A new peer-reviewed study of nationwide German data finds suspected adverse-event reports for COVID-19 vaccines were sharply elevated in the earliest weeks of rollout, then fell suddenly. The authors call it a possible batch-dependent safety signal. Danish physician Dr. Vibeke Manniche, the study's lead author and the only Danish doctor to speak out publicly against lockdowns from the start, joins to break down the findings. Published in the International Journal of Risk & Safety in Medicine, the analysis covers the first three and a half years of Germany's vaccination campaign. For one product, early-rollout reporting rates were roughly 80 times higher than the rates seen just weeks later. Welcome back to another episode of The Bourbon Road! After a brief hiatus, the man, the myth, the legend—Jim Shannon—is officially back in the host chair. Jim recently returned from a trip to Florida, where he experienced the wild swings of winter weather, going from 80 degrees down to 35. Of course, Kentucky wasn't about to be outdone, greeting him with 70-degree days followed immediately by threats of snow and heavy rains. As Jim and Todd Ritter settle back into the Bourbon Road bar, they take a moment to reflect on the crazy weather and look back at the anniversary of the historic Frankfort floods, thankful that the waterfront survived mostly intact this year. But enough about the weather—it is time to drink some incredible whiskey. For this highly anticipated review episode, the guys are diving into something truly special: the brand-new King of Kentucky Small Batch releases from Brown-Forman. If you follow the brand, you know that King of Kentucky is historically known for its ultra-rare, high-proof single barrel releases. However, the team at Brown-Forman found themselves with around 100 barrels that had incredibly low yields—some containing only 20 to 30 bottles worth of liquid due to heavy evaporation. Rather than release them individually, they decided to batch them together. This special release was created in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. These small batches feature bourbon aged between 12 and 18 years, and surprisingly, they utilize a slightly different mash bill than the standard releases: 75% corn, 15% rye, and 10% malted barley. Bottled in 700mL formats with an MSRP of $299, these are still incredibly hard to find. Fortunately, Todd and Jim were lucky enough to get their hands on samples of all three batches thanks to their good friend John Peetz (aka Top Dog), whom they recently joined for an excellent barrel pick at Bluegrass Distilling. On the Tasting Mat: King of Kentucky Small Batch 1: Coming in at 105 proof, this first batch sets the stage with a classic, robust Brown-Forman nose full of cherry pie crust, toasted coconut, and vanilla. However, the palate takes a sharp turn into an incredibly dry and tannic profile. Lacking any real sweetness, it delivers bitter dark cacao, leather, and heavy oak tannins that linger on the back of the palate for a remarkably long finish. It is a complex, dry pour that demands your attention and pairs perfectly with a dark Maduro cigar. King of Kentucky Small Batch 2: Stepping up to 107.5 proof, Batch 2 shifts away from the dry tannins of the first pour and moves into darker, spicier territory. The nose is rich with dark fruits like dates, figs, and dried palm fruits. On the palate, it brings a leathery tobacco bite accompanied by a sizzling cinnamon and black pepper spice that dances across the tongue. It retains a dry character but balances the heavy oak with a fantastic, mouth-watering sizzle. King of Kentucky Small Batch 3: The heaviest hitter of the trio clocks in at 110 proof. This batch brings a completely different energy, opening with a bright, fresh nose of rich chocolate, citrusy lemon, and a distinct Coca-Cola note. The palate introduces a "faux sweetness"—a luscious cherry cola syrup flavor that perfectly masks the high proof while delivering a spicy, full-mouth tingle that coats the entire tongue beautifully. After sipping through the three official batches, Todd flexes his "Blendageddon" skills for the final pour of the night. By combining equal parts of Batch 1, Batch 2, and Batch 3, Todd creates a custom "Batch 4" that sits right around 107.5 proof. The guys evaluate this impromptu blend to see if combining the dry tannins, the dark fruit spice, and the sweet cherry cola notes results in a masterpiece that rivals the individual batches. Roger Rosmus, Founder, CEO, & Director of Goliath Resources (TSX.V: GOT) (OTCQB: GOTRF), joins me to review the most recent batches of high-grade gold drill assay results reported over the last month from the 64,000 meter 9-rig 2025 drill program; at the Surebet Discovery on its 100% controlled Golddigger Property, located in the Golden Triangle, British Columbia.   