Central Esports #51: SK no Eleague Major e a primeira semana do CBLoL by ESPN Brasil

In this, the first episode of Esports Unearthed. We sit down with Paris 'Nova' Larking a former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional player from Canberra, Australia.  We talk about the Growth of Esports in Australia, Finding time to play professionally in the Esports World and how the Oceania scene has changed. We also look forward to this weekend's playoff stage at the Eleague Major in Boston. 

As is par for the course, the first few months of 2018 are absolutely loaded for the team at Turner Sports. There's NBA All-Star Game, March Madness, and the NBA Playoffs that all put the network on center stage. Plus, later this month, the network is set up to produce its biggest esports event to date with the ELEAGUE Major in Boston. Our Chief Editor Jason Dachman caught up with Craig Barry, EVP, Production and Chief Content Officer at Turner Sports on the floor of the CES Show in Las Vegas last week to discuss everything from what innovations are coming from esports production, what's to come from Turner's UEFA Champions League deal that kicks off later this summer, and how the network takes a, at times, unique approach in its programming. Jason also gives us a quick download on all of the big sports happenings from this year's CES show and explains how Voice, AI, and more could be shaping sports video production in the very near future. Momentan läuft das ELEAGUE Major in Atlanta für Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Neben BIG, welches an diesem Wochenende spielt,  hielt auch das neue Team Sprout die deutsche Fahne hoch. Zwar hat es für ein Weiterkommen nicht gereicht, dennoch wollen wir uns das Potential der Organisation heute einmal anschauen. Von Iguana zu Schalke zu Sprout Vor diesem Hintergrund freuen wir uns, heute wieder einmal Chris “Patox“ Gellner im Podcast begrüßen zu dürfen. Chris ist mittlerweile Stammgast bei uns im Esport-Talk und berichtet immer wieder von seiner Entwicklung in der Szene. Seiner Zeit gründete der junge Mann vom Jahrgang 1996 das Team Iguana Esports in League of Legends, welches auch eine ESL Meisterschaft gewann. Danach folgte ein kurzer Aufenthalt bei Alternate aTTaX , bevor er zu dem viel beachteten Team von Schalke 04 wechselte. Beim Bundesligisten sah es zunächst so aus, als würde niemand das LoL-Team schlagen können, sodass es sich ohne Probleme für die LCS qualifizieren würde. Nach einer ungeschlagenen Saison wurde das Team jedoch übermütig, erinnert sich Chris, und bereitete sich kaum auf die letzte Hürde, die Mysterious Monkey vor. Diese besiegten Schalke dann auch mit einer schallernden Ohrfeige, da sie sich exzellent auf den Favoriten vorbereiteten. Dies brachte weitere Entwicklungen ins Laufen, die mit Patox‘ Engagement bei Caseking und Sprout endeten. Auf zu neuen Ufern Schalke musste aus der Niederlage, die dem Verein eine LCS-Teilnahme Konsequenzen ziehen. Ganz in Bundesliga-Manier wurde Chris als Hauptverantwortlicher schließlich aus den Diensten der Knappen entlassen – die Differenzen zwischen ihm und dem Verein waren nicht zu überbrücken. O programa começa com o Giro de Notícias focado em League of Legends. Primeiro, fazemos um resumo das acusações de aliciamento em relação ao Flamengo. Uma apuração da nossa redação descobriu que uma denúncia foi aberta contra o Rubro-Negro por tentativa de aliciamento de jogadores do CBLoL para seu time do Circuito Desafiante. Em seguida, indo para os Estados Unidos, comentamos o novo sistema de franquia da liga norte-americana da Riot Games, que aparentemente já teve escolhido seus 10 times participantes. A polêmica fica por conta de algumas equipes que tiveram suas inscrições recusadas, como a Immortals e a Team Dignitas. Voltando para o Brasil, ao que tudo indica o Flamengo não será o único clube de futebol investindo no League of Legends em 2018. Um vídeo publicado pela Red Canids indica uma possível parceria com o Corinthians, com novidades a serem reveladas em 5 de novembro, dia de jogo entre o Timão e o Palmeiras. No Momento Clutch, a bomba da semana foi a rápida e inesperada saída de João "felps"" Vasconcellos da SK Gaming. O jogador será substituído por Ricardo "boltz" Prass em alguns campeonatos, como o Epicenter que está rolando esta semana, mas a SK terá que jogar com felps ou um substituto em torneios que boltz não poderá participar, como o Eleague Major. Ainda em Counter-Strike, a Tempo Storm não teve uma boa campanha na DreamHack Denver e acabou eliminada logo cedo na competição. A grande vencedora do torneio foi a Cloud9. Finalizando com o Foca o Nexus, fazemos aquele resumão esperto das quartas de final do Mundial e voltamos ao CBLoL para contar as últimas novidades da dança das cadeiras.
