Watch on Philo! - Philo.tv/DTH *Producer note: a listener has explained to me how PO boxes work* A woman walks into a bar as Oliver narrates over the scene. We see that she ends up in the background of a selfie while she's walking around. She sits at the bar, writes a letter, and puts a stamp on it. When she notices the cops looking around, she quickly leaves, causing the letter to fall to the floor and get kicked under the bar. Fast forward five years: the gang is at brunch. Ramon brings them a letter he found under the bar — it turns out this brunch spot and the nightclub from five years ago are one and the same. They can't make anything out from the outside of the letter, so they open it. Unfortunately, the letter couldn't be less helpful — it's even signed "Me," almost as if it's written in code. We also find out that Shane and Rita are both pregnant! Yippie! Oliver and Shane go to tell Oliver's dad that they're expecting. Oliver is also working with his dad to open a postal museum. While going through the attic, Oliver's dad finds a box labeled "For Oliver Someday" and quickly tries to hide it. The next day, they're back at the office when Charley reads the letter and immediately realizes that the author is talking about the now-famous artist Nate Hallaway. Shane looks him up and sees he's playing a gig in Vegas. ROAD TRIP! Oliver and Shane go to a doctor's appointment, and everything is looking good with the baby. However, Oliver realizes he knows very little about his family history. He goes to talk to his dad, who then gives him the "For Oliver Someday" box. Meanwhile, the gang makes it to the Vegas show. At first, Nate acts like he doesn't know what they're talking about. But after the show, he admits the truth: the letter is from a woman named Tracy Rio. She wrote his best songs. That night, she had suddenly disappeared without telling him why. Since then, she has been sending him songs and he sends money via a P.O. box every month. The team stakes out the P.O. box until someone matching Tracy's description shows up. They follow her and discover that she's now a caregiver. She invites them in and shares her story: she's been on the run ever since her dad robbed a bank when she was a child. Her whole family has been "wanted" ever since. When she turned 18, her mom gave her money and stamps, and they communicated through a postal box. After that fateful night, she assumed the box no longer worked and never wrote again. She asks the team to find her mom and tell her she's okay. While working on this, Oliver reads through the letters his dad kept and begins to question why his dad held onto them all these years. As he's processing all of this, Oliver tracks Tracy's mom to a nearby church. He delivers Tracy's letter and tells her he must report her to the police. However, he finds out she has another daughter who will turn 18 in six weeks, so he agrees to give her that time before reporting her. Oliver and his dad have a heart-to-heart about fatherhood and reconcile. Six weeks later, it's time for the gala to raise money for the postal museum. Tracy — whose real name is Lilly — shows up, and her mom is there too. Lilly goes on stage to sing. Meanwhile, Oliver tells her mom that it's time: the feds are waiting. She turns herself in, and Oliver reunites Lilly and Nate backstage. The movie ends with the gang hanging out, drinking Yoo-hoo, and Rita finding out that the baby they're adopting was just born — so they rush off together.

Dr. Tito Sotolongo's sermon teaches that our identity should be based on faith in Jesus, not our actions or comparisons with others. He explains that Abraham's circumcision was a sign of his faith-based righteousness, illustrating that salvation comes from belief, not behavior. This grace is available to all, and believers are encouraged to obey God out of gratitude, not obligation, embracing their identity as God's children free from performance pressure.

We're talking about Postmark Center of the Arts, obviously, and it has so many amazing events and programs on the horizon that we just had to invite Arts Supervisor Allison Hyde on the show to yap it up. She shared some insights into how a class is made, what's coming up for creators of all shapes and sizes, and what's going on with the second phase of the Postmark Project (hint: it rhymes with masement). All Saints' Day is the day we Christians remember those who have passed from this world into their eternal rest, having confessed Christ as their Savior. An old hymn refrain sings, "How I want to be in that number." But "want" seems to imply that there might be some doubt that you will be numbered with the saints. Scripture offers you tokens to claim when doubt enters in so that you know that you definitely will be numbered with the saints. Listen.

Starting back in DM Dave's Curse of Strahd campaign, we began to develop characters and backstories with narrative side quests via text, email, and online documents (like Google Docs). In our Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen campaign, we have utilized them from the very beginning for each character individually, as well as the whole party, to further flesh out the characters, world, and story. In this episode, Tony, Chris, and Dave discuss their strategies for running narrative side quests outside the game as well as completely text-based campaigns.Episode 358 of Dragon Talk.DM Tony's article on running narrative side quests outside the game.3:08 What do we mean when we're talking about a narrative side quest?4:55 Our most recent use of narrative side quests in our Dragonlance campaign.7:25 There must be an active give and take for narrative side quests and campaigns to work.13:00 DM Chris' Days of Future Past text-based Marvel Super Heroes campaign.14:35 Narrative side quests for individual characters are a time to build out backstory and character, not for leveling and gaining experience.16:48 DM Chris literally “Squirrels”!20:12 Narrative, or “Descriptive”, side quests. Here's a synopsis of the ideas and insights we discussed on our podcast. If you haven't tuned in yet, we'd love for you to join us and become a part of the conversation! What We Liked Norman's Character Development: We absolutely adored seeing Norman step up as the marital mentor to Oliver. His growth throughout the series has been remarkable, and his easy and sincere advice made those scenes shine. Normalization of Therapy: Both of us appreciated how the movie normalized therapy for healthy relationships. The depiction of Shane, Oliver, Rita, and Norman going through therapy sessions made it clear that seeking help is a healthy and necessary step for any relationship. Sweet, Small Moments: Several little moments made us smile—from Norman's adorable comment about the sonogram picture to Shane and Oliver's flirty interaction post-honeymoon. These touches gave the film warmth and humor. What We Wished For Character Consistency: There were a few moments that felt out of character, especially Oliver's unempathetic interaction with Charlie. It seemed like an entirely different writer had come in an...