Select highlights outlined in the news released on December 2nd:   Headline drill hole # GD-25-383 intersected 7.28 g/t Au over 8.00 meters, within 5.85 g/t Au over 10.00 meters in the Eocene-aged Reduced Intrusion Related Gold (RIRG) dyke that remains open. Drill hole # GD-25-311 intersected two gold-rich veins, including 15.13 g/t Au over 3 meters from a section of quartz-sulphide veining with multiple occurrences of VG-NE corresponding to the Bonanza Zone that remains open. Drill hole # GD-25-370 intersected three gold-rich veins in the Bonanza Zone that remains open assayed up to 5.66 g/t Au over 5.05 meters, including 9.24 g/t Au over 3.05 meters from a zone of strong quartz sulphide veining and breccia with numerous occurrences of VG-NE.   Select highlights outlined in the news released on November 17th, 2025:   Headline Drill hole # GD-25-377 intersected three separate intervals. The first being 10.25 g/t Au over 7.02 meters, within 7.16 g/t Au over 10.84 meters, within 5.20 g/t Au over 15.00 meters containing multiple occurrences of VG-NE within a zone of strong quartz-sulphide veining hosted in the Bonanza Zone that remains open. Drill hole # GD-25-332 intersected 13.38 g/t Au over 5.75 meters, including 15.83 g/t Au over 4.86 meters, including 19.87 g/t Au over 3.87 meters part of a zone of quartz-sulphide veining containing multiple occurrences of VG-NE hosted in in the Goldzilla Vein that remains open. Drill hole # GD-25-380 intersected 6.61 g/t Au over 5.80 meters, within 4.83 g/t Au over 8.00 meters from an interval corresponding to the Goldzilla Vein containing VG-NE in quartz-sulphide veins.   Roger outlines that the high-grade gold-mineralization seen in in the Reduced Intrusion Related Gold (RIRG) dyke in hole #383 is right between prior holes #237 and #226 drilled in 2023, showing the broad mineralization and good odd of continuity in the Eocene-aged mineralization.   It adds to the thesis to continue testing and drilling the many other RIRG dykes in the system.   He also points out that the high-grade gold intercepts coming from drillholes into the Bonanza Zone, (a series of stacked veins dipping to the southeast, where the sediment rock packages contact the volcanic rock packages), has been expanded this mineralization to 1.25 km along its east-west orientation. The mineralized trend still remains open for expansion to the northwest where Bonanza extends for 580 meters.  He notes that there are plenty of holes still pending to report from this year's program, and many targets to keep going after in the Bonanza Zone in next year's fully funded drill program.   Assays are still pending for 70 holes from this year's exploration campaign, of which 55 (representing 79% of the total pending) contain up to 12 occurrences of visible gold to the naked eye (VG-NE); see images in the press release from December 2nd. The first impression is hot cinnamon and cayenne mixed with earthy jalapeno, black pepper and peppermint. The second pass presents lively and herbaceous spices of green tea, basil and bay leaves. While the initial profile is all spice, there are layers of fruit and butterscotch lying in wait, especially in the mid-palate, including red fruits, blackberry, apple and sweet melon. The finish walks an endless tightrope with dry spice on one side and chewy tannins on the other.We created Batch 001 in order to demonstrate the dynamism of aged rye and shatter the misconception that rye shows its best spice profile when bottled young. That said, rye spice is a double-edged sword. The deeper we cut into the flavor opportunities, the spicier the palate. You can try to smooth the spice out with new oak or water it down through proofing. Batch 001 exemplifies the third option -- forget about making it “smooth” and instead make the whisky as robust and multifaceted as possible while finding the careful balance between astringency and tannin.

