The 3% Rule was created by the late great Virgil Abloh. This rule applies to fashion, stating that by taking an already popular style and changing it by 3%, you've created your own different flavor with it. Now, this theory isn't 100% wrong, but you all have run with this for too long, and now the market is all messed up. There are people taking this same 3% logic and applying it to everyday life. Well, that stops NOW!Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAadPleb24WEfU3dxNmcKKWPPGbl7shfL6bJXAd3S3rHI0d2lTrV0PWO20xmvzQ_aem_6gkv5WBr9ek8MmmS1doKdA
There are two sides to every coin. This mindset helps you widen your perspective so that you won't look at things in a one-sided way. In today's episode, we will look at both sides of you releasing that song, video, movie, podcast, etc. While it is good to just drop the content, it's also good to feel good about what you're releasing. While it's good to be cautious about what you put out, it could also lead to creativity paralysis. If this isn't making sense to you now, just watch the episode... it'll click eventually. I recently discovered that I am a hater by nature. It's instinctual for me. I love to hate. I love the game. However, hatred has never gone away, especially at the stage of my life now, where I feel like I'm growing out of one stage into another. So, walk with me as I discuss my journey of hate and my current growth. Hopefully, through my words, you will receive some clarity on yourself. I mean, it's only by the grace of God we're even here right now.Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAacLLoNBDi2mZ1mRhmC7uuN3U2WcLADXEycYQk0GnfO6-zfrNKFf-2xlff67kg_aem_ZsYlIuQJBADwu22zh-njjA
Some things I really can't fathom. I can't fathom that the orange man in the White House won... again. I can't fathom Ace and Chelly not being in the finale of Love Island. I also can't fathom that you all consume some of the art that you consume. After listening to what pristine art sounds like for the last couple of days, my view on what I listen to and watch is drastically different. I have a higher level of taste, a higher sense of self, and a better understanding of the world of art. So, now I can look at certain things and say, "I can't believe you buy this".Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/ https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAadt6wBVob8szlrDeI-4tH9P1wfL5ZqB-rqWMY6iL9UVK3Eoc7y7TeIbGE6Igw_aem_T7jlcOIlK0s4bQvPiarEQA
Man, some people don't understand the price to pay for success when it doesn't come authentically. Personally, I'm not willing to pay that price. Welcome to episode 137 of the Arts Block Podcast, where today we're going to talk about purity in art. This episode is for the real artists, the ones who create from a place of love and truth. All you other guys... good luck. What you're feeling is valid, but you're going about it all wrong. There's a lot to be scared of in the world. Especially in the world we live in today. I decided to unpack some of my deepest fears regarding success and break them down in real time on the podcast. My explanation on how to conquer your fear may make sense, or it may not. I've had this idea for a long time. I just didn't know how to execute it until now. So I'm now introducing the very real (but also very fake) toll-free hotline (1)800 Art-Heals. Now, the title of this pod might throw you off, but it hurts me to say that this title should give you a subtle foreshadowing of the future. But forget about the future... what's happening today? Today, we discuss legendary music producer Timbaland and his new "AI" artist. Look at what the world has come to. After that, we're going to touch on what's been inspiring me this week, and lastly, we'll hit on how you can only control the output and not the outcome. As much as it hurts me to say this... You are now tuned into the beginning of the end.Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=657b718d-561a-4a24-a965-e53b90a062d9

One step at a time. That's the only way this thing is going to work. You cannot rush the process, you cannot rush greatness, you have to build this brick by brick. Think about the most beautiful piece of architecture that you've ever seen. Now think about how long it might've taken to build that. Do you believe that it took a day? A week? A Month? No. It probably took years of dedication and hard work. This is what brick by brick means. Moving forward and building up on brick at a time. Nathan Stacken and Travis Kriens talk the Minnesota Twins hot stretch through the month of May. Will it last? Surprises through the first third of the MLB season. The NBA Playoffs with Indiana and Oklahoma City hold 3-1 series leads in the conference finals. What future holds for the Minnesota Timberwolves after two straight conference finals.
I'm tired of saying that I'm back (even though I am). So let's just act like I've been here the whole time. Even though my being gone shaped what this entire pod and future pods will look like, let's not address the elephant in the room. Anyway, the ABP is getting back to its roots, and that's sharpening artists to be the best creatives of their ability. To be able to do that, we have to talk about Art in the Rocky Soil. If you're confused about what that means, then that means you should watch this episode. This podcast is heavily influenced by the bible (specifically Matthew 13), so if that's not your thing, it's understandable, however, I think the message still can apply. God loves you. I love you. See you next week. Sincerely, Eric Curry III#ArtistNeverDIeLinks:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaeAUfr0UV80FdWOK72lnxcNUqHjfCUAHLJVuWTzKYMF-EG4WSxcDBZk1ySujA_aem__KmhDCEy8qRQ67gxlM_ulQ

