In this episode, we dive into what it truly means to be an Easter People—those who live in the light of Christ's resurrection with joy, confidence, and freedom.Drawing from Henri Nouwen's Return of the Prodigal Son, we explore how many of us walk through life with a quiet sense of unworthiness, carrying low self-esteem instead of embracing the truth that we are deeply loved and fully redeemed. Easter isn't just a day—it's a way of life. And in that life, we're not called to grovel, but to rejoice.Let this episode lift your spirit and remind you: You are a beloved child of God, and the victory has already been won.

Alleluia! He is risen! - Easter is the Church's rejoicing season. It is a fifty-day feast devoted to celebrating Jesus' Resurrection and the ultimate restoration of all things. Through the visions in the book of Revelation, we are reminded that the Kingdom of Heaven is not a long way off but all around us. Even while we experience hardship, pain, and disappointment, we can know that the victory of Jesus over Death is coming to bear through the work of the Church on earth as it is in heaven. Our joy comes from knowing Christ is risen, and Death is defeated. "We are an Easter People, and Alleluia is our song!"Listen as pastors Kris McDaniel and Adrienne Christian discuss Jesus' resurrection and ways to engage the season of Easter.Learn more at atltrinity.org.

There's a huge difference and seeing something with your own eyes and then hearing it from somebody else. Can you imagine what it must of been like to walk and talk with Jesus while he lived on this earth? We can learn a lot from the people that had a front row seat to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In our new series, we will see what we can learn from these "Easter people."

· Philippians 4:4 – Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, Rejoice! · Why should I choose joy? · Choose joy because God gives you hope. · Do people today think they can manipulate God? · They realized they had blown their relationship with God. · Do you ever think “I've blown my relationship with God?” · Isaiah 35:1-2 – 1The wilderness and the desert rejoice; the steppe rejoices and the saffron blooms. 2She blooms and rejoices; Yea, joy and cries of joy. The glory of Lebanon is given to her, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. Behold they see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. · God does not give up on you. · 3All of you make strong discouraged hands and make firm knees that stumble. · Romans 8:28 – For we know that God is working good in all things for those who love him and are called according to his purpose. · Heavenly Father, open my eyes. Help me see where you are at work. · 4Say to the hurried heart, “All of you, be strong and do not fear. Behold your God; vengeance comes. God brings ‘the getting even;' and he saves you all. · 5Then the eyes of the blind will be open; and the ears of the deaf will be open. 6Then the lame ram will leap and the speechless tongue will cry out. For water will burst forth in the wilderness, and torrents on the desert plains. 7The parched ground will be a pool; the thirsty ground as a pool of water. In the jackal habitat, a resting place, a home for reeds and rushes. · We are the Easter People! · God is the God of the unexpected. · 8And there will be a highway and a way, the way of the Holy, those called to it. The unclean will not pass over it. He is to them walker of the way and the foolish will not wander on it. 9There will be no lions there and no hungry beasts will come upon it; They will not be found there, but the redeemed ones will walk. · Psalm 14:1 – The fool has said in his heart, “There is no god…” · 10And the ransomed ones of the LORD return; And they come to Zion with ringing cries. · And eternal joy is upon their heads. Exuberance and joy they attain. And they escape grief and groaning. · Revelation 21:2-4 - And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven, like a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling of God is with me. He will dwell with them and they shall be his people and God himself will be with them; he will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. · Do you need some hope today? Our Heavenly Father has all you need. LIFE GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS Starter: Think about a time when you desperately needed hope. How did you find it? Discussion: 1. Read Isaiah 35:1-2 2. Imagine you are in exile in a foreign country. What emotion would you feel as you hear these words? 3. Throughout this passage, God is making dead space alive. For example, the desert gushes water and it rejoices. What are modern dead spaces? How does God make them alive. 4. Read Isaiah 35:3-7 5. The prophet brings a message of hope to the exiles. How can Jesus followers today bring a message of hope? 6. What is your reaction to God claiming vengeance as his business? How does that make you feel? 7. Read Isaiah 35:8-9 and Matthew 7:13-14. 8. In your opinion, what are the parallels between these two passages? 9. Read Isaiah 35:10 and Revelation 21:2-4 10. What do you think will be your reaction to when you enter heaven? How does this help you live with hope?

Kenny and Mike discuss Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Tim Burton's sequel to his 1988 classic horror conference Beetlejuice. Michael Keaton returns as Betelgeuse, the bio-exorcist along with Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara who reprise their roles as Lydia and Delia Deitz. Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Willem Dafoe and Monica Bellucci join the cast as Betelgeuse continues his pursuite of Lydia while avoiding his recently reconnected and now murderous ex-wife Delores (Monica Bellucci.) Kenny also shares some of his experiences at the Venice Film Festival where Beetlejuice Beetlejuice had its world premiere in late August, 2024. Faith Spotted: As persons of faith we believe in the promise of new life that is available through grace by faith. Through God's forgiveness we are not bound by the mistakes we make, have made or by our background. As Easter people we believe in restoration and that our true identity is as a beloved child of God. We should not label others or accept the labels others have toward us. The resurrection hope and promise of new life and is not limited to that which we receive in full after we die, but is available in our life and time here. Faith Spotted II: (Faith issues not mentioned in the podcast.) The Struggles of both Lydia, and Delia, as well perhaps as Betelgeuse, have by not working through past failure, pain, and loss in life. Though painful, it is in facing, and doing, the grief work and process that we are able to move beyond mourning, pain and loss, and begin the new normal life that God desires for us. As persons of faith we are called to live and be in the moments of life, whether difficult, exciting, or routine. Each day is a gift and even in the midst of pain or routine, evidence of God's presence and grace abound and offer joy. Venice Film Festival Photos:
Pentecost SundayWith today's feast the Easter Season now draws to a close, and the Easter candle will be extinguished, but we should not think of Pentecost as simply marking an end to our extended Easter festivities. It is also the beginning of something new for us. What is repentance? Repentance is a u-turn, a change of heart. You admit your sin openly without cutting corners or blaming. You are sorry, but instead of trying to be your own savior, you trust in Jesus! You believe you're saved by His finish work and try to change your sinful ways. Listen to these verses from Hosea 13:14 as we hear the prophet Hosea talking to the people of Isreal. God bless your time in the Word! Father shows us that our identity is in Easter, which we celebrate every Sunday.
Easter People = Sheep. More specifically, Easter people = sheep that trust their good shepherd. Sheep don't have smarts, speed, camouflage, or fangs. The only thing they can do is flock together and that's only beneficially if their sheep with a good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep. What goes into creating a foundation? When you're pouring a foundation for an earthy structure, it takes quite a few people. We recently had foundation poured at our church for our ministry expansion and it took many, many hands! Way to many people to count in order to pour the foundation just as it was supposed to be. However, when you're talking about the foundation of the soul, it's easy to count how many people it takes! Just one. Jesus Christ! Join us for today's devotion as we look at Acts 4:12 and find peace in building a faithful, firm foundation. God bless your time in the Word! Episode Notes Continuing in our Legacy series, we look at how believing in a future resurrection should affect how we live our lives in the present. Answering questions like: Does our work matter? And should we bother taking care of the environment if the earth is going to be destroyed one day?

If we're going to be spending eternity together, we may as well start getting along now! You might have heard that motto from christians. People who know they're going to heaven because of the finished work of Christ. When you have that truth in your heart it makes all the difference in the world with how you treat people. Today we're going to look at Acts 4:32-34a and how the christians at that time treated one another. God bless your time in the Word!
