#669 How do you build a beloved, nationally-recognized ice cream brand from scratch — and then turn around and create a completely different company redefining dietary fiber in America? In this episode, host Kirsten Tyrrel sits down with Jeni Britton — founder of the iconic Jeni's Ice Creams and now founder of Floura — to talk about creativity, curiosity, and the emotional side of entrepreneurship. Jeni shares how she started with nothing but vision, passion, and a gelato machine from a local Italian market, how she bootstrapped her way from a farmer's market stand to 90 stores and 10,000 grocery doors, and why she believes emotion, intuition, and integrity are the true drivers of a lasting brand. From building a fellowship-style team to navigating growth, trust, and leadership, this conversation is packed with wisdom for founders who want to build something meaningful — and do it their own way! What we discuss with Jeni: + Starting Jeni's in a farmer's market + Vision born from scent and storytelling + Bootstrapping with no capital + Turning produce waste into fiber products + Launching Floura and “bridging the fiber gap” + Importance of emotion in business + Building a fellowship-style team + Trust and communication in leadership + Learning to step back as founder + Success driven by passion and curiosity Thank you, Jeni! We're so excited about this week's Coaches Corner interview with none other than Jordyn Wieber, now in her sixth season as head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks! Even with some key injuries last season, the Razorbacks still put together a strong run. Remember, they upset both LSU and Florida when those teams were ranked No. 2 in the nation! While the end of the season didn't go quite as planned — missing out on SEC Championships and not qualifying for NCAAs as a team — we think that's just going to light a fire under them heading into this year.Expect the Razorbacks to bring the heat in 2026. Between the talented returners, some big-name transfers, and an incredible freshman class — plus Joscelyn Roberson, who just brought home a World Championship bronze medal on vault — this Razorback squad is stacked and ready to make some noise.A huge shoutout to our friend Anthony for helping us out with this interview. A Kiwi is at the helm of the latest movie in an iconic franchise. The first Predator film was released in 1987, and four films —and two Alien vs Predator films— and 38 years later, Kiwi-born Dimitrius Koloamatangi holds a starring role in ‘Predator: Badlands'. Auditioning for the role of Dek was a bit of a funny process, Koloamatangi revealed to Mike Hosking. “My character is obviously an alien, so he doesn't really speak English,” “So I had to do a take in just like, a made-up language.” While the audition process had Koloamatangi integrating elements of Samoan and Tongan into his own language, for the actual film, he had to learn something entirely new. “When I jumped on, I had thought I could just freestyle and do my own thing, which I was like, ‘oh this is gonna be fantastic, no lines.'” “But then they were like, oh we're gonna set you up with the Zoom call with this guy named Britton who constructed the whole language,” Koloamatangi told Hosking. “I was like, bro, I have to learn a whole made up language? Like, I struggle Samoan somewhat fluently, now I have to learn this? But it was fun.” The Predator franchise is iconic, boasting a massive fanbase, including Koloamatangi's father. “My dad's a massive fan of the first one – we used to watch that one a lot growing up,” he said. “It's pretty surreal to be honest,” “The franchise has such a massive fan base, like you said, spans like 20 years, you know, and, yeah, it's kind of crazy to think that I'm now a part of it.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In a world where every kindergartner has access to an iPad, does handwriting still matter? The answer, according to handwriting expert Holly Britton, is yes – and it's not just a penmanship issue; it's a thinking issue. In this episode, Holly explains why the way we teach handwriting is critical for young learners. We dive into why handwriting is such a powerful tool for cognitive development and why, without it, kids are missing out on vital brain connections. As more classrooms move toward digital devices, Holly makes the case that handwriting is still the key to unlocking deeper learning and success in all areas. Britton believes companies like Amazon (AMZN) are already feeling the impact of A.I. on their bottom lines. He argues that it's not just about having the resources to deploy A.I. but making tough decisions that impact the workforce long-term. I chat with Entertainment Attorney and Director of The Autism Scene, host of the AuSPEC Awards, Britton Payne. We talk about his history working as "Superman's Lawyer" at DC Comics (including an amazing perk) as well as Warner Brothers and Nickelodeon and how different studios have different approaches to animation lawyers. Plus he talks about how he started The Autism Scene and the AuSPEC Awards as a way to encourage more autistic characters in popular animation, to both boost exposure for those on the autism spectrum and to normalize autism for others. In our "Back in Time" segment, we talk about how he actually started on the creative side, working as a writer/director, before going to law school and merging