Voluntary assisted dying is now legal in Australia, after NSW passed laws earlier this week. There are some differences between states; NSW has a different cooling off period, and allows the patient to choose whether the life-ending drug should be delivered by a medical professional even if they have the ability to self-administer. In this episode of The Briefing Tom Tilley speaks with David Springer who had to take his brother to Switzerland to die about what he thinks of the new laws, and Linda Swan from Go Gentle. On May 4th, 2017 the news of Father David Springer's passing swept through the community. In this episode of The Maiden, Mother, and Crone Podcast, Aradia and Sylveey will be remembering Father David. One year ago today, the ladies sat down with the Druid and had a chat which was recorded. For a year it has sat waiting to be listened to but finding a place to put it proved challenging. Now they know the time to share it is now. Please join us in remembering Father David as we play the interview and listen to music. Just a reminder that we will not be taking any live calls as the interview is pre-recorded. Rest In Peace, David.

Episode 39: In this episode of the social work podcast, I continue my conversation with author Dr. Allen Rubin. We talked about how he came to co-author Research Methods for Social Work (the most widely used social work research text) and his most recent text - Practitioner's Guide to Using Research for Evidence-Based Practice. We talked about one of his current research projects - the development of a scale that can be used to evaluate how well social workers are learning evidence-based practice. We ended our conversation with Allen talking about a series of books he is co-editing with David Springer that will have practical "how-to" chapters on evidence-based approaches to today's most important clinical issues. Dr. Rubin can be heard talking about research for social work practitioners [Episode 37] and advice for young social work investigators [Episode 38] at the Social Work Podcast: http://socialworkpodcast.com.
