sarcasm. Made me think a bit, so I recorded that thought and now sharing it with you all. It's nothing bad. I'll be honest, I find it quite unfortunate, that we have a political system that was created "for the people, by the people", yet sit back and watch the very people they represent suffer. The rich get richer, while the poor gets screwed. Yet, we are told, if we vote for these individuals, they will "fix" the problem within our country. We vote. They get elected. Nothing changes. Cycle repeats itself. Instead of finding viable solutions to the toxic relationship, we instead turn on each other. While turning on each other, we create echo chambers of think tanks whose sole purpose is to make money. We fight. They profit. All the while selling on the notion, that if we truly want change, we have to align with their ways of thinking, buy their books, buy their merchandise, because they only have the "solutions" to fix what's wrong with our society. You buy, their books, their merchandise and realize, there is no cure. Just a collection of word vomit and false ideologies. We get mad. They continue to profit. Cycle continues. The Snake Oil Salesman prevails again. Join Robinhood with my link and we'll both get a gift stock for the holidays! https://join.robinhood.com/vladimj60 Support this podcast
I've noticed that within our society, we've began to place more and more importance on status, power, money, and other material things rather than family, friends, and kinship. I believe this has led us down a misfortune path as a society, as we do not care for our fellow neighbors like we used to. It's all about "me and mines" and chasing that paper. Which in turn, leads us to chasing things that don't really hold any true value or importance. We worship negative ideals and various other false "Gods" instead of good virtuous ideals. I'm sure you've heard several people on Facebook and Twitter talking about how they are going to boycott the NFL or how they want to cancel Netflix. Though I fully support your right to boycott such things, I find your cause to be flawed. It's a weird internal struggle to be honest. On one hand, boycotts have lead to a lot of positive changes throughout history. Yet, in this moment in history, boycotts have denigrated into mere tweets voicing displeasure about some obscure cause you are fighting for. Pretty much, boycotting has become the adult way of throwing a temper tantrum, because athletes and corporations aren't doing what you want them to do. It's become a silly game of who can be outraged by the dumbest things. Anywho, I share my thoughts on the matter in this weeks episode. Enjoy. I was listening to The Roommates YouTube channel where the host, Hafeez Baku, was talking about never dating a woman that doesn't want to date you. In this episode, he goes on to give a lot of great points about why you shouldn't date a woman that doesn't want to be with you. For the most part, I agreed with Hafeez, as dating someone who doesn't want you, will only lead to major problems within the relationship. Where I disagreed with Hafeez, is when he stated, "I want the woman I am going to be with, to treat me like her #1 draft pick". That statement isn't bad or wrong or anything, it's just it doesn't make a lot of sense in this scenario. There have been a lot of #1 draft picks that haven't panned out in the NFL, because they didn't fit the scheme. So in this episode, I go on to explain my reasoning as to why that statement doesn't work in my opinion. Whenever there is a hot social issue that takes place, our athletes are at the forefront fighting that battle. Unfortunately, they almost always told, "shut up and dribble". Here's the thing, if our athletes aren't allowed to give voice to the voiceless, then who will? Because, let's be honest, the average black man, will almost always be silenced before he has a chance to say anything. The tragedy of Jacob Blake being shot 7x's in the back in Kenosha Wisconsin, shows very clearly, that there is a huge bias in how police officers handle black men vs. white men when they commit crimes (allegedly). I for one, am glad that Lebron James and various other athletes are using their platforms to give voice to those that truly and desperately needs it. I wish race problems weren't a thing, but the string of unfortunate shootings, leads me to believe otherwise. Athletes, please continue to use your platform to continue the fight for equality. A couple of weeks ago, Ben Shapiro posted his daily upload to YouTube in which he claims that empathy has no place in government. I like many others found this statement to be outlandish and so I took off to record my response to his statement. Luckily, I did not post my original audio. Instead, I took some time to actually think about his statement. Upon some reflection, I somewhat see his point. We do need intelligence running our country, but at the same time, we need to understand the plights of our fellow man. Therefore, I've come to my own conclusion that we need to be cautious about how we dole out empathy. We can lead with empathy, but use intelligence and wisdom to guide it. Blindly helping others without knowing their situation may lead us to supporting some