After last season's historic performance, there was no way we couldn't have Shannon Welker on to preview the upcoming season for the Missouri Tigers.Last season, Mizzou finished third — the highest finish in program history — and reached several other milestones, including advancing to the evening session of the SEC Championships for the first time.The vibes are good heading into this season as the Tigers look to pick up where they left off and build on last year's success. Chloe earned four Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, the most in program history for Illinois. She also took home the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award at the end of the season, becoming only the third gymnast in program history to achieve that honor. We're excited to be joined by Charleigh Bullock, who recently became the junior national champion on the uneven bars and won five gold medals at the Junior Pan American Games.Despite being a junior, Charleigh has proven herself to be one of the top bar workers in the U.S. — her routine is among the most difficult being performed right now domestically. In fact, had she been competing in the senior division this year, she still would have taken home the bars title! She also won the bars title at every single domestic competition this year. This week Britton walks us through Philippians 1:12-30. We are given a simple formula as to what is worth living for and it is this. Living = ?, Dying = ?. We see that anything other than Christ is not worth searching for. Yet in Christ dying is gain because he is the source of all life. At Oaks, we live out in daily submission to Christ by sending disciplemakers of Jesus by being disciplemakers of Jesus.

This week Britton walks us through the first part of Philippians 1. We see that a mark of a disciple is true joy and that joy is only found in Christ alone. At Oaks, true joy is found as we do the Great Commission seeking to send disciplemakers of Jesus by being discplemakers of Jesus.

Guest Bio: Rachel Britton is a British-born author, speaker, and blogger. Her passion is to help women become comfortable and confident in their conversation with God. Rachel has lived in the United States since 1995. Her career began in newspaper and magazine publishing in London. She worked for BBC Worldwide before moving to the USA. Rachel is a contributing author in a number of traditionally published books, Guidepost publications, and online material with Bible Study Tools. Her most recent book, “Pray Naturally,” released January 7, 2025, with Our Daily Bread Publishing. Rachel is the creator and writer of an Amazon Alexa skill app—“Alexa, say a prayer”—which receives approximately 1,500 requests per day. Rachel holds a master's in religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is Director of reNEW ~ spiritual retreat for writers and speakers held annually in the northeast which she operates through her nonprofit organization, Rachel Britton Ministries. Rachel is married with three young adult children spread over too many time zones. She loves to escape to the mountains of Colorado to write, hike, and ski. Today we are joined by fan favorite Ondine Achampong, a World and European medalist for Great Britain who was a favorite to make the Paris Olympic team before an ACL injury took her out of contention just three months before the Games. Ondine shocked the gymnastics world last season when she worked her way into Cal's beam lineup around 10 months after tearing her ACL—an injury that takes most gymnasts at least a year to recover from. Today, we're excited to be joined by Jennifer Williams — an elite gymnast from Sweden, a 2025 European Beam and Floor finalist, and an incoming freshman at Stanford University.Unfortunately, just a few days after we recorded this interview, Jennifer partially ruptured her PCL, a ligament in her knee. As a result, her elite season has sadly come to an end, and her NCAA season is now uncertain, depending on how her recovery progresses. This obviously wasn't the way we planned to start the episode, but we wanted to share that important update, especially since the interview includes discussions about her goals and plans for the remainder of the season.That said, we're still thrilled to share this conversation with you.