About "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled" The Vows We Have Made originally premiered on October 17, 2021. Linda-Lisa Hayter directed “The Vows We Have Made.” Hayter currently has 14 directing credits and is known for movies like “Cranberry Christmas,” “Unexpected Grace,” the most recent SSD: “A Tale of Three Letters.” She will also direct the upcoming SSD: “To the Moon and Back.” Hayter was also a 2022 Leo Award Nominee for Best Direction in a Television Movie. The script was written by Martha Williamson. All of our regulars return, including Gregory Harrison as Joe, Zak Santiago as Ramon, Jill Morrison as Hazel. Rhiannon Fish makes her SSD debut as Charley. Fish has 27 acting credits and most recently returned as Charley in “The Tale of Three Letters.” Sherry Miller plays Shane's mom Sharon. Miller has a whopping 98 acting credits and is known for Hallmark projects like “Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe” and “Family History Mysteries: Buried Past.” She will appear in “Hot Frosty” coming to Netflix this winter starring Lacey Chabert. Jude Wilson plays teenage Owen. He has 23 acting credits and has appeared in Hallmark movies like “In Merry Measure” and “Campfire Christmas.” Carol Burnett, Valerie Harper, and Marion Ross all appear via archived footage. Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made" What We Loved about SSD: "The Vows We Have Made" We were incredibly impressed with this movie. Let's talk about the things that warmed our hearts: Beautifully Written Dialogue: The movie was wonderfully written, with many profound lines like "trust the timing" and poignant themes about holding on and letting go. Humor Amidst Tears: Even though the last 20 minutes were packed with tear-jerking moments, there were great light-hearted instances that provided the perfect balance. Character Development: Seeing characters like Sharon, Shane's mom, evolve was a joy. Her relationship with Oliver was emotionally compelling, especially when she offers to be the mother he deserved. Creative Problem-Solving: Martha Williamson's writing shines as Rita and Norman decide to help Charlie, a young mother. Instead of adopting her baby, they invite her to live with them. It's an unconventional but touching solution. Flashbacks: The flashbacks to previous episodes were not just nostalgic but added depth to the overall narrative, making this feel like a fitting wrap-up to the series. What We Wished For While we loved most of the movie, there were a couple of things we wished were different: Rita, Norman, and Charlie Triangle: The timeline here was a bit confusing. How long have Rita and Norman been trying to have a baby? And the idea of them taking in Charlie and her baby seemed rushed and unconventional. Shane's Sister: Shane's sister, who had a big part in a previous movie, didn't make an appearance, not even a mention.

About "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled" Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled was directed by Kevin Fair. Martha Williamson wrote the script. Eric Mabius (Oliver O'Toole) Kristin Booth (Shane) Crystal Lowe (Rita) Geoff Gustafson (Norman) Many of our favorite supporting characters return in this movie: Gregory Harrison as Joe O'Toole, Barry Bostwick as Rita's dad Bill, Zak Santiago as Ramon, Carol Burnett as Ardis, Jill Morrison as Hazel, Keb Mo as Gabe.  Janet Kidder plays Annaliese. Janet has 72 acting credits which includes "Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas" and "Christmas for Keeps" for Hallmark. She was also in "The Man in the High Castle" and "Star Trek Discovery." Jessica Sipos plays daughter Jessica. Jessica has 24 acting credits. This was her first appearance on Hallmark having previously appeared on UnREAL. For Hallmark she has also been in "Chesapeake Shores," "A Season for Family," and "Betty's Bad Luck in Love." Barbara Wallace plays wedding dress designed Evelyn. Barbara has 48 acting credits as well as 70 stage credits. For Hallmark she has also recently appeared in "To All a Good Night," "The Cases of Mystery Lane," and "The Christmas Contest."  Watch the Trailer for "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" Our Thoughts on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Altar" What We Loved There was so much to love about 'To the Altar' that it's hard to know where to start! Firstly, we adored the chemistry between the main characters—particularly the friendship between Norman and Oliver. Those tuxedo scenes? Pure gold. Oliver's tender moment of buttoning up Shane's wedding dress was a beautiful touch. Nice directing from Kevin Fair on that one! Norman's horror-stricken face at his bachelor party when he saw the cake was hilarious. And let's not forget Oliver's freakout about shrimp sauce at the same event! On the emotional front, the portrayal of Annalise and Jessica's reunion struck a chord. Writer Martha Williamson tackled the complicated issues of mental health and homelessness with such grace and nuance; it left us in tears. The connection between Rita's loss and Jessica's reconnection with Annalise was a poignant example of beautifully woven storytelling. And who could overlook Keb Mo's soulful singing? Hearing him perform just elevated our viewing experience. Finally, the proposal scene between Shane and Oliver was everything we hoped for. Seeing Oliver wear the tie was a moment that had us gasping and reaching for tissues. What We Wished For Even in Hallmark heaven, there are a few things that could have used a bit of tweaking. First on our wish list is more closure for Colleen Camp's character, Sonny. Her sudden spelunking accident felt abrupt and left us wanting more context. While we learned from various sources that there were off-screen issues that might have led to this plot choice, the transition was jarring. Speaking of specifics, cave diving or "spelunking" as the cause of death seemed unusually dark for Hallmark standards.
