But we love a good conversation. In this 2 Be Better Podcast episode, Chris and Peaches kick things off with updates on their upcoming December 5–8 coed couples retreat, breaking down details on bunks, private rooms, who can come solo, and why these weekends are so powerful for couples and individuals who want real relationship growth. Then they dive straight into part two of a heavy email from a wife in a long term marriage, struggling with BPD, emotional safety, and a husband who refuses to change because “this is who I was when we got married.” They walk through her written letter, line by line, unpacking abandonment triggers, preloading divorce conversations, the difference between repair and resolution, and how to phrase “I” and “we” language so you are fighting for the relationship instead of fighting each other. If you are in a mentally exhausting marriage where every argument gets turned back on you, you feel like you are doing all the emotional work, or your healing journey is not supported by your spouse, this episode will feel painfully familiar and give you a clearer framework for what healthy communication and real change should look like. From there, they expose the darker side of a husband who openly says he will not evolve, threatens to weaponize the kids in a divorce, and treats his wife as a conversational enemy while she tries to get her BPD into remission and protect her mental health. Chris and Peaches talk hard truths about when it is time to leave, what it actually means to be “too different,” why you cannot raise your husband like a toddler, and why real partnership requires both people to grow, not just the one with a diagnosis. They also respond to a separate email about a boyfriend constantly commenting on other women's bodies, celebrity crushes, and homemade porn in relationships, giving straight talk on lusting after others while in a relationship, self pleasure, and why “hall passes” and “it is just a movie” slowly destroy self esteem and intimacy. If you are craving blunt marriage advice, BPD relationship insight, and no nonsense coaching on emotional safety, porn, and standards in your relationship, this video will give you language, clarity, and the permission to stop settling.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/2-be-better--5828421/support.

Disclaimer: We are not professionals. This podcast is opinioned based and from life experience. This is for entertainment purposes only. Opinions helped by our guests may not reflect our own. But we love a good conversation. In this episode, we sit down with Wes, host of the Modern Fatherhood Podcast, to have a real conversation about what it actually means to be a present father, husband, and provider in a blue collar world. We dig into modern fatherhood, co-parenting struggles, family court battles, and why so many men disappear from their kids' lives after divorce when the co-parenting dynamic turns toxic. We break down “happy wife, happy life,” the cost of chasing overtime checks, burnout, depression, and how many dads are physically in the home but emotionally absent. If you're a blue collar dad, single father, stay at home mom, or a wife trying to understand your husband better, this conversation will give you language and perspective around marriage priorities, work-life balance, and how to put your marriage and kids on solid ground. You'll also hear Wes share his story of becoming a young dad, buying houses, losing himself chasing money, gaining it all back in weight and stress, and then rebuilding his life with intention, men's groups, and massive weight loss. We talk about building better men through mentorship, accountability, and community, the power of men calling each other out when we're slipping, and why your social circle can either hold you down or force you to level up. We hit leadership in the home, how to be the man of the house without becoming a dictator, how to support a stay at home mom as a blue collar husband, and what provision really means beyond money. If you're searching for fatherhood advice, co-parenting tips, men's mental health support, or practical marriage advice for hard-working dads, this episode is for you.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/2-be-better--5828421/support.
Disclaimer: We are not professionals. This podcast is opinioned based and from life experience. This is for entertainment purposes only. Opinions helped by our guests may not reflect our own. But we love a good conversation. In this episode of The 2 Be Better Podcast, we read raw, unfiltered emails from listeners who are trying to live out traditional marriage roles in a very modern world. We talk about a stay-at-home wife who goes back to work full time and finds a new sense of purpose, what happens to the marriage dynamic when she leaves the house, and why her husband's pride “hits different” now that she's in the workforce. We break down communication, teamwork, masculine leadership, feminine submission, mental health, isolation, depression, and what it really takes to rebuild identity when the kids are grown and the house finally goes quiet. If you're into traditional values, biblical style marriage, or just want honest relationship advice from a husband and wife who actually live this, this is your episode. We also dive deep into a girlfriend who wants a traditional relationship while her boyfriend still lives with his parents, how to submit safely only to a man who can truly lead, and what that looks like when you're still living separately. From arguments over conflict styles (talk it out now vs. taking space), to how to avoid weaponizing divorce, to rebuilding emotional and physical intimacy when you're exhausted, we walk through real examples from our own marriage: conflict repair, apologies, boundaries, leadership, and date-night habits that keep you out of the roommate phase. Expect hard truths, practical tools, and real-world traditional marriage advice on submission, leadership, respect, and intimacy that you can start applying in your relationship today.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/2-be-better--5828421/support.

