We're continuing Season 3 of our Recruit Reflection series with Anika Most, a rising sophomore and member of Kent State's 2025 regular season MAC championship team. Anika always dreamed of becoming a Division I gymnast, but her recruiting journey wasn't easy. She faced a lot of rejection early on because she was a bit behind skill-wise at the time. Still, she never gave up. She kept working hard in the gym, held down two jobs to pay for training, and stayed persistent with coaches — eventually finding her home at Kent State. Anika is living proof that hard work and determination really do pay off. We hope her story brings comfort and hope to future recruits navigating their own journeys.Thank you to our monthly Patreon supporters: Lee B, Cookiemaster, Christa, Happy Girl, Erica S, Semflam, Amy C, Maria L, Becca S, Cathleen R, Faith, Kerry M, M, Derek H, Martin, Sharon B, Randee B, MSU, Kimberly G, Robert H, Lela M, Mara L, Jenna A, Alex M, Mama T, Kelsey, Lidia, Maria P, Alicia O, Cristina K, Bethany J, Diane J, Kentiemac, Marni S, Betny T, Emily C, Cathy D, Lisa T, Libby C, Thiago, Taryn M, Dana B, Jamie S, Chuck C, Je_GL, Kaitlin, Susan P, Katertot, Mallory D, LFC_Hokie, Ella, Debbie, Megan F, Kay, Diane J, Julie B,, Austin K, Jane, Sarah, Amy, Stephen S, Johanna T, Alison S, Kristina T, Abigail W, Becky, Ola S, Jennifer K, Kate M, Naomi S, Claudia, Siona, Erin L, Sarah A, Kennedy B, Thomas B, Lauren D, Kihika N, Beth C, Amy, Renee PM, Ryan V, Brandon H, Tyler, Hayley B, Ben S, Kate & Landon, Danielle, ALittleUnderRotated, Dana C, Amy C, Grace, Pat G , Lexi G, Laura N, Kathy, Katie A, Ruby B, Katie E, Róisín, Becca, Megan J, Emily D, Britton, Ry Shep, Reyna G, Catherine, William A, MB, MJ L, Jackson G, Brittany A, Stella, Ulo F, Noah C, Melissa H, Alexis, William M, Trish, Susie, Leslie G, Catherine B, Karlin, Laura L, Katy S, J'nia G, Kathy M, Kathy S, Okcaro, Caroline P, JD B, Cookiecutter, Ailish D, Wil D& BC

A former baseball standout from one of Texas' top-ranked high schools, Britton made a bold pivot from the field to the stage in 2022. After an accomplished athletic career filled with championship victories and junior college play, he chose to follow his musical calling instead of pursuing sports scholarships. Music has always been in his blood. His father was a gospel singer before founding a church with Britton's mother, where Britton continues to develop his voice through worship as well as writing his own music. Though transitioning from teammate to solo artist has been an adjustment, he sees "The Voice" as the perfect opportunity to combine his love of mentorship and teamwork with his passion for music.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Dan and Tom are joined by Dr. Wesley Britton to decode the 1987 movie THE IMPOSSIBLE SPY. This movie tells the story of a real Israeli spy, Elie Cohen. Without a doubt, he was one of the most successful spies in history.  Is this movie worth a watch?  This episode has two sections.  First, we discuss with Dr. Wesley Britton some of the information about Elie's story and the making of the movie.  Then, we decode the movie in depth. Dr. Britton is the host of the online radio show and Podcast, “Flashback with Wes Britton” He has also written multiple books about spies in television, the movies, and real-life including Beyond Bond: Spies in Fiction and Film and Onscreen and Undercover: The Ultimate Book of Movie Espionage.  We have used both of these books in developing our podcasts. And, his website SpywiseSecretDossier.com is a treasure trove of information on spies. Elie Cohen's story is a compelling look at real-world spycraft and dealing with spying while at the same time having a wife and children. What we will decode in this episode These are the things we decode in our look at THE IMPOSSIBLE SPY: ·         Details on this great cast. ·         Some of the challenges executive producer Harvey Chertok and Director Jim Goddard encountered in getting this movie made ·         How Elie Cohen helped the Israelis with his spying ·         Some discrepancies between the movie and real life. ·         Some of the differences between this movie and the streaming series “The Spy” which also tells Elie's story ·         What is it like to be the wife of a spy? ·         And more! Tell us what you think about our decoding of THE IMPOSSIBLE SPY So, take a listen and let us know what you think. Have you heard of THE IMPOSSIBLE SPY before this episode? How about Elie Cohen? In times like these, when there's market volatility and financial insecurity, it's more important than ever to have a financial plan to know that you can weather the storm and wild swings in the markets. It's the difference between having a plan vs just having a portfolio. In today's episode, Derek Gregoire is joined by SHP Financial's Lead Advisor, Kyle Britton, to discuss how they're helping their clients navigate the emotions of investing during bear markets. While many people would assume that the phones are ringing off the hook with clients filled with panic, you'll hear why that might be the exception rather than the rule because of the methods SHP Financial uses to build comprehensive financial plans that help their clients prepare for these very moments. In this conversation, they discussed how SHP helps clients determine their risk score and how they stress test portfolios to demonstrate the outcomes of down years. They'll explain what sequence of returns risk means and how important it is for investors to understand it as they approach retirement. They'll also discuss how bear markets create opportunities for those who have time on their side to weather the storm and take full advantage when the recovery happens. In this podcast interview, you'll learn: What sequence of returns risk is and how SHP helps to calculate risk in your portfolio The benefits of using tools like Riskalyze to analyze the risk in your portfolio. How the news and media can make market volatility feel worse than it is by leaning on the chaos and negativity. The three bucket strategy that SHP uses to protect your annual income and long-term growth investments. How quickly market recoveries happen and the opportunities that bear markets can create. What do 314-mile foot races and viral ad campaigns have in common? In this episode of Furious Curious, Britton and Alex sit down with Andy Pearson — VP of Creative at Liquid Death — to unpack how ultra-endurance running informs high-level creative thinking, brand-building, and navigating chaos. From hallucinating gingerbread men during 100-mile races to directing absurdly brilliant ads for one of today's most unconventional brands, Andy reflects on why pushing limits physically helps sharpen creative instincts mentally. This episode explores the meditative power of movement, the cultural rise of ultrarunning, and the importance of playing more — even in a world obsessed with metrics. It's a lesson in how absurd ideas, when fully committed to, can change the game. LINKS:ievenwrotethissickurl.comliquiddeath.comFOLLOW:Linkedin.com/company/the-furious-curiousCREDITS:Filmed and edited by Yavor Vesselinov, with additional production by Weston Simpson and Johnny Matlack.