OPT: The number of international students who remained in the United States to gain practical work experience through Optional Practical Training (OPT) reached a record high of 242,782 students, an increase of 22% from the prior year.3. Disconnect Between Universities and Job Markets* Many universities are increasing enrollment in postgraduate programs, ignoring the availability of jobs in those fields.* Universities mainly focus on revenue by filling seats rather than on the actual job market conditions.* Students—both international and domestic—are graduating with high expectations of lucrative jobs that may not exist.* The gap between academic programs and industry needs is widening, leaving graduates frustrated and underpaid.4. Future Challenges for 2025 and Beyond* The large number of students graduating in 2025 will likely overwhelm the job market further, especially in fields like computer science and data analytics.* Students need to start exploring alternative career paths, upskilling in niche areas, and networking early to improve their chances of employment.* International students must also prepare for uncertainties surrounding visa rules, OPT timelines, and job search challenges.11. Call to Action for Universities* Universities must align their academic offerings with job market demands, reducing oversaturation in popular fields like computer science.* They should offer more transparent data on career outcomes, helping students make informed decisions about their education.* Career counseling, internships, and partnerships with industry leaders should be mandatory to prepare students for the job market.* Universities should also advocate for policy changes that support international students, such as extended OPT timelines or simplified visa processes.12. To achieve the correct balance, we only used two-thirds of these casks in the final blend.We designed the original blend with Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks in mind. Sherry casks are heavy-handed and prone to overwhelm meek-spirited whisky. A domineering cask requires an imperious spirit. As such, we created a deep, rich and viscous original blend with prominent orchard fruit preserves, earthy rye spice and pronounced rose blossom water top notes. We believed this foundation would handle the sweet and dry resonance of PX Sherry casks. Flavor Notes A swirling aura of fig preserves, chocolate pound cake and straight cacao waft from the glass as the first pour flows from the bottle. The nose evolves into caramel, shortbread wafer and candied apricot with coffee ice cream and chocolate covered raspberries.‍Hell Diver lands like a power chord, strumming cinnamon, dark chocolate and wood spice on the front palate. This whisky is a maelstrom of layered flavor and texture. Like the wind and the tide, the oily-sweet viscosity on the tongue merges with the crackling nutmeg spice on the roof of the palate, meeting in the middle to create a tempest of tannin, graham cracker, vanilla and allspice, all tinged a deep shade of ruby red fruit. If your palate had eyes it would see claret. The flavors coalesce, the sea calms and the finish leaves you with reverberating notes of candied dates and cloves. Why We Made This Whisky For us, Found North is an ongoing journey, an unfolding story. When we made Peregrine, we had a vision for an elegant, elevated whisky; a bird, a blend and a style that could wear the crown of the High Altitude Collection. The resulting whisky embodied the high-soaring Peregrine Falcon that reaches for the heavens.As we contemplated the next chapter in the collection, we wanted to create Peregrine's counterpart. Though the loon is a great flier, traveling upwards of 500 miles in a single day, it is known for its aquatic prowess and its eerie nighttime call that haunts the foggy northern lakes of North America. Nicknamed the Hell Diver, the Common Loon is an uncommonly heavy bird allowing it to propel itself below the water's surface. Jake and Scott sit down with the two newest Batches of the Jack Daniel's Aged Series of Tennessee Whiskey.  These include Batch 2 of the 12 Year and Batch 3 of the 10 Year.  How do they stack up and are they worth the hunt?  Find out in today's episode! The Jack Daniel Distillery recently announced the release of Batch 2 of its 12-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey and Batch 3 of its 10-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey. The expressions are the latest in the Jack Daniel's Aged Series, an annual release of age-stated expressions launched in 2021 to honor the brand's whiskey-making traditions. While batches within the Aged Series will have slight variations, the predominant notes of oak, butterscotch and tobacco can be found in each whiskey. Jack Daniel's 12-Year-Old Batch 2 has predominant notes of pipe tobacco, oak, and butterscotch, while Jack Daniel's 10-Year-Old Batch 3 is oak-forward with layers of fruit and cocoa. Both expressions were charcoal mellowed and aged in new, toasted, and charred American white oak barrels first in the upper floors of our barrelhouse before being relocated to the lower ricks to extend the maturation process. Both share the same grain bill as the classic Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey of 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye. Jack Daniel's 12-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey Batch 2 is offered at 107 proof (53.5% abv) and Jack Daniel's 10-Year-Old Tennessee Whiskey Batch 3 at 97 proof (48.5% abv). They are available in limited quantities across the United States this month in 700 mL bottles for suggested retail prices of $94.99 and $84.99, respectively.
