She is currently investigating how urban water systems impact distant rural communities whose lands are cleared for reservoirs. As a professor of anthropology, April teaches courses on Native American culture, museum ethics, and forensic anthropology. Lectures for her archaeology seminar, Ruins and Haunting History, are available on Youtube.
