Remember when we tried to record a season in the midst of a pandemic AND a chronic stress-inducing election in 2020? Lol, and then we couldn't bring ourselves to keep going? Believe it or not, smack dab in the middle of election day and the declaration of Joe Biden as president, in tandem while isolated in our homes, we decided to sit down, watch a Bollywood favorite, Dil To Pagal Hai, and record a roast of it for 45 minutes. It gave us the levity we needed then and since 2021 is no better we decided to release this episode now. We invite you to laugh with us as we discuss this film and share our top WTF moments. Why should the film and music industries have all of the fun? We decided to hold an awards show for representation by brown people in the past year. We also include our own version of the Razzies! In part two of #AnsariNotSorry, the Jilted Indians discuss the journalism, and the response of brown women in media to the Aziz debacle (us included!). Since our record, even more response articles came out, including two amazing Huff Post articles by Nadya Agrawal and Brittany Wong. Where do we go from here when it comes to the spectrum of consent?

We had to call a therapist for this one. The Jilted Indians met up with LMFT Shameela Keshavjee to discuss the necessity of expanding the conversation surrounding consent and sexual misconduct. The Babe.net Aziz Ansari story that broke out after the Golden Globes has spurred dozens and dozens of response articles and dialogue in media. This is part 1, where we discuss the state of feminism in media leading up to this very moment in #metoo and #TimesUp. We discuss what happened between Grace and Aziz and our thoughts on the responses to her story. We poured drinks, did some deep breathing over lavender essential oils to quell our rage and at one point Miranda had to lie down on the floor to breathe slowly (you would have too if you were her). One year and 29 episodes later, here we are. Last weekend was the 1 year anniversary of the largest demonstration in US history, the Women's March. We decided to share with you are few moments we have been keeping in our back pockets. Featured audio clips come from the Women's Convention (Kirsten Gillibrand, Maxine Waters), The Black Women's March, and The March Against White Supremacy. Toward the end is a recording of Puja's thoughts from the day before the Women's March last year as well as a quote from Auntie Maxine to set the tone for 2018.

The cinematography was gorgeous, the men were...good looking? What? After a google search of Padmavati, we learned some troubling news stories about this movie release concerning protests, theaters set on fire, and death threats issued to the lead actress and director. We guessed this concerned misogynistic white sari fantasies and ties to Hindu Nationalism. Turns out, we were right.
