A year later, Ben was deployed in Timor-Leste for 8 months as part of the Ready Company Group. Overall, Ben spent seven years in the Army, despite suffering two injuries. Since that time, Ben has worked as the Chief Information Security Officer for a defence contractor and has extensive knowledge, experience and expertise in cyber security. With the announcement of the Labor's plan for the 1022sq/km offshore wind project between Stanwell Park and Kiama, Ben is standing up for his community and resisting Labor's blatant disregard for the local Illawarra community. The conversation about 2SLGBTQ+ people's participation in STEM is ramping up more and more, and we're talking about what employers and those in academia can do to create a more welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for 2SLGBTQ+ folks. Oh AND, among other things, he has written a fictional novel, Gravity Leak, which is in the publishing stages, with an accompanying album of self-composed music, which, is a main topic of our discussion today.
