Tired of feeling stuck while life passes you by? Ready to stop wondering “what if” and step into what's next? In our new series, Elisha, we'll see what happens when we leave comfort behind and pursue our true purpose.
Fly Fishing the Green River Below Fontenelle Dam: Episode 171 – May 21, 2026 Our destination is the Green River below Fontenelle Dam — perhaps the last major undiscovered trophy trout stream in the lower 48 states. Tucked inside the Seedskiddie National Wildlife Refuge in the middle of Wyoming's Red Desert, this high desert tailwater is a lush ribbon of life most traveling anglers have never heard of — and that's exactly the point. Today we sit down with Van Beacham, fourth-generation fly fisherman, author of Fly Fisher's Guide to New Mexico, and owner of The Solitary Angler, who has been quietly fishing and guiding this river since the 1980s. With huge biomass and 18"+ rainbows and browns as the standard, this is a trophy fishery — not a numbers river. Van breaks down why it stays uncrowded, what it takes to unlock the river's big fish, and why the solitude here rivals anything in the American West. In this episode: Why the Green River below Fontenelle Dam is the lower 48's best-kept secret Fish species: rainbows, browns, Bonneville and Snake River cutthroats The nymphing rig Van relies on — crayfish pattern, San Juan worm, and small mayflies Managing the notorious weed problem in July and August How Van built The Solitary Angler's private-water club model on Hams Fork, Smiths Fork, and Fontenelle Creek Wildlife: trumpeter swans, moose, bald eagles, and antelope in the Seedskiddie Refuge The river's deep history — Oregon Trail, mountain man rendezvous, and Jim Bridger's Fort Whether you're planning a Wyoming trip or just dreaming of uncrowded water with legitimate trophy fish, Van delivers the local knowledge you need before you go. Inside is comfortable - inside a house, inside a family, inside a routine - but what if we widen our view beyond the fence and across the street? Matthew 22:39 tells us to "love your neighbor as you love yourself." The question is- who is your neighbor? It's not just the person to the left or right of our house; or upstairs or downstairs in our building. Our neighbor can be the barista at the coffee shop or the cashier at the grocery store. What would it look like to LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR? As the world grows more connected, our neighbors are closer than ever. You might not share a fence, but you can still share their burdens and joys.

Today, we embark on a brand NEW year that has never been lived before! A fresh start on this life the Lord has blessed us with on earth. What will you do with it? Will it be any different than last year? Here are a few things that will make this year one of your BEST YEARS EVER-1. Being in Gods Word everyday!2. Surrounding yourself with a community that pushes you towards Jesus!3. Forgiving others just like Jesus forgave you! Don't start the year carrying that weight. 4. Go to church in the building! I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”Revelation 21:5“Behold, I am making all things new.” Lamentations 3:22-23“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”Romans 6:4“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, justas Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

At Hope Church part of our Hope Culture is that we believe in ABUNDANCE, not just enough. We are GENEROUS, because God modeled ultimate GENEROSITY by giving His son for us. We don't HAVE to be generous, but we GET to be generous!

In the Bible, the number 10 symbolizes completeness, divine order, and human responsibility. It represents the fullness of God's law and His perfect plan, most clearly seen in the Ten Commandments. The number also reminds us of God's authority over creation and His rightful rule in our lives.10 is about making time and space for God to move. Have you ever set aside intentional time and a specific place to simply ask God to move? This month, that's exactly what we're doing—creating space and time for God to work in our lives, our church, and our community.

When you think of someone far from God, who's the first person who comes to mind? Is it a neighbor? Coworker? Parent? No matter who it is, God can use you to reach them. What if we all committed to praying for, and inviting at least ONE person over the next 5 weeks to come to church with you? Think of how many people could have a chance at experiencing the HOPE that we have in Jesus.

The book of Psalms reminds us that worship is meant to be at the center of our lives. While many speak about God in the third person, the Psalms invite us to speak directly to Him—with honesty and vulnerability. They are filled with expressions of praise, worship, repentance, frustration, longing, and more—raw emotions poured out from the heart to God.
