A couple of weeks ago , a bloke was swimming in Wangi Falls , NT when he was attacked by a saltwater crocodile . All hell broke loose and 80 or so people rushed for the waters edge , some people getting stuck on rocks while waiting for the croc to piss off. Luckily for the man who was bitten , it was just a little love bite and he had a few scratches on his arms and back according to reports . The attack sparked a croc hunt , with one bloke offering to give the victim the head of the croc once it was found. It also caused an old debate to start back up about the culling of saltwater crocodiles being reintroduced in the Northern Territory as other reports of crocs being where 'they aren't supposed to' came about. In this episode I suggested going to Mataranka thermal pools instead of Bitter Springs as its a lot safer when it comes to crocs. Living in the Top End of Australia there was never a dull moment . This was largely due to the massive crocodile population that provided a bottomless pit of content for the NT News . When I started my blog , they featured on every second post and my one and only published book includes crocs in gthe title . Fred was born a showman , and to this day runs the last Australian boxing tent - a travelling troupe of boxers who challange the locals for a turn in the ring for prize money . Its been quite a while since I decided to take some time off to look after our newest member of our fam , Jack . In 2017 , four inmates escaped Indonesia's notorious Keroboken prison . Indonesian police were confidant they would have them back in prison within days . Four years later , two of the men are still on the run leaving the police , media and the world baffled as to where they could be . One of the men , Perth local Shaun Davidson has been sending both the police and the media cheeky clues via Facebook but to this day no one knows if he is sipping cocktails on the beach in Barbados , or still hiding out somewhere in Bali.

Coober Pedy - It might be a remote town smack bang in the middle of the desert but the town has certainly seen it's fair share of both famous and infamous people over the years . From Billy Connelly to Latvian born soldier turned croc hunter turned Opal miner Crocodile Harry and the USA Speedway community  , it seems this little Opal Mining town attracts people worldwide. The Adelaide River is one of the most crocodile infested rivers in the world . Some of these croc's are so big they are often described as monster croc's.  In today's episode though , the monsters have two legs and walk on land . In fact , their crime was so awful it seems even the crocodiles weren't having any part in it. The day Phu Ngoc Trinh and Ben Mclean met at high school was the start of a friendship that would eventually destroy the lives of four families. Only in 2020 could Humpback Whales get stuck in a croc infested river in Kakadu , NT . For a start , they have no business being in the area as they should be well and truly on their way to Antarctica by now . But hey , not much surprises me at the moment ! Life as a receptionist booking out Adult Entertainment in Australia's number one party hotspot was lots of things - boring wasn't one of them . It's no secret I have a slight obsession with Crocodiles ( and pretty much everything else from the Topend ) so today I thought I'd share some of my favourite croc stories, including the fight over which state can claim bragging rights over the biggest living croc in captivity , to a lady who lives with crocodiles in her living room. For years the outback has been the number one hotspot for UFO's , so much so that one tiny town on the Stuart Highway claims to be the Aussie UFO capitol . There have been many news reports over the years but no one can top the NT News for wacky UFO stories - something Media watch tried to dispute but they totally got owned by the cheeky editor of the paper at the time , Julian Ricci , which I cover in this episode.   We then move on to Yowies , as I once had a Yowie Hunting neighbour who sparked my interest in this mythical giant ape. But with so many sightings over the years , it leaves you wondering how mythical they are. When I was growing up , I'd heard the legends of what dangers lurked in the bush , waiting to kill unsuspecting humans. Dropbears , Yowies , Bunyips and Hoopsnakes . Most people think they are made up , however I am here to tell you Hoopsnakes are very real. Just maybe not as deadly as legend would have it. (On a side note - I'm wondering who decided that Australian wildlife wasn't scary enough that they had to make up a few more deadly creatures to scare the general public ? Like hello, man eating crocodiles aren't enough ?) When Peter Falconio went missing in the vast Aussie Outback , it was one of the biggest mysteries of my time. It gained attention from all over the world , as Pete's girlfriend , Joanne Lees had survived the attack , but much to everyone's frustration remained reluctant to talk about it publicly. She was quickly condemmend , reminding everyone of another woman who refused to show emotion to the press , Lindy Chamberlain.  Although drug runner Bradley Murdoch was arrested and convicted of Pete's murder , it is a subject that has sparked many a debate for years. Is Joanne telling the truth about what happened that night or does she know more than we think ? Why would a seasoned drug runner kill a man on a national highwway in a supposed random attack ?  This new documentry , Murder in The Outback claims there is more evidence we dont know about including 'sensational' new evidence from the truckie who picked Joanne up involving a mysterious red car. Frustratingly this doco throws up more questions than answers. Up in the lush tropical forest near Cape York in North Queensland , Australia there is a mysterious mountain , made out of giant black granite boulders . It's called Black Rock Mountain , or Kalkajaka and is a sacred site to the Indigenous people of the area. They strongly advise against entering or climbing the mountain and for a good reason. Most people who enter the mountain to explore the passages and caves within , are never seen again. Those who make it out have sworn they would never go back . It's even driven some people to the brink of insanity. This episode covers these disappearances , and the possible explanations for them. These include UFO's , giant man eating snakes , venomous spiders and an underground Alien base , where giant reptilian aliens capture humans as slaves. In what has to be the most insane story I've told yet , today's episode is the story of Jonothon Stenberg , the man who decapitated his neighbour Edward 'Ned' Kelly then took off up north, Darwin bound. On his way through Outback Queensland he spotted a poster advertising auditions for Aussie movie 'Mystery Road' , Directed by David Jowsey and starring Roy Billing , Hugo Weaving and Aaron Pederson. Deciding to try his hand at acting , it turned out he was a natural , and won the role . Unfortunately for Jonothon ( and probably fortunately for the cast and crew ) he was unable to take the role , as he had more pressing matters , such as evading police and sparking a manhunt that spanned 3 states . Although he never made it to the movies , this is a story that definitely should be turned into one ( If it does I'm keen to work on that particular script!!) Bill the bastard was arguably the toughest Australian Lighthorse in history. Good luck trying to ride him though. Today's episode I get a tad passionate about the plight of the Brumbies in the Victorian High Country , most of which have links to the heritage of Australian Lighthorse's . As I mention in the podcast , I am useless at legal jargon and politics ,  so I've decided to tell Bill's story instead. Because Bill is proof that these horses are not useless feral animals that need culling. A lot of the soldiers who attempted to stay on Bill for longer than a minute may have disagreed. Today since its bloody freezing where I am in NSW , Australia, I thought I'd take us up to the tropics , where the air is warm , the beer is cold  ... and most of the wildlife wants to kill you.  Rob Bredyl aka The Barefoot Bushman and his family have been a huge part in wildlife conservation , in particular crocodiles . Rob's Dad , Josef played a big part in the Government ban on hunting and killing crocodiles. In this episode I talk about the Bredyl family and the famous croc attack that saw Rob miraculously escape with all limbs in tact , proving again what a tough old bugger he is ... And my personal experience visiting Bredyl's wildlife farm, meeting Rob's nephew Zeb , who was there the day of the attack ... and dealing with my housemate , a 40 year old man who screamed like a girl when he was confronted with crocodiles.