his two passions. Plus, as always, great advice, this time on how to start a career as an entertainment attorney by standing out and making connections. For most of your life, retirement planning has likely centered around saving and building wealth. But what happens when the paychecks stop and it's time to start replacing your income withdrawing from your retirement savings and investments? In this episode, SHP Financial Co-Founder Derek Gregoire is joined by Kyle Britton, Lead Advisor at SHP Financial. Together, they explore what it truly means to go beyond the Xs and Os of investing and step into retirement with purpose, clarity, and confidence. Drawing from real client stories and recent research, Kyle highlights what truly drives happiness in retirement and how to create a plan that supports both your finances and your fulfillment. In this podcast interview, you'll learn: Why retirement planning goes far beyond investments and tax strategies. The biggest psychological hurdle retirees face: giving themselves permission to spend. How to shift your mindset from "Do I have enough?" to "What's possible?" in retirement. The four key ingredients of a fulfilling retirement, according to a recent MassMutual study. After last season's historic performance, there was no way we couldn't have Shannon Welker on to preview the upcoming season for the Missouri Tigers.Last season, Mizzou finished third — the highest finish in program history — and reached several other milestones, including advancing to the evening session of the SEC Championships for the first time. The vibes are good heading into this season as the Tigers look to pick up where they left off and build on last year's success. The team features a few transfers, several returners coming back from injury, and a strong freshman class that could make an immediate impact in the lineup and keep Mizzou in the postseason conversation once again. We hope you enjoy this preseason chat with head coach Shannon Welker.Thank you to our monthly Patreon supporters: Lee B, Cookiemaster, Christa, Happy Girl, Erica S, Semflam, Amy C, Maria L, Becca S, Cathleen R, Faith, Kerry M, M, Derek H, Martin, Sharon B, Randee B, MSU, Kimberly G, Robert H, Lela M, Mara L, Jenna A, Alex M, Mama T, Kelsey, Lidia, Maria P, Alicia O, Cristina K, Bethany J, Diane J, Kentiemac, Marni S, Betny T, Emily C, Cathy D, Lisa T, Libby C, Thiago, Taryn M, Dana B, Jamie S, Chuck C, Je_GL, Kaitlin, Susan P, Katertot, Mallory D, LFC_Hokie, Ella, Debbie, Kay, Diane J, Julie B,, Austin K, Jane, Sarah, Amy, Stephen S, Johanna T, Alison S, Kristina T, Abigail W, Becky, Ola S, Jennifer K, Kate M, Claudia, Erin L, Sarah A, Kennedy B, Thomas B, Kihika N, Beth C, Amy, Renee PM, Ryan V, Brandon H, Tyler, Hayley B, Ben S, Kate & Landon, Danielle, ALittleUnderRotated, Dana C, Grace, Pat G , Lexi G, Laura N, Kathy, Katie A, Ruby B,, Róisín, Becca, Megan J, Emily D, Britton, Ry Shep, Reyna G, William A, MB, Jackson G, Brittany A, Stella, Ulo F, Noah C, Melissa H, Alexis, William M, Trish, Susie, Leslie G, Catherine B, Karlin, Laura L, Katy S, J'nia G, Kathy M, Kathy S, Okcaro, Caroline P, JD B, Cookiecutter, Ailish D, Wil D, Caroline M, kcmojojojo, Sammy S, Fabio B, Kerry H, Ricardo A, Brandon, Leah D, Joe S & Margaret G!

This week, Britton goes through Philippians 3:12-16. We see in this passage that actions alone do not equal to following Jesus. Following Jesus entails a loving affection of Him that is imitable by others. Who is imitating you? Who are you imitating? At Oaks, we exist to send disciplemakers of Jesus by being disciplemakers of Jesus.
We're excited to continue the Coaches Corner series this week with our interview with Utah head coach Carly Dockendorf. Utah is coming off its 50th year as a program, and even though it wasn't the ending the Utes had hoped for — finishing fourth — it was still a very successful year. They won the Big 12 title in their first year in the conference and qualified for the Final Four for the fifth consecutive year. Today, Carly joins us to reflect on last season's success, areas they hope to improve this season, athletes to watch, and more!Thank you to our monthly Patreon supporters: Lee B, Cookiemaster, Christa, Happy Girl, Erica S, Semflam, Amy C, Maria L, Becca S, Cathleen R, Faith, Kerry M, M, Derek H, Martin, Sharon B, Randee B, MSU, Kimberly G, Robert H, Lela M, Mara L, Jenna A, Alex M, Mama T, Kelsey, Lidia, Maria P, Alicia O, Cristina K, Bethany J, Diane J, Kentiemac, Marni S, Betny T, Emily C, Cathy D, Lisa T, Libby C, Thiago, Taryn M, Dana B, Jamie S, Chuck C, Je_GL, Kaitlin, Susan P, Katertot, Mallory D, LFC_Hokie, Ella, Debbie, Megan F, Kay, Diane J, Julie B,, Austin K, Jane, Sarah, Amy, Stephen S, Johanna T, Alison S, Kristina T, Abigail W, Becky, Ola S, Jennifer K, Kate M, Claudia, Erin L, Sarah A, Kennedy B, Thomas B, Kihika N, Beth C, Amy, Renee PM, Ryan V, Brandon H, Tyler, Hayley B, Ben S, Kate & Landon, Danielle, ALittleUnderRotated, Dana C, Grace, Pat G , Lexi G, Laura N, Kathy, Katie A, Ruby B,, Róisín, Becca, Megan J, Emily D, Britton, Ry Shep, Reyna G, William A, MB, Jackson G, Brittany A, Stella, Ulo F, Noah C, Melissa H, Alexis, William M, Trish, Susie, Leslie G, Catherine B, Karlin, Laura L, Katy S, J'nia G, Kathy M, Kathy S, Okcaro, Caroline P, JD B, Cookiecutter, Ailish D, Wil D, Caroline M, kcmojojojo, Sammy S, Fabio B, Kerry H, Ricardo A, Brandon & Leah D!