Ok so boom. This is not an official episode (you might be able to tell by the title). BUT, this was originally made as a project fro school but it was too good not to upload so.... SURPRISE!!!! We need to stop living in the past and learn how to enjoy what we have right now. Think about it. How often do you live in nostalgia? How often do you not enjoy what you have today because you're so focused on the greatness of yesterday? Appreciating what happened in the past is amazing. We're going to talk about how Druski appreciates and shows homage to the past in his TV shows. But, don't get so consumed with was was that you miss out on what is. Remember, old times don't last.Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabGF3YED4uyGsLzDMXXFuJoj6xNkIuj7h-FKBC9jKm8gflTyYN_ZQu9unQ_aem_eQNEgq3xAwJJ0MrAC_zxdQ
Do you have friends that will help you with your itchy eyes? I know this question might sound silly to some, but I believe we should be genuinely concerned about this. I think that it is important for you to have people who are in your corner no matter what. For example, when Freddie Gibbs was talking recklessly about J. Cole there was a whole fanbase there to protect and defend Cole's name. In a negative context, at Diddy's most vulnerable time, one of his lawyers filed a motion to withdraw as his lawyer. So I ask you this one more time. Do your friends help you with your itchy eyes? If not maybe you're better off scratching them yourself. "Ain't nobody coming to see you, Otis." This is what someone should've told Birdman when he was yapping at the Hot Boyz concert. Anyway, this episode will be wayyyy different from what you're used to. I know many things happened this week. Cole dropped, Diddy got dropped (iykyk ) so I'm aware of everything going on. However, that's for the Wednesday pod. Today let's just laugh, watch videos, and have some fun. Live today like it's your last, forget about the past, pour you an extra wine glass, because you get to watch the ABP today!Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabGF3YED4uyGsLzDMXXFuJoj6xNkIuj7h-FKBC9jKm8gflTyYN_ZQu9unQ_aem_eQNEgq3xAwJJ0MrAC_zxdQ

KENDRICK LAMAR!!!! Not only has he been breaking records. He has broken the ultimate record by becoming the first rapper to surpass 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Only nine artists have achieved this in history. Only 2 of them are black men. We need to celebrate this as a culture, am I right? What's a better way to do this than to celebrate during festival season? The Roots PicNic? Wireless Fest? Anyone? Just me? Ok cool. Maybe I'll just go to Renaissance pt.2... I mean the Shakira concert. Nevermind, Kendrick has been celebrated enough. Just make sure when this is all said and done, we just sing about him.Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabGF3YED4uyGsLzDMXXFuJoj6xNkIuj7h-
You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can ask anyone that has tried. Jay-Z, Scarface, Ike & Tina. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. I wish someone told that to the Kennedy Center because boyyyyy they are about to be in some trouble. Speaking of trouble, Soulja Boy is in a lot of trouble after his comments about Marlon Wayans' transgender son. Lastly, we have to talk about this Drake & PND R&B album. I'm starting to learn no matter what decision you make, you're not going to make everyone happy. So you might as well just have your cake.Link:https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabGF3YED4uyGsLzDMXXFuJoj6xNkIuj7h-FKBC9jKm8gflTyYN_ZQu9unQ_aem_eQNEgq3xAwJJ0MrAC_zxdQ