#191 - What if your brain could learn to love better? We sat down with Dr. David Helfand—a therapist with a background in neuroscience—to unpack how neuroplasticity, meditation, and focused couples work can turn recurring fights into lasting repair. From breathwork that calms a spiraling argument to thought logs that retrain pessimism, David shows how small, repeatable practices change both your nervous system and your connection. We dig into why so many “individual” problems live inside relationship dynamics: insomnia worsened by conflict, anxiety sparked by a partner's withdrawal, intimacy dulled by routine. David explains his private couples retreats—three hours of intensive work per day over two to four days—built around four pillars: communication, regulation, prioritization, and intimacy. You'll hear the picnic story that derailed a weekend and what actually sat beneath it, plus a powerful moment of trauma healing that helped a spouse finally understand where the anger was coming from.If novelty bonded you at the start, lack of adventure can quietly pull you apart. We talk practical ways to bring it back: surprise reservations, trade-off date planning, tech-free walks, and playful intimacy that treats the bedroom as exploration, not performance. David also offers clear boundaries on who should attend a retreat and why consent and safety matter. Most of all, you'll leave with a hopeful message: incompatibility is often just a lack of skill, and skills can be learned. If this conversation resonates, share it with someone who could use a nudge toward connection, follow the show, and leave a quick review on Apple or Spotify. In this conversation, Dr. Alexandra totally nerds-out with Dr. Allison Daminger about the division of work in couples, particularly in an often overlooked domain: the mental space. In her research, Daminger found that even when couples approximate parity around “time use”, there are still huge gaps in what she calls “mind use” or cognitive labor… even for modern couples who believe in what she calls the Myth of Mutuality, an equal partnership where both partners evenly share the load. You will hear about the gendered disparities in cognitive labor in the home in a gentle, blame-free way. When it comes to gender roles in family life, we tend to overestimate the effects of individual differences and underestimate the effects of bigger social forces. So if the load is feeling unequal in your partnership, Daminger wants you to move away from guilt and blame and toward strategies that move you closer to your ideals. In this episode, you'll hear about:What constitutes cognitive labor and why women tend to carry the lion's share. Experiences from couples in Allison's research who successfully created shared systems for cognitive labor, and the approaches and conditions that made that possible. The narratives couples use to justify how they divide labor, especially when trying to avoid recreating gendered patterns (while often recreating them anyway). How to spot cognitive labor disparities in your own home and use that awareness to divide responsibilities more fairly based on skill rather than “personality” (i.e., gendered expectations). The pressure that broader societal structures place on individual households, and how reframing the issue can support calls for systemic change. How to start small and make meaningful shifts toward parity in cognitive labor.Resources worth mentioning from the episode:Dr. Allison Daminger's book, What's On Her Mind - The Mental Workload of Family Life: https://bookshop.org/p/books/what-s-on-her-mind-the-mental-workload-of-family-life-allison-daminger/585e2aa7eac0a0eaLearn more about Dr. Allison Daminger and sign up for her newsletter The Daminger Dispatch: https://www.allisondaminger.com/Continue the conversation with Dr. Alexandra Solomon:Ask a question! In this powerful call-in episode of Dr. Judy WTF, Dr. Judy unpacks the difference between being in love and truly loving someone. She explains why the dopamine-filled highs of infatuation can feel like a drug, why those “butterflies” rarely last, and how real love is built on stability, shared values, and emotional safety. Using her Mind Map® system and attachment theory, Dr. Judy traces how childhood wounds, “holes in the soul,” and inconsistent parenting create anxious and avoidant attachment styles that play out in adult relationships.A courageous caller shares how growing up with emotionally unavailable parents led him to repeatedly fall for partners who don't have time for him. Dr. Judy walks him through her “What the Freud”® repetition principle—why we keep choosing rejecters and secretly hope they will finally heal our original pain. She also explores whether the in-love feeling can come back in long-term relationships, how to rekindle sparks with date nights, play, sex, and shared growth, and why becoming the cause of your healing (instead of at the effect of others) is the real path to healthy, mature love.

Dr. Alexandra is in-studio with her husband, Todd, for this special two-part conversation about loving across potentially dealbreaking differences. Inspired by the Netflix show, Nobody Wants This, starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, Dr. Alexandra and Todd reflect on navigating a faith difference, with Dr. Alexandra ultimately converting to Judaism in preparation for their marriage. They discuss the larger question: how can a couple go about navigating ANY potentially dealbreaking difference? In this second part of their studio conversation, Dr. Alexandra and Todd talk about scorekeeping, with gender differences, attachment styles and general disposition/worldview in mind, best practices for the “winner” and “loser” in a change/sacrifice scenario, how to approach making sacrifices to stave off resentment…and then the REAL juicy stuff: does Todd hate that Dr. Alexandra is now a Swiftie like him? In this episode of Relationship Advice, Colter and Cayla sit down with therapist and author Joe Nucci to unpack themes from his book Psychobabble. They dive into common therapy-related myths—like the idea that “everyone needs therapy” or that “more emotional intimacy is always better”—and explore how cultural messages about mental health can sometimes oversimplify or distort deeper truths. The conversation blends humor and insight as they challenge overused self-help tropes, advocate for nuance, and discuss how real growth happens both inside and outside of therapy. Main Talking Points: - Myth: “Everyone needs therapy” — therapy is beneficial but not always necessary - Limited therapist availability and mental health as a social justice issue - Myth: “More emotional intimacy = healthier relationship” — intimacy looks different for everyone - Dangers of over-standardizing “emotional health” in relationships - Therapy as preparation vs. real-world relational growth - Attraction patterns, emotional awareness, and learning through experience Joe's Links: - Instagram - Website Give Me Discounts!
