In the Old Testament, prophets were equipped by God to illuminate His purpose for the people. One such leader, Zechariah, rallied the Jewish people after their Babylonian exile, using a “hope-ray vision” that was vibrant, revealing, and galvanizing. His powerful visions, bold promises, and vivid prophecies revealed God's heart to protect, restore, and lead His people. And that message still rings true today. Join Horizon at the Equipping Services for a verse-by-verse journey through ZECHARIAH as we see how Christ-followers, like the Israelites before us, can rediscover hope by looking deep into God's work.

These acts of faith are reflections of God's light, the brightness that shines when life is dim. Some of those heroic acts make headlines, while others are performed quietly. Tammie Jo Shults developed an early passion for flying, overcoming numerous obstacles to become one of the first female F/A-18 Hornet pilots in the U.S. Navy. Before women were allowed in combat roles, she taught “Out of Control Flight” and served as a bogey/bandit against Top Gun students and other squadrons. After her Navy career, Tammie Jo flew over forest fires and later became a pilot for Southwest Airlines. Her skill and composure gained worldwide recognition on April 17, 2018, when she safely landed Southwest Flight 1380 after an engine failure at high altitude—saving 148 lives. Her memoir, Nerves of Steel, became a National Bestseller. Since retiring from commercial flying in 2020, she continues to volunteer as a pilot and serves on aviation boards. Her honors include an honorary doctorate in Humanities, induction into the International Aviation Hall of Fame, and the Wings Club of New York's Outstanding Aviator Award. It takes us through the Passion Week and shows how Jesus worshiped in His darkest hour through prayer, sacrifice, weeping, outreach, and song. Each week highlights a unique expression of worship, drawing from the narratives of the Last Supper, Gethsemane, the crucifixion, and the triumph of Christ's resurrection. This series invites us to see worship as a daily response to God's love, inspired by Jesus' example and the actions of those around Him. Join Horizon for this verse-by-verse study at the Equipping services, meeting Sundays at 8:30 and 9:45 a.m.

To be successful, an archaeologist needs the stamina of an explorer, the intelligence of a scientist, the consideration of a historian, and the optimism of a child. In many ways, those same characteristics serve us well as we investigate faith. Skeptics who want proof are often surprised to learn that there's historical and archaeological evidence to support the historical Jesus. The places mentioned in scripture are actual locales, and scientists have worked tirelessly there for centuries to investigate the veracity of the Bible and its claims. Join Horizon at the 11 a.m. Exploring Service as we look at those findings in RAIDERS OF THE LOST CITIES, a journey of discovery and truth through archaeology.
