This is a landmark episode. Best friend of the pod and long-awaited guest John Garcia joins Torie to unpack one of the most reviled installments of the 90s erotic thriller canon, BODY OF EVIDENCE (1993). It just might be the best bad movie you've ever seen. Starring the one, the only, the icon - Madonna - as a femme fatale firing on all cylinders, and Torie's boyfriend, Willem Dafoe, as her moronic lawyer, BODY OF EVIDENCE checks every single box of erotic thriller cliches and then some. Suspected murderess Rebecca Carlson (whose alleged weapons of choice are cocaine and f**king old men to death) enlists private defense attorney Frank to prove her innocence. Like a succubus on a bender, Rebecca lures Frank away from his marriage to Julianne Moore by introducing him to the pleasures of S&M, hot candle wax, and more. However, this film is a body of evidence in itself. Intentional or not, this opus of mediocrity exposed one of most storied and gatekept parts of male anatomy in all of Hollywood, Willem Dafoe's d**k. That in itself grants BODY OF EVIDENCE a place in the annals of film history. Get ready to go whale watching, because Willem's megalithic Dashow does not disappoint! — Make sure you tune into John's own movie podcast, Afterthoughts, at theafterpod.transistor.fm or anywhere you get your podcasts!

This is part 1 of a 3 part mini-series titled: Priming for disclosure and part 33 of the larger "Beyond Earth" mini seriesThis episode deals with the psychological reaction to UFO's and Aliens that people have. It deals with the preprogrammed reactions that often come with a form of denial, dismissal, or just plain fear of the unknown. It's about the knee-jerk reactions to this subject. It's best not to join a worldview already out there and stay neutral and nuanced with this one. We're talking about a subject that none of us really have the answer to. As governments and media have changed their tune about this, and now it's being put out there before us, along with the UFO files, it's best to look at all angles and take this serious, whether it's a fake UFO invasion or a mix of both.Show website:https://www.chantitdownradio.com/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmTlBzFViiv58N4_K9On0UQInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chantitdown/Telegram:https://t.me/chantitdownOdysee: https://odysee.com/@chantitdownradio:cRumble: https://rumble.com/user/ChantitdownradioPlease help support the show. This week on Afterthoughts, Jason and I discuss the murders of Angela Clay and her daughters, Latoya and Lakeisha. We talk about the warning signs that preceded the murders, the investigation that ultimately connected the case to Byron Lewis Black, and the piece of evidence that may have changed everything. We also discuss the decades of appeals that followed and what justice looked like for the Clay family more than 37 years later. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
On Sunday, May 31st 2026, Assistant Pastor Dillon Meadway's message centers on a profound truth: we are not afterthoughts in God's plan, but intentional creations designed with purpose from before the foundation of the world. Beginning with the resurrection account in Matthew 28, we explore how the empty tomb wasn't God's backup plan but the culmination of His eternal purpose. The sermon brilliantly establishes that our intrinsic value doesn't come from our achievements or even our need for redemption, but from being made in the image of our Creator. Before sin ever entered the picture, we already had worth. This reframes everything about why God pursues us—not because we're broken projects He feels obligated to fix, but because we were precious before we ever fell. The resurrection becomes the ultimate proof of this intentionality, with hundreds of witnesses, fulfilled prophecies that no human could manipulate, and disciples willing to die for what they saw. We're challenged to see resurrection woven throughout all of Scripture—from the promise in Eden, to Abraham and Isaac, to Noah's new world, to Israel's deliverance from Egypt. Every feast, every pattern pointed forward to the day when death would be defeated. This isn't just ancient history; it's deeply personal. When we feel forgotten, overlooked, or like mistakes, this message reminds us that God never stopped thinking about us, just as He never forgot Joseph in the pit, in slavery, or in prison.
Join the Afterthoughts crew as we take a trippy, philosophical, animated journey through time from Adam and Eve to space robots and back again. Marcell Jankovics' ambitious epic twenty-three years in the making tells the story of man's doomed, repeated attempts to attain meaning and immortality in the face of Lucifer's cunning sabotage. I bet you've never seen anything quite like this.