bad habits of that individual. Enjoy. Joe Biden finally reveals who he has chosen as his Vice President nominee and quite frankly, I'm not a fan. Of all the available female V.P candidates he could've chosen, he went with Kamala Harris? Her track record is not good ladies and gentlemen. She has locked up more African American males for minor drug/crime offenses. She has ruined lives, blocked DNA evidence that would've exonerated many innocent individuals whom she has sent to jail. I'm not a fan of either of these two individuals for the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the United States of America. There were so many other fitting candidates, who actually didn't have shady political pasts. Instead, we are left with "creepy" Joe Biden, who seems to not be aware where he is half the time and struggles to make coherent sentences. On top of that, he is the author of the 1994 crime bill which has devastated the African American community. Then we have Kamala Harris, whose track record speaks for itself. She is the proud enforcer of that crime bill that Biden had passed 26 yrs ago. If this is who we are left with from the Democratic candidates, I fear that we have lost our way as Americans. I think we've all heard this line before, "I don't want no politics in my sports" and quite frankly, that line drives me absolutely nuts. I hate to burst some of your bubbles, but sports and politics have been in bed for decades. From Jackie Robinson, Jim Thorpe, UFC fight decisions, sports franchises decided to leave a city/state, politics really dictate a lot of our sporting events. The NCAA was formed because Teddy Roosevelt didn't want college athletes to continuously change schools. And now the NCAA pretty much controls almost all college athletes livelihoods. So to say sports and politics don't mix, is disingenuous. Join Robinhood with my link and we'll both get a gift stock for the holidays! https://join.robinhood.com/vladimj60 Support this podcast
I don't mind listening to conservatives speak about their beliefs on certain issues or how the US should be governed. Public discord is a healthy thing and should be practiced. Ultimately, we cannot let this type of behavior become "normalized". The trauma it causes, the cyclical nature of it all, and it's predatory nature should not be condoned by a civilized society. In today's episode, we talk about the effects of indoctrination and implicit bias. We all are in one way or another indoctrinated in a train of thought that we don't want to give any grounds on. In many ways, this is fine. More often than not, it gets in the way of having real genuine conversations that can propel us forward. We have a discussion about this and some possible solutions that we could implement to help us overcome this. With the climate that we are facing today, a pandemic, high unemployment rates, political banter, one would think that the issue of race would take a back seat right? Wrong. It has catapulted to the forefront of almost every talking point everywhere. Some say, race isn't an issue, some argue that race is still the issue. No matter what side of the debate you may be on, it is important that we have these discussions as objectively and forthright as possible. In today's episode, I give my opinions on the matter. In order to move forward, there needs to be dialogue. I hope to push that discussion in the right direction. I'm really beginning to think that 24 hour news cycles are pointless. I mean, how long can you milk a story for? Half the time, they aren't even giving you the facts of the story. Instead they are trying to illicit an emotional response. It's even gotten to the point, where they "spec before check". Meaning, that they will give speculations about an event, before giving you the facts. Sports news are more notorious for this than other news outlets. Regardless, it's still an annoyance. Let's discuss.
Recently I've become a father. As I go through this journey with my significant other, I've realized that being a parent isn't as bad as most people say it is. I'm so in love with this little person that I helped create. I simply cannot fathom abandoning this little girl. In today's episode, I talk a little bit about how being a parent is just plain awesome!
I've come to the realization (despite my many previous objections) that family really is important. It helps create a positive community, it helps bring financial equity, and most importantly, it helps to create a set morals that a young individual can abide by in their lives. But, before I came to this realization, I was really against the idea of marriage and starting a family. I wondered why? So, I sat and thought about it for awhile and I think I came up with some ideas. I may be wrong or I may be right, but I wanted to share some thoughts on this with you guys and see what we can come up with. Enjoy!
Ayesha Curry recently made a statement about how she feels unwanted by men. Naturally, the internet went wild with this comment and everyone had an input. I didn't find her comments to be that bad. In fact, I've realized that a lot of women may be feeling this way as well in stable relationships. I find this to be interesting, so let's discuss.
