Service Management Leadership Podcast with Jeffrey Tefertiller
In this episode kengon talks with Matt Stamper about the risks associated with TikTok and its implications for individuals, organizations, and the United States.
Special guest, Lauren Stamper (@diaperfreediaries), talks to us about exposing children to potty training at a very early age. This "diaper free" method (which is not strictly diaperless) can save you money and have your child out of diapers by their first birthday. Lauren's a mom of two and it's worked with both of her kiddos.
From the very beginning, art has been the driving force in Laura Stamper's life. As a child, she couldn't resist the urge to draw. And when paper wasn't immediately available during a creative moment the walls of her room were the next best thing. Laura considers herself an artist of multiple mediums and she still has a very strong love affair with painting. During our conversation Laura and I explore the transformative power of art and creativity. Laura shares her journey as an artist, embracing mistakes, and finding inspiration in nature and fantasy. We discuss the spiritual practice of creating, and the chaos of life that often influences artistic expression. She approaches her art and life embracing play, exploration, and the beauty of imperfection. She embraces mistakes and takes an intuitive approach to creating art. Laura was a pure joy to talk to. I found myself laughing one moment, then thinking deeply the next. And moments like these are ones I enjoy the most when in conversation with another. And friends, I forgot to mention it in the intro, but there is a little adult language so you may want to listen to this when young ones aren't around. Follow Laura... Former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn Stines, accused of fatally shooting District Judge Kevin Mullins in a shocking courthouse incident, is seeking to have his charges reduced from murder to manslaughter. Stines' defense attorney, Jeremy Bartley, argued that the killing was a “crime of passion,” carried out during an “extreme emotional disturbance” and thus warrants a lesser charge. “It was not something that was planned and occurred in the heat of passion,” Bartley stated in an interview with *People*. “For us, the highest level of culpability should be manslaughter based on the partial defense of extreme emotional disturbance.” The tragic encounter between the two longtime friends, Stines, 43, and Mullins, 54, occurred inside Mullins' chambers in the Letcher County Courthouse. Surveillance footage revealed the pair in a tense discussion before Stines drew a gun and aimed it at Mullins' head. The footage showed Mullins sitting behind his desk, raising his hands in apparent fear as Stines fired eight rounds, with Mullins attempting to hide under the desk. Prosecutors presented the footage last week, showcasing Mullins' desperate attempts to avoid the gunfire. The video reportedly captures Stines approaching Mullins, who was crouched beneath the desk, and firing two additional shots at close range before leaving the room where Mullins had served as judge for 15 years. According to Kentucky Detective Clayton Stamper, additional footage captured Stines making multiple calls to his daughter on both his own phone and Mullins'. Stamper testified that police found Stines' daughter's number saved on the judge's phone. Shortly after the shooting, Stines surrendered to law enforcement, asking them to “treat me fair” as he was taken into custody. In an unusual twist, he informed the police, “They're trying to kidnap my wife and kid,” though authorities have yet to elaborate on the specifics of this statement. While the motivation behind the violent confrontation remains unclear, authorities have suggested a potential link to a sex scandal, though they have not provided further details. Stines has entered a plea of not guilty to first-degree murder and is currently being held at the Leslie County Jail. The case has moved to a grand jury, with the prosecution and defense preparing for upcoming proceedings. As the investigation continues, detectives are examining the cellphones involved and interviewing additional witnesses to shed light on the events leading to this fatal encounter. Trevor Stamper—Trevor has had aspirations of being a Not-Quite-So-Dark Master for numerous years, tormenting players in home campaigns on at least two continents. At the age of 10, Trevor was launched into an AD&D game with his friends on Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. But once he moved to England, he lost touch with the game and explored other classics—Indiana Jones, Twilight 2000, Gangbusters, Traveller 2300—until Joel Phillips reintroduced him to D&D BECMI style when he was 15. From there it has been a life-long passion for gaming and creating things other players can enjoy. Trevor has published before in minor ways—a few articles in the now defunct ENWorld Journal, and some really minor contributions when Kobold Press was doing Open Design. He has also extensively playtested material for almost thirty years—starting with Werewolf first edition for White Wolf, to most recently a plethora of Fantasy Flight Games' offerings in the Warhammer 40K and Star Wars ranges. Author of Conflicted: Pulling Back the Curtain on Public Education, John Stamper joins the Master Books Podcast to discuss the critical role of parenting in a child's salvation and education. John left the Chicago Public School System because his Christian values were in conflict with what he was mandated to teach his students. In this episode we focus on Chapter 10 of his book entitled Parents Matter where John exposes the "intentional, systematic, and devastating war that's being waged on parents and traditional family values in this country." pg 133 (07:48) We discuss: Parents are the first model of the gospel for their children and how the public education system undermines Christian doctrine and the parent's Christian influence. (07:30) Homeschooling from a biblical worldview is following the model of the Bible Parents have the opportunity to model to children that God loves them. The public school education agenda is not designed to reinforce this fact, instead it seeks to dismiss evidence God exists. (10:07) The doctrine of intersectionality (intersecting identities) which divides people into enemies assigning people roles based on their race, gender, religion, etc. into "oppressors" and "the oppressed." For example, Christians and straight men are actually labeled as "oppressive." This turns classmates and colleagues into enemies which dismantles the Christian value of unity. (12:45) John's experience revealing how school system is designed to disrupt the nuclear family. (14:30) Marxism in the education system today. Carl Marx's intended purpose was to "dethrone God." John Stamper reveals how the influence of Black Lives Matter is destructive to the nuclear family and how it is being promoted within the school system. (14:55) We see how families are divided and undermined in school policies such as the "parental secrecy policies. (15:45) The freedom to choose to live out the hope of life in Christ by fulfilling God's Word in Deuteronomy 6 to teach your children the Word and ways of God diligently throughout each day. (19:19) John exposes the early sexualization of children within the public schools as young as kindergarten using concepts like the "gender unicorn." John explains how this goes beyond brainwashing to being a form of kidnapping their mind and their soul. John shows this is similar to strategies used by Lennon in the USSR. (21:19) Public school teachers are told not to tell parents if their children are living an identity at school than they are at home. (23:29) Stamper reveals how history is repeating itself exposing how the strategy of indoctrination and division of families was successful and the birth of devastation such as the Holocaust and World War 2. This is outlined in chapter 8 of his book, Conflicted, entitled "Learning from Marxism and Communism in the 20th Century." (26:32) Churches and families can partner together to make homeschooling more affordable with a new program: Christian Education Scholarship Program (CESP). (29:12) John invites listeners to his podcast: The State of the State School.
