Listen to the message Take Courage by Ptr. Gaby Faria.
Acts 21:17 - 23:11 Facing false accusations, violent opposition, and unjust trials, Paul models flexibility for fellowship, a faithful defence, and fearless courage in Christ.
Send us a textActs 23:7-11And when he had said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all. Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?” And when the dissension became violent, the tribune, afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him away from among them by force and bring him into the barracks. The following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Take courage, for as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must testify also in RomeSupport the show

Send us a textIn order to be able to follow Jesus' example we need to learn to take courage.Jesus was always prepared to do the courageous things, standing up against the religious systems of his day, reaching out to those who were outcast in society, choosing an unorthodox group of people to be on his team.Today we look at how we can be courageous in the way we live our lives and the people that we choose to connect with.Feel free to listen in x
Talk Back to MeThe first six months of 2025 have displayed a roller coaster of events, many of which presented as catastrophes, or great victories depending on political affiliation. At the same time, the Gun Culture has witnessed the end of an era, where names that once led companies and held the attention of millions slip away in disgrace. Not all kingdoms are built to last. Whether it's Military action in Iran, or Riots in LA, or Parliamentarians getting in the way of a long awaited curbing of the NFA, it's easy to look at what we're up against and throw up one's hands in lament. But that is not the path. Did we expect it to be so easy as an election? Did we expect that, with every step forward we would face less and less opposition? This isn't a problem that can be solved in the mind alone. Having the right answers is just the first step, one that must be followed with Courage. Title: Take Courage in this LifeSpeaker: Paul SylvesterEvent: Sunday MorningDate: 06-08-25Bible Passage: Acts 23:13-31https://www.fbcphoenix.org/
When last we met, Paul the Apostle was on a boat heading for Rome. But the boat ran into a massive storm called a "nor'easter". The ship was trying to sail west...but those ferocious winds pummeled that big ol' ship and forced it south into open seas. The ship was being pounded and was beginning to sink. People were scared and had lost all hope, but God was still in control, and he had already chosen a leader to take control. The name of that leader was Paul the Apostle.
Even when our best efforts to obey Jesus lead to failure and hardship, He is present with us, working out His purposes, and calling us to take courage and not give up

This message reminds us that God is always working — even when things feel broken, hopeless, or stuck. Through the story of Nehemiah and the rebuilding of Jerusalem's walls, we're challenged to see how God keeps His promises, reverses what seems lost, and restores what's been broken. But the real work isn't just about walls — it's about hearts. Whether you're feeling stuck in waiting, wrestling with fear, or realizing the ways you've drifted, this sermon encourages us to come back to Jesus — the One who restores and redeems.
The Body must find courage to step into all that God is doing. In this message, Gabe Valenzuela reminds us that courage isn't a personality trait but is something to cultivate. As the Lord moves, He's inviting us to move with Him. Sometimes that means reaching when it feels easier to retreat, or choosing faith despite your fears. This is a call to rise—not in our own strength, but in deep dependence on the One who goes before us. May this message awaken fresh faith and stir holy courage for all that is on the horizon.

The fear of others often undermines our ability to follow Jesus courageously. We need courage to follow Jesus in calling out religious hypocrisy (within our own hearts and in bigger systems); we need courage to cause good trouble; and we need courage to persevere. But we don't muster this courage on our own; courage is rooted in God's presence and God's purpose.

Send us a textToday on The Bookshelf Odyssey Podcast, I sit down with fantasy author M.T. Solomon to discuss her latest release, "Liar Queen" – the exciting first book in an all-new fantasy trilogy! At the beginning of the episode I also give a quick update on my podcast, this channel, and life in general. We then explore her writing journey—from her dreams of being a writer that began as a young child, to an adult making that dream a reality. She opens up about the joys and challenges of writing, finding inspiration from the world around you, and the pros and cons of traditional vs. indie publishing - and how that led her to become the first author to be published by Golden Scales Publishing! This week, Pastor Jeremy continues our series in Acts with this sermon from Acts 22 & 23. He shares that without courage we will not be able to stand firm in a fallen world . . . and that being clever doesn't hurt!
Pastor Daniel shares on the necessity of courage to embrace the new, illustrating through biblical examples—such as the feeding of the 5,000, Peter launching into the deep, and Gideon's transformation—how faith in God's provision, willingness to let go of the old, and trust in His timing lead to spiritual growth, divine encounters, and miraculous breakthroughs.
Welcome to Generation Church! Life can feel like an endless battle against the wind and waves—struggles we didn't ask for, storms we never saw coming. Maybe you've wondered, Why would God allow this? Maybe you've tried to fight your way through on your own, paddling harder, grasping for control, questioning if Jesus even sees you.But what if the storm isn't proof of His absence, but the very place He's revealing His power? In Mark 6, the disciples find themselves in deep trouble—rowing hard, making no progress, exhausted, afraid. Then Jesus comes through the storm to meet them. He doesn't calm the waves first—He walks on them. He doesn't wait for their fear to subside—He speaks into it: Take courage! I am here!Step into this story and see that Jesus is more than enough in the storm. More than enough for our fear, our striving, our need. The very winds that threaten to sink us might just be the stage for Him to show us who He really is.+ + + + +Hey, while you're here, please help Generation by clicking the 'Subscribe' button, then click on the BELL (on mobile devices, also click 'ALL'). Read Online“Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!” Mark 6:50Fear is one of the most paralyzing and painful experiences in life. There are many things we can fear, but most often, the cause of our fear is the evil one trying to deter us from faith and hope in Christ Jesus. This line above is taken from the story of Jesus walking on the water toward the Apostles during the fourth watch of the night as they were rowing against the wind and being tossed by the waves. When they saw Jesus walking on the water, they were terrified. But when Jesus spoke to them and got into the boat, the wind immediately died down, and the Apostles remained there “completely astounded.” The boat on the stormy sea has traditionally been understood to represent our journey through this life. There are countless ways that the evil one, the flesh and the world fight against us. In this story, Jesus sees their trouble from the shore and walks toward them to come to their aid. His reason for walking towards them is His compassionate Heart.Often in times of fear in life, we lose sight of Jesus. We turn in on ourselves and focus on the cause of our fear. But our goal must be to turn from the cause of fear in life and look for Jesus Who is always compassionate and is always walking toward us in the midst of our fear and struggle.Reflect, today, upon whatever it is that causes you the most fear and anxiety in life. What is it that leads you to interior confusion and struggle? Once you identify the source, turn your eyes from that to our Lord. See Him walking toward you in the midst of whatever you struggle with, saying to you, “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!”Lord, once again I turn to Your most compassionate Heart. Help me to lift my eyes toward You and to turn away from the sources of my anxiety and fear in life. Fill me with faith and hope in You and give me the courage I need to put all my trust in You. Jesus, I trust in You.Source of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2024 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved.