When one partner wants sex all the time and the other doesn't, it can create deep tension, and sometimes even lead to betrayal. In this video, we talk honestly about what happens when an overly sexual man and an undersexual woman try to navigate intimacy, unmet needs, and the pain that can come from infidelity. We explore what's really behind these mismatched desires, how resentment and shame build up over time, and what it takes to heal and rebuild trust after it's been broken. This isn't about blame, it's about understanding, communication, and learning how to reconnect in a way that feels safe, honest, and real. If you've struggled with desire differences or are trying to recover from infidelity, this conversation will help you see what healing can actually look like.

Handwriting isn't just about neat letters on a page. It's a critical foundation for learning, memory, and self-expression. Handwriting specialist and founder of Squiggle Squad, Holly Britton joins me as we explore why handwriting is so much more than just putting letters on paper. It's about freeing up working memory so kids can actually learn, think, and express themselves. Holly shares how the lack of explicit handwriting instruction in early education can ripple into challenges with higher-level skills like comprehension, organizing ideas, and even self-expression. We also explore what this means for neurodivergent kids, why typing isn't always a simple substitute, and how intentional, step-by-step teaching can make all the difference. We're kicking off the third annual Coaches Corner series with none other than Jeff Graba, head coach of the Auburn Tigers.Last season, Auburn came in with one of the most highly anticipated freshman classes in the country and looked poised to make a strong run to nationals. Unfortunately, mid-season injuries to two key all-arounders — freshman Katelyn Jong and senior Olivia Hollingsworth — made for an uphill battle. Still, we were incredibly impressed with how the team stayed in the mix, pushing all the way to the final day of regionals with a real shot at advancing. This year, despite graduating some veteran talent, Auburn reloads with another standout freshman class and a roster full of athletes who now bring valuable competitive experience. They're shaping up to be a team to watch once again.Jeff joins us to preview the upcoming season, share what he's seeing in the gym so far, and give you a few tips on who you might want to keep an eye on for your Fantasy Gym draft!Thank you to our monthly Patreon supporters: Lee B, Cookiemaster, Christa, Happy Girl, Erica S, Semflam, Amy C, Maria L, Becca S, Cathleen R, Faith, Kerry M, M, Derek H, Martin, Sharon B, Randee B, MSU, Kimberly G, Robert H, Lela M, Mara L, Jenna A, Alex M, Mama T, Kelsey, Lidia, Maria P, Alicia O, Cristina K, Bethany J, Diane J, Kentiemac, Marni S, Betny T, Emily C, Cathy D, Lisa T, Libby C, Thiago, Taryn M, Dana B, Jamie S, Chuck C, Je_GL, Kaitlin, Susan P, Katertot, Mallory D, LFC_Hokie, Ella, Debbie, Megan F, Kay, Diane J, Julie B,, Austin K, Jane, Sarah, Amy, Stephen S, Johanna T, Alison S, Kristina T, Abigail W, Becky, Ola S, Jennifer K, Kate M, Claudia, Erin L, Sarah A, Kennedy B, Thomas B, Kihika N, Beth C, Amy, Renee PM, Ryan V, Brandon H, Tyler, Hayley B, Ben S, Kate & Landon, Danielle, ALittleUnderRotated, Dana C, Grace, Pat G , Lexi G, Laura N, Kathy, Katie A, Ruby B,, Róisín, Becca, Megan J, Emily D, Britton, Ry Shep, Reyna G, William A, MB, MJ L, Jackson G, Brittany A, Stella, Ulo F, Noah C, Melissa H, Alexis, William M, Trish, Susie, Leslie G, Catherine B, Karlin, Laura L, Katy S, J'nia G, Kathy M, Kathy S, Okcaro, Caroline P, JD B, Cookiecutter, Ailish D, Wil D, Caroline M, kcmojojojo, Sammy S, Fabio B, Kerry H, Ricardo A & Brandon!

