    Lyn's got a brand-new 2020 Afrofantasy novel to recommend especially for the 6th-8th grade readers out there--Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko. Great, big world-building fantasy and exciting, wide-ranging action adventure narratives combine along with a cursed child/coming of age plot, and it fits perfectly in that hard-to-find age range.
