Love God; Love people. Explore how this passage speaks to us in the summer of 2020. Matthew 22:34-40 34-36 When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: “Teacher, which command in God’s Law is the most important?” 37-40 Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.”

There’s something Christians do that is not biblical but it is destructive. I’m not going to quote scripture but I think intuitively, Christian or not, you will know that it’s just not right. I see it. I hear it. And I'm embarrassed to say, I’ve done it. Here it is: We think or we say, "How can so & so be a Christian when he or she ___" fill in the blank: Gossips, gets angry, parties, smokes, had an affair, had an abortion, has an addiction. I have a chat today that will change your life. If you are not a Christian, if you have been judged by Christians, if you are a Christian who judges or who has been judged, this story is for you! It’s one of mistakes, consequences, overcoming, transparency, touching people’s lives, and love. I have a very special guest today, my pastor, Dan Smith. I'm so excited for you to hear his message: Whatever your weak spot, you are loved and you can heal! (Show notes at http://bit.ly/32GGDAgCYH40)