Send us Fan MailYou ever hit a point where the jokes stop landing because you can feel the hole underneath them? That's where we start, with a messy cold open that turns into something more honest: why chasing a “whole phase” is really a sign you want to be whole, and why healing feels corny online but still has to be done in real life.We also get into the grind of independent podcasting and content creation, especially the trap of becoming a reactor. When your “voice” is just a response to other people's topics, you lose control of the conversation and you start building your platform around somebody else's agenda. We talk about authenticity, creative slumps, and the real danger of tying your livelihood to your mic, because once dollars replace ears, the message gets corrupted fast. From there, we widen the lens to community building, wealth, and responsibility. We question what it looks like when institutions extract from the Black community without returning real investment, and why “making it” is not enough if you never bring it back. We touch social media reality, VIP culture, celebrity politics, and why endorsements are not expertise, then close with nuance on voting, abstaining, and how power actually gets leveraged when people feel disenfranchised. If any of this hits, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more people find the conversation. Send us Fan MailYou can feel the difference between noise and reflection, and we're choosing reflection today. We start with the real stuff: how we're building these afterthoughts, what a packed weekend reveals when you reconnect with people who knew you before life got complicated, and why your roots are not a cliché they're a foundation. Old memories surface, and we use them as information for growth, not as excuses, because a real healing journey means owning your patterns and tightening up how you live. Then we pivot into the language we throw around online and at work. We talk overstimulation, spring break culture, and the way small social rules can flatten human nature. The big focus is mental health vocabulary: boundaries, gaslighting, narcissist, triggered, toxic. We break down what these therapy terms actually mean, how they get misused, and why accountability matters more than a label. If you want healthier relationships, you can't outsource your triggers or use “boundaries” as a way to control people. We also go political without playing team sports. From local meetings to national narratives, we challenge why candidates talk big issues but skip the needs of the community right in front of them. We question why lawyers so often become lawmakers, unpack how division keeps regular people fighting sideways, and land on a practical idea: stop waiting for anything to trickle down and start building across, down, and up with your neighbors. We close with celebrity worship, forced opinions, and why face-to-face conversation still matters. If this hits, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a review with the one topic you want us to go deeper on next.Support the show

Send a textA solo mic can expose everything: nerves, fidgeting, and the raw version of you that doesn't fit the polished “one world” script. We start there and build into a bigger point I can't shake, normalize your individuality. The more society pushes one acceptable voice, one acceptable opinion, and one acceptable personality, the easier it is to become a walking uniform. I talk about why certain spaces like warehouse culture feel more honest, why “politically correct” changes by environment, and how being yourself is still possible even when you have to play a role for work or survival. Then we move into heavier territory: race, racism in America, and why I've had to rethink the whole conversation through lived experience and simple logic. I'm not interested in judging people by vibes or assumed thoughts. I'm interested in actions, outcomes, power, and incentives. That leads to a taboo but necessary thread: racism can be real and still function like a distraction that keeps working people divided while money and power stay protected. If you've ever felt like the loudest arguments never touch the real root problem, this part will hit.We also get personal about healing after separation, reclaiming music without pain, and what it means to grow without becoming judgmental or disconnected from where you came from. The episode closes with a blunt reset on ambition: the goal isn't to get rich, it's to get free. Monoliths are carved stone into smooth canals, strange seats and more. The megalith builders seemed to have built on top of these works, suggesting an earlier worldwide culture built these before the popular megaliths we know about. These are built on Huacas, which are energy spots. We also get into the elongated skull people, Earth genetics and navigating this matrix they want us stuck in.You can find Camille's work here: https://sorcerersofstone.comShow website:https://www.chantitdownradio.com/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmTlBzFViiv58N4_K9On0UQInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chantitdown/Telegram:https://t.me/chantitdownOdysee: https://odysee.com/@chantitdownradio:cRumble: https://rumble.com/user/ChantitdownradioPlease help support the show. Send a textEver had love feel like a lifeline—then watched it change once your life filled with hope again? We dig into how connection can blossom when you're at your lowest and why it sometimes struggles to breathe when the air finally clears. It's a candid look at Valentine's expectations, the comfort we mistake for commitment, and the work it takes to grow from survival bonding into durable partnership. We also pull apart the Super Bowl halftime uproar to see what's real and what's revenue. The NFL optimizes for eyeballs; outrage often does the same. We talk cultural dance without panic, how to explain it to kids with context, and why not every stage needs a grand statement to matter. Activism is powerful when it's chosen and sharp; it blurs when it's required by default. That nuance extends to the mic itself. If you can shape minds, you're a steward, not just a performer, and being honest about your own contradictions is part of earning trust. The conversation turns sober and practical on domestic violence. Condemnation is the baseline; prevention, accountability, and reform are the work. We explore de-escalation, boundaries, and how to acknowledge complex dynamics without excusing harm. Real change blends consequences with tools—therapy, groups, and communities that help people unlearn what hurt taught them. If you've ever wondered how love survives the return of hope, how culture becomes controversy, or how creators should carry a platform, this one meets you where you are and leaves you with more to think about—and to do.If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review to tell us what part challenged you most. In this Afterthoughts conversation, we talk through what stayed with us after telling Carmen Sanders' story. We reflect on the details that mattered most, the warning signs that were easy to miss in real time, and how proximity and familiarity played a role in what happened. This isn't a rehash of the case. It's a space to sit with the unanswered emotional weight, the choices Carmen was preparing to make, and the larger questions her story raises about access, trust, and safety especially when danger doesn't come from the outside.
