Darth Vader fights Palpatine and loses terribly. As Sidious knows he was trying to find more about Padme at her Tomb with Sabe, and knows of his loss of Luke Skywalker to the light side. Palpatine is displeased and summons Vader to the Jedi Temple (now the Imperial Palace). Here, he fights Vader, and destroys him. Taking Vader to Mustafar, Palpatine tells him to not use the force for his survival, and sends Ochi of Bestoon upon him, for the next Star Wars issue. Learn more about your ad choices. Greg, Tim, and, Jim break down Lando and Luke's buddy cop adventure, the most time we've ever gotten with Rey's parents, and heaps on heaps of magic daggers and Ochi of Bestoon (!!!!!!), plus so much more to love about Adam Christopher's Shadow of the Sith.
Jedi Master Luke Skywalker is haunted by visions of the dark side, foretelling an ominous secret growing on a dead world called Exegol. And Luke's worst fears are confirmed when his old friend, Lando Calrissian, comes to him with reports of a new Sith menace. Also, Ochi of Bestoon, a Sith assassin, is tasked with kidnapping a young girl named Rey. This story answers so many questions that arose from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. But was it best to do that in a novel? David and Hannah discuss Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith, written by Adam Christopher. For more Star Wars content visit insidetheforce.com. While I must confess I've not yet read the Star Wars novel Shadow of the Sith, I will absolutely read it as soon as I finish the massive tome that is Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace. In The Rise of Skywalker, Lando hints at an adventure he and Luke went on to find the Sith Eternal world of Exegol by following the assassin known as Ochi of Bestoon. That small hint at a larger story had me intrigued from the moment I heard it in the movie theater. Join me as I explain why this story has me so utterly fascinated. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

On this episode, Dominic, Ben, and Chris review the new Disney+ special Lego Star Wars: Terrifying Tales. They discuss what worked in the episode, as well as how it compares to last year's holiday special, and how it's weird that most of the sequel trilogy storytelling we're getting these days is in Lego form. Then they discuss the announcement of four new Star Wars novels coming out next year, including ones that tell the story of Anakin's knighthood and what happened with Luke, Lando, and Ochi of Bestoon. Plus, Lucy Lawless speculates about why she might not have been in Star Wars, Mena Massoud dances around an Ezra Bridger question, and exciting scene description from The Book of Boba Fett at the end of the podcast. All this and much more!

Anyway join us this week as we chat the latest Star Wars news, Ochi of Bestoon, the Vader comic answering and raising ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ questions, ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, Oscars, ‘The Last of Us Part 3’ being written and we begin our ‘Fast and Furious’ rewatch!
Exegol. Darth Vader makes his stand against Palpatine and the stakes couldn't be higher. Though we know how it all eventually will come to pass, that does nothing to deter from the fast-paced, dark-plumbed story that envelops madness, hubris and redemption in the pages of Darth Vader #11.In news, Andrew Winegarner has completed his fan adaption of the leaked script for "Duel of the Fates" (https://bit.ly/3xxVcH2) and it's a great read from start to finish.Upcoming Star Wars comics include:April 28_ Darth Vader #11_ The Empire Strikes Back — The 40th Anniversary Covers by Chris Sprouse #1May 5_ War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1_ War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 (Director’s Cut)_ The High Republic Adventures #4_ Guardian of the Whills: The MangaMay 12_ Star Wars #13_ The High Republic #5May 19_ Bounty Hunters #12May 26_ Darth Vader #12_ Doctor Aphra #10_ Star Wars Adventures: Weapon of a Jedi (1 of 2)_ Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Old Republic, Vol. 4June 2_ War of the Bounty Hunters #1_ The High Republic Adventures #5_ Star Wars Adventures #5June 9_ Bounty Hunters #13_ Star Wars Adventures #7_ Bounty Hunters, Vol. 2, “Target Valance” TPBJune 16_ Star Wars #14_ Star Wars Adventures #6June 23_ Darth Vader #13_ Star Wars Adventures #6_ Darth Vader (Vol. 3), Vol. 2, “Into the Fire” TPBJune 30_ Doctor Aphra #11_ The High Republic #6_ Star Wars Adventures: The Weapon of a Jedi #2 (of 2)July 7_ Bounty Hunters #14_ Star Wars Adventures #7_ Star Wars Legends: The Old Republic Omnibus Vol. 1July 14_ Doctor Aphra #12_ War of the Bounty Hunters #2_ The Phantom Menace Graphic Novel Adaptation from IDWJuly 21_ The High Republic Adventures #6_ Darth Vader #14_ War of the Bounty Hunters — Jabba the Hutt #1 (One-Shot)_ Star Wars Adventures #8July 28_ Star Wars #15_ The High Republic #7_ Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Marvel Years, Vol. 5 TPB_ Doctor Aphra (Vol. 2), Vol. 2, “The Engine Job” TPBAug. 4_ Star Wars Adventures #9Aug. 11_ The High Republic, Vol. 1, “There Is No Fear” TPBAug. 14_ Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Free Comic Book Day Issue_ The High Republic: The Edge of Balance/Guardians of the Whills FCBD IssueSept. 1_ Star Wars Adventures #10Sept. 8_ The High Republic: Edge of Balance MangaSept. 15_ Star Wars Adventures: Smuggler’s Run TPBSept. 29_ Star Wars Legends: Rise of the Sith Omnibus_ Star Wars Adventures (Vol. 2), “The Light & the Dark” TPBOct. 20_ Darth Vader (Vol. 2) OmnibusOct. 26_ Darth Vader (Vol. 3), Vol. 3 TPB (Collects #12-16)Oct. 27_ The High Republic Adventures, Vol. 1, TPBNov. 9_ War of the Bounty Hunters TPB (Collects Alpha #1, War of the Bounty Hunters 1-5)_ War of the Bounty Hunters Companion TBP (Collects Jabba, IG-88, Boussh, 4-LOM & Zuckuss)Nov. 16_ Star Wars (Vol. 3), Vol. 3 TPB (Collects #13-18)Nov. 23 _ Bounty Hunters, Vol. 3, TPB (Collectings #12-17)Nov. 30_ Star Wars: The High Republic, Vol. 2, TPB (Collects #6-10) _ Doctor Aphra (Vol. 2), Vol. 2, TPB (Collects #11-15)Dec. 7_ Attack of the Clones Graphic Novel Adaptation from IDW
In The Rise of Skywalker we learn that Lando and Luke had teamed up to find the location of the secret Sith world of Exegol. To this end, they followed Ochi of Bestoon across the galaxy because they knew he had a clue that could lead them to the Sith wayfinder that could point the way to the mysterious Sith capital. This got me to thinking: an adventure featuring Lando and Luke working together to find Sith artifacts would be really cool to see.