The NBA at the All-Star break. The week that was in College Basketball with No. 1 Auburn and No. 2 Alabama facing off on Saturday.
"The revolution bout to be televised, you picked the right time, but the WRONG GUY." A lot of people think that the NFL and Roc Nation had picked the wrong guy to do the halftime show. A lot of people are ranking this as one of the WORST halftime performances of all time. Well, let me tell you why this is actually one of the best of all time. This performance wasn't what we wanted it to be, it's what they needed it to be. Let me tall y'all why they might have actually picked "The Wrong Guy".Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabGF3YED4uyGsLzDMXXFuJoj6xNkIuj7h-FKBC9jKm8gflTyYN_ZQu9unQ_aem_eQNEgq3xAwJJ0MrAC_zxdQ
When life gives you lemons... sometimes you have to throw them back. Just like I'm going to throw Kanye back to where he was before he got back on Twitter. Whoever his PR team is, is working overtime... or maybe they're fired... who knows. Also, when life gives you lemons (depending on what you do with them), you don't leave out of the situation the same. There's something different about you before adversity hit and after you went through adversity. Lastly, when life gives you lemons... You have to make the best out of it. So make sure when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabGF3YED4uyGsLzDMXXFuJoj6xNkIuj7h-FKBC9jKm8gflTyYN_ZQu9unQ_aem_eQNEgq3xAwJJ0MrAC_zxdQ
We have a lot to talk about, especially after the Grammys on Sunday night. Kendrick did his sweep in a Canadian Tux. Beyonce finally gets her album of the year, and Doechii shows us (once again) that she is the star of the future. But we do have to touch on some... other things. Like Kanye and his wife. If you don't know what I am referring to, don't worry; we'll talk about it. Also, we're going to talk about this new Drake and PND album. And how no matter how much you shoot someone of his stature down... No One Ever Really Dies. Happy my people built this country month! I wanted to start the month by saying, "Sue me, I'm rooting for everybody that's black." Now that we got that out of the way let's get down to business. Prayers and condolences to everyone who the recent plane crashes have impacted. Secondly, why is everyone so invested in my love life? First, my boss, then the lady at my front door, why are we so worried about Eric's love life? Lastly, the most ironic thing that could ever happen happened. TDE is being accused of sexual harassment. This has been a long week, and I am very tired. So if this pod sounds all over the place then oh well. What are you gonna do, sue me? I'm not going to lie... I'm not talking about anything on this pod. This is just hot wind blowing, meaning I'm just talking mess. We're going to touch on a little bit of everything. We will talk about my vulnerability on the pod and why I am so vulnerable on here. I'm going to mention how I struggle with being optimistic. Also, I'm going to drop some gems here and there as well. I hope y'all enjoy this pod because I definetly did. This is how hot wind blows. Links: https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/ https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/ https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock
Here's another creative way for me to say that I am talking about literally nothing on this pod today. EXCEPT. We are going to touch on the DJ Akademics drama just a little bit. Besides that, this is going to be a normal pod. We're going to talk about how I don't think being a "boring" artist is productive and how as a young artist, we shouldn't know peace (I know that sounds extreme, just bear with me). But honestly, this is another pod about nothing. So sit back, relax, and enjoy! Links: https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/ https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/ https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock

I'M BACK!!!!! This is time I feel different. This feels different. The Arts Block podcast is going to be different. I can't get into why I was gone because that takes the fun out of you listening to the episode, but I will say this. I NEED HELP. I've been doing this podcast alone for too long. So, if you think you can be of any assistance in... Editing Promotion Community Outreach Marketing and more... please let me know. See y'all on Sunday. This is going to be my last pod... for like a week. Ha! I got you, didn't I? I'm not podding next week because I need time to relax before the semester starts. This is a privilege that I have because I control my schedule when it comes to podding. However, many people don't have this privilege like Drake, Ray Vaughn, and even Rolling Stone. I guess you can say that I'm a privileged podder. Links: https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/ https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/ https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock
Where have we lost the plot? We used to be people who celebrated decorum and respect. Now, all that happens is tomfoolery and disrespect. "Eric, what are you talking about?" Let me enlighten you. Doechii is receiving new hate for God knows what reason. LiAngelo Ball is releasing music. Lastly, Lil Tjay & Fivio Foreign don't have basic house manners. There are only 2 things that will help with all of this. 1. Tuning into the Arts Block Podcast 2. Home training Links: https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/ https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/ https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock
I'm finally in the year 2025. Boy, is this year a doozy? This episode will be a long letter on how this year opened up for me. This year might be where my boldness leads me to new opportunities or relationships. Either that or I will lose a friend for life... we'll have to see how this plays out. We will talk about how Conductor Williams has been a problem in Hip-Hop since the start of the year and how Drake and Lebron might have problems of their own. Lastly, we'll talk about the problem we artists have with the internet. A lot of problems and only one thing to do about it. Listen to the ABP. "I ain't no perfect man, I'm tryna do the best that I can, with what it is I have." Yasin Bey couldn't have worded this better. However, I noticed something about people when it's time to go into the new year. Instead of doing the best that they can now, they wait until January 1st. What if I told you that waiting for the 1st is going to set you back in the year not propet you forward? Would you be more specific in your goal making? Will you have more urgency to get the goals you have set done? Will you even set goals? I guess we'll never know. This is the last podcast of 2024. What a road and a journey it has been. This podcast is going to be filled with a lot of honesty and self-reflection. We're still going to have fun and we're still going to talk a lot of sh!t. However, if you're not ready to self-reflect, this pod isn't for you. If you don't want to elevate and make this next year the best year of your life, then this pod isn't for you. Now that we got that out the way tune in to know what to do when the ball drops.