Today's guest is a consistency queen and one of the leaders of Kentucky's team – Delaynee Rodriquez. Delaynee is underrated in the sense that she's not necessarily the one bringing home all the awards or accolades, but she's the one silently killing it in the background for her team—starting them off strong week after week and consistently delivering reliable 9.85+ scores on every event, giving her team a solid foundation to build on. Now, as she enters her junior year, we could see her stepping into a leadership role even more and becoming one of the top all-arounders in the country this season.Thank you to our monthly Patreon supporters: Lee B, Cookiemaster, Christa, Happy Girl, Erica S, Semflam, Amy C, Maria L, Becca S, Cathleen R, Faith, Kerry M, M, Derek H, Martin, Sharon B, Randee B, MSU, Kimberly G, Robert H, Lela M, Mara L, Jenna A, Alex M, Mama T, Kelsey, Lidia, Maria P, Alicia O, Cristina K, Bethany J, Diane J, Kentiemac, Marni S, Betny T, Emily C, Cathy D, Lisa T, Libby C, Thiago, Taryn M, Dana B, Jamie S, Chuck C, Je_GL, Kaitlin, Susan P, Katertot, Mallory D, LFC_Hokie, Ella, Debbie, Megan F, Kay, Diane J, Julie B,, Austin K, Jane, Sarah, Amy, Stephen S, Johanna T, Alison S, Kristina T, Abigail W, Becky, Ola S, Jennifer K, Kate M, Claudia, Erin L, Sarah A, Kennedy B, Thomas B, Kihika N, Beth C, Amy, Renee PM, Ryan V, Brandon H, Tyler, Hayley B, Ben S, Kate & Landon, Danielle, ALittleUnderRotated, Dana C, Grace, Pat G , Lexi G, Laura N, Kathy, Katie A, Ruby B,, Róisín, Becca, Megan J, Emily D, Britton, Ry Shep, Reyna G, William A, MB, MJ L, Jackson G, Brittany A, Stella, Ulo F, Noah C, Melissa H, Alexis, William M, Trish, Susie, Leslie G, Catherine B, Karlin, Laura L, Katy S, J'nia G, Kathy M, Kathy S, Okcaro, Caroline P, JD B, Cookiecutter, Ailish D, Wil D, Caroline M, kcmojojojo, Sammy S, Fabio B, Kerry H, Ricardo A & Brandon!

We're excited to be joined by Charleigh Bullock, who recently became the junior national champion on the uneven bars and won five gold medals at the Junior Pan American Games.Despite being a junior, Charleigh has proven herself to be one of the top bar workers in the U.S. — her routine is among the most difficult being performed right now domestically. In fact, had she been competing in the senior division this year, she still would have taken home the bars title! She also won the bars title at every single domestic competition this year. Now, Rachel encourages women to pray naturally with God through whatever they face. Join hosts Elisa Morgan and Eryn Eddy Adkins as they learn how to pray naturally with Rachel during this God Hears Her conversation. Notes and Quotes: “I realized that God had taken me from all the things that distracted me from Him. He moved me across the Atlantic, and it was like He stood in front of me and said, ‘Rachel, would you now take notice of me?' I didn't see it as punishment; I saw it as love. Love that He cared so much about me that He would take me away from the things that kept me from Him.” —Rachel Britton “God knows what is going on in our minds and our hearts, and He honors that and He hears and He helps us. In those times spent with Him, that's when we grow in our faith, and He grows us so that those fears start to get less.” —Rachel Britton “He knows what we're thinking anyhow. He knows what's in our hearts anyhow, so we can bring it to Him, however it sounds.” —Rachel Britton “We have to hold onto those times when God has come through for us. If He's done it before, He'll do it again.” —Rachel Britton Verses: Exodus 2 - Moses being hidden as a baby Hebrews 11:23 Joshua 2 – Rahab hiding the spies Related Episodes: GHH Ep 6 – How We Hear from God with Eryn and Elisa: https://godhearsher.org/podcast/how-we-hear-from-god/ GHH Ep 86 – When We Pray Like Jesus with Elisa and Eryn: https://godhearsher.org/podcast/when-we-pray-like-jesus/ GHH Ep 99 – Conversations with God with Lori Hatcher: https://godhearsher.org/podcast/conversations-with-god/ Links: Rachel Britton's Website: https://rachelbritton.com/ Rachel's Book Pray Naturally: https://a.co/d/1PIIxNP Unshakable Moxie BOGO Deal: https://go.odb.org/bogo God Hears Her website: https://go.odb.org/ghh191 Subscribe to the God Hears Her YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@GodHearsHerODBM Share Your Story: https://godhearsher.org/share-your-story/ God Hears Her email sign-up: https://go.odb.org/ghh-sign-upsfmc191
