What happens when two podcast co-hosts meet in person for the very first time? Chaos, camaraderie, and questionable fire-starting skills, of course. In this special (and slightly smoky) episode, Paul and Alex finally ditch the video calls and link up face-to-face—at a remote campsite, no less. Joined by Dustin from Hands On Adventures, the trio sets up a camping meetup and rigs a live podcast recording right in the great outdoors. Expect plenty of laughs, a few gear fails, and some behind-the-scenes magic as they prep for their most hands-on episode yet. Tents are pitched. Mics are hot. S'mores are... mildly burnt. Tune in for campfire vibes, real talk, and a whole lot of forest-fueled fun.

In today's episode of Backpacker Radio, presented by The Trek, brought to you by Topo Athletic, we're joined by former guest, Trek writer, and certified gear nerd Alex “GPS” Brown. The focus of this one is how to save money on your backpacking kit. We break this one down category by category, sharing the best ways to cut costs, pinpointing which items aren't worth pinching pennies on, offering specific product shoutouts, and discussing overall strategies to ensure more of your hiking budget goes toward your hike. Whether you're on a shoestring budget or just looking to save a few bucks, this episode is for you. We wrap the show with news on a partial reversal of NPS layoffs, a debate on whether we'd prefer to be chased by a bizarrely fast turtle or lug around a backpack full of jelly, and the triple crown of foods we wish we had discovered sooner. What is the psychology behind why they stay loyal to certain brands. Is it because some brands continue to innovate? Or is it that some brands market their products so well..... City crews removed tents at the Gompers Park encampment Wednesday morning in Mayfair. The tent removals came after neighbors and elected officials pushed for the park to be restored, and as advocates worried encampment residents would be forced out amid subzero wind chills.Host - Jon HansenReporter - Moly DeVoreRead More Here Want to donate to our non-profit newsroom? CLICK HEREWho we areBlock Club Chicago is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit news organization dedicated to delivering reliable, relevant and nonpartisan coverage of Chicago's diverse neighborhoods. We believe all neighborhoods deserve to be covered in a meaningful way.We amplify positive stories, cover development and local school council meetings and serve as watchdogs in neighborhoods often ostracized by traditional news media.Ground-level coverageOur neighborhood-based reporters don't parachute in once to cover a story. They are in the neighborhoods they cover every day building relationships over time with neighbors. We believe this ground-level approach not only builds community but leads to a more accurate portrayal of a neighborhood.Stories that matter to you — every daySince our launch five years ago, we've published more than 25,000 stories from the neighborhoods, covered hundreds of community meetings and send daily and neighborhood newsletters to more than 130,000 Chicagoans. We've built this loyalty by proving to folks we are not only covering their neighborhoods, we are a part of them. Some of us have internalized the national media's narrative of a broken Chicago. We aim to change that by celebrating our neighborhoods and chronicling the resilience of the people who fight every day to make Chicago a better place for all.

In this lesson I mentioned articles available at the excellent scholarly Christian teaching website, “GotQuestions.org.” The first (see link below) is comments and thoughts on the Lord's command to His people not to mention other false gods nor even use their names. The article provides some interesting thoughts and ideas that will only add to your study of the Bible in this podcast. The 2nd article is related to the Canaanites. Who are they? What is so important regarding these pagan tribes who inhabited the “Promised Land” the Lord was to give to Israel. Link 1 - NOT MENTION OTHER GODS https://www.gotquestions.org/names-of-other-gods.html Link 2 – WHO ARE THE CANAANITES https://www.gotquestions.org/Canaanites.html I would recommend the following historical article as well related to the Canaanites - CANAANITE CULTURE - https://biblechat.ai/knowledgebase/old-testament/pentateuch/what-were-religious-practices-beliefs-canaanites/ For the first time in the Bible in Exodus 23 the Lord, יהוה Yahvay, commands the Hebrews that they will do three celebrations only to HIM. They are similar to the feasts practiced among the pagan Canaanites in the “Promised Land.” We know them as the Feast of Unleavened Bread also known as Passover, the Feast of Weeks or Shavuot or Pentecost, and the Feast of Tents or Tabernacles in Hebrew as Sukkot. These are three harvest celebrations in the spring, the early summer, and the fall. At this time we will not go in depth into these festivals. However, the lessons on all of God's feast (there are eight of them and not seven as taught by many in the church that do not read God's word carefully) are complete and ready. I mentioned in this podcast that here in the “Comment Section” that I would supply the links to the Playlists for each feast. See the links below. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
