Coming in at #16 is the Bandolero Firecracker by Selected Tobacco. The Firecracker Series started out in 2007 as the brainchild of Two Guys Smoke Shop owner Dave Garofalo. It's a series where he would work with leading manufacturers to produce a small 3 1/2 inch cigar with a long-fuse resembling a Firecracker. In recent years, the Firecracker Series has moved over to United Cigars and now is available for a national limited release to authorized retailers. In 2022, the Bandolero Firecracker was introduced. Bandolero is a brand under Nelson Alfonso's Selected Tobacco. While United Cigars has been distributed Selected Tobacco for almost a decade, this still marks the first Firecracker installment done with Selected Tobacco. The blend for the Bandolero Firecracker is derived from the Clandestino line (Serie C) that uses filler leaves from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and undisclosed tobaccos. The Bandolero Firecracker features an Ecuadorian binder and a dark Ecuadorian wrapper that is typically used on the Aventureros line (Serie A). The Firecracker itself measures 3 1/2 x 50. Production comes from Tabacos de Costa Rica located in Costa Rica. The Bandolero Firecracker delivers notes of natural tobacco, earth, cedar, hay, and black pepper. This will be a cigar that delivers a medium-strength, medium-bodied smoking experience. The flavors aren't necessarily the most flashy or exotic flavors, but they complement each other extremely well. One important note, if sometimes a Firecracker is too short in terms of smoking duration, the Bandolero Firecracker is a slow burn that can provide about an hour for the smoking experience. For Selected Tobacco, this marks the first year and first time the company has secured a spot on a Cigar Coop Countdown. It's also the first time on the 2022 Countdown that Costa Rica has placed a cigar. This is the fifth country overall to land on the Countdown. if you are keeping score at home, we've reached the halfway point and have unveiled 15 cigars thus far from 14 different companies and 14 different factories. Ever wonder how you can beat your competitors? What is their secret to selling? Well, we have someone who can answer these tough questions this week. Today we have Dave Garofalo, President of Two Guys Smoke Shop. Dave discusses with Casey Cheshire how to make sure you make your customer's experience as great as possible. Dave gives us his tips and tricks on how to secret shop your competitors. Tune in to this fantastic episode. Busted Myths: You cannot compete against online giants. Takeaways: You have to remember that someone is selling what product you have for a less price. Try to rethink your cost options to beat out the competition. Make sure you make your customer's experience as great as possible. You want them to come back every time they need more. Secret shop your competitors. See why the customer wants to continue buying from you rather than your competitor. If you are an owner of a company, have meetings with your staff members and talk to them about ideas to make the business better. Be open to helping your customers every step of the way. Being there for your customers will gain trust and a permanent buyer. Promoting your business is important. Without promotions, social media posts, or emails your customers will forget your company. Be consistent with your promotions. Quote of the Show: “You sell more, you make more, and you make the customer happy.” (13:46) Links: Twitter: https://twitter.com/cigarspotlight LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-garofalo-b6ababa/ Website: https://www.2guyscigars.com/ Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/cz/podcast/two-guys-smoke-shop-36th-anniversary-party-recap/id413869893?i=1000535867289 Book: https://www.amazon.com/David-Goliath-Line-Promotions-Retailers/dp/1543966373 Ways to Tune In: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-hard-corps-marketing-show/id1338838763 Amazon Music/Audible: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/37228621-2f9c-4905-a223-1844effb49dd Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1vVLpNI1LssMTiL6Kdsamn Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-hard-corps-marketing-show Google Podcasts: https://play.google.com/music/m/Im7mytmu2wa2mekhoeixlja5hpe?t=The_Hard_Corps_Marketing_Show YouTube: https://youtu.be/zusD4SR-hE4

Coming in at #3 is the 2020 edition of Perdomo Firecracker. This is a cigar that is a part of United Cigars' Firecracker Series. The Firecracker Series started out as the brain-child of Two Guys Smoke Shop owner Dave Garofalo. It's a series where he would work with leading manufacturers to produce a small 3 1/2 inch cigar with a long-fuse resembling a Firecracker. Before you ask why a shop-exclusive is on the Countdown, this is not the case. In recent years, the Firecracker Series has moved over to United Cigars and now is available for a national limited release to authorized retailers. The Perdomo Firecracker feature 100% Nicaraguan tobaccos. The wrapper from the Firecracker is the one that is featured on the Perdomo 20th Anniversary Sun Grown. The cigar is a 3 1/2 x 50 vitola - easily the smallest cigar to land a Cigar Coop Countdown. The 2020 edition features the long fuse tucked under the cigar band. There was also a 2021 edition which didn't have the fuse tucked under the band. The Perdomo Firecracker might be small, but there is a ton of complexity loaded in this cigar. The cigar delivers notes of earth, nut, grapefruit, natural tobacco, coffee bean, wood, and black pepper. This is also a bold little cigar - delivering strength and body in the medium to full range. This is the second year in a row Perdomo Cigars has landed on the Countdown. This is also the third cigar Perdomo Cigar and third cigar from Tabacalera Perdomo to land on the 2021 Countdown. It's also the second cigar for United Cigars on the Countdown. Nicaragua continues to dominate the 2021 Countdown. Of the 28 cigars unveiled thus far on the 2021 Countdown, this is the 21st one from Nicaragua. For details of the 2021 Cigar of the Year Countdown, see our 2021 criteria: https://cigar-coop.com/2021/12/announcement-criteria-for-the-2021-cigar-of-the-year-countdown.html Cigar Coop Report: https://wp.me/p6h1n1-lOm
