Sermon Audio from December 31, 2025 (New Year's Eve) on Luke 12:35-40
Today, on the C-Suite for Christ Podcast, we sound the spiritual alarm: “Keep your lamps lit!”—because darkness is sprinting, comfort is killing vigilance, and the Bridegroom is coming.Paul M. Neuberger leads the charge, calling out comfort, compromise, and cancel culture infecting boardrooms and sanctuaries alike. Ten virgins, one Bridegroom, a midnight reckoning—some were ready, most were not. In a world addicted to ease and entertainment, will you build a business and lose your soul, chase success but miss holiness, plan for retirement but forget eternity? This episode pulls no punches. The stakes are sky-high: lukewarm faith, cultural conformity, spiritual sleepwalking. Jesus is still Lord. The world may demand silence, but now is the hour to shine, to stand, to burn. What will YOU do when spiritual midnight strikes? Buckle up. This one's raw, real, and rooted in Matthew 25."In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." –Matthew 5:16Episode Highlights:05:56 – Keeping your lamp lit isn't a poetic idea, a cute Christian slogan, or a soft spiritual encouragement. It's a command. It's a lifestyle. It's a battle stance. And it represents the difference between those who endure and those who fall away, those who overcome and those who collapse, those who walk in the light and those swallowed up by the darkness.13:07 – And when Christ returns, he isn't coming back for a lukewarm, apathetic, half awake people. He's coming for those whose lamps burn fiercely through the darkness. Darkness, no matter the cost. When Jesus delivered the parable of the ten virgins, he wasn't warning about minor inconveniences or small spiritual setbacks. He was describing catastrophic consequences. The kind that determine eternal destiny. The kind that destroy families, the kind that end ministries. And the kind that leave believers blindsided in the moment that they least expect it. An unlit lamp is not just a dim spiritual life. It's a dangerous spiritual life. It's a life vulnerable to deception, seduction, confusion and collapse. It's a life without discernment, without spiritual power, without clarity. When the lamp goes out, so does the ability to recognize truth from lies, conviction from emotion, God's voice from the world's noise.22:42 – And nothing threatens compliance more than a believer whose lamp burns without apology. Why does the world want your lamp extinguished? Because a lit lamp reveals the emptiness of their definitions of identity. Because a lit lamp exposes the foolishness of their arguments. Because a lit lamp confronts the lies they want normalized.Connect with Paul M. NeubergerWebsite

There was no more feared boxer than George Foreman in his prime. Tough, strong, mean, talented, smart… George had it all and was at the top of his game as heavyweight champ until October 30, 1974 when he lost to Muhammad Ali in the Rumble in the Jungle. Now a year later, Big George is on the cover of Sports Illustrated, wanting another shot at Ali for “his title.” The fight never took place. And in 1977, George retired from boxing. And that set up one of the greatest 2nd acts in the history of the sport. 10 years later, a 38-year old George came out of retirement and got back into the ring. He kept at it, and finally, on November 5, 1995 in the 10th round against heavyweight champion Michael Moorer, George caught him, knocked him out and was once again the heavyweight champion of the world at the age of 45. On the mic calling that fight was a colleague of George's who had known Foreman for years. Jim Lampley had been around almost as long as Foreman, starting his incredible broadcasting career the same year George and Ali hooked up in Zaire. Now in the prime of his own boxing career at HBO, Lamps was the voice of a generation, especially for those who loved the sweet science. He had asked George how he planned to beat a much younger Moorer and George told him what was going to take place. And when it unfolded exactly how George had said it would, Lampley exclaimed, It Happened, It Happened… his famous four word account of George Foreman recapturing the belt he had lost over 20 years ago to his nemesis Ali. Jim Lampley joins us on the Past Our Prime podcast to talk about his start in the business as a 24-year old kid for ABC Sports. His rise in the industry and how he won over the trust of Foreman as a broadcasting partner, and eventually an equal and… a friend. He talks about the sudden passing of the champ and how that still moves him to tears and about the transformation George had from angry, intimidating, brute to the lovable, jovial gentle giant we all came to embrace during George's successful Act Two. And Lampley tells a story about George and Bob Dylan that lets you get behind the curtain and see a different side of George altogether. It's a great talk with a man who has been in the broadcasting business for 50 years and seen some of the greatest fights of the last 50 years. The author of the book, “It Happened, A Uniquely Lucky Life in Sports Television,” Jim Lampley on the Past Our Prime podcast. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

A pair of Tiffany lamps go missing years after appearing on GBH's Antiques Roadshow. Just how far would someone go to get their hands on these lamps? And just how far would someone else go to get them back? DETOURS host Adam Monahan talks to those close to the story including the private investigator who ultimately cracked the case.
Neil Briscoe, motoring journalist with the Irish Times and completecar.ie
In her new picture book, Sandra Nickel reveals the true genius behind the iconic Tiffany stained glass lamp designs: Clara Driscoll, an Ohio-born artist who managed the “Tiffany Girls” in Louis Comfort Tiffany's studio in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. While Driscoll's contributions went unrecognized for decades, we now know she was the artist behind the gorgeous dragonfly, wisteria, poppy, daffodil, and peony lampshade designs, among many others. Nickel shares Driscoll's story in Making Light Bloom: Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Lamps alongside the luminous illustrations by Julie Paschkis. Brad Adams — LAMPS (Los Angeles Psychedelic Society) joins Kyle to trace his path from PhD researcher to community builder. Brad shares how early work in AIDS, Alzheimer's, gerontology, and cancer research primed him to notice Harbor-UCLA's psilocybin pilot for stage-4 cancer patients with death anxiety—where the strongest mystical experiences correlated with profound death acceptance. Teaming with Dennis McKenna, he ran an ayahuasca pilot in Peru and presented findings at Psychedelic Science 2017. From there, Brad founded LAMPS: first as research meetups at UCLA, then as a thriving hub hosting speakers and, ultimately, an L.A. psychedelic conference. He previews the November 1 event at Above the Block in West L.A.: daytime panels on cannabis, preparation/integration, and music & psychedelics; a vendor hall; and a “Healing Lounge” with bodywork, astrology, human design, and more—closing with a late-night dance party featuring David Starfire. Brad offers grounded advice for starting local communities (begin small, meet regularly, curate safe dialogue, and moderate firmly), and reflects on platform friction around psychedelics. The conversation widens to DMTx (extended-state DMT), entity encounters, and what humble, relational curiosity can reveal—then to Wetiko, IFS, and the hero's journey as frames for keeping hope alive in turbulent times. A candid and practical tour of research, resilience, and real-world community building.

What if the greatest danger for Christians today is thinking we're prepared for eternity, while living on half-full lamps? In this episode, Heather reveals the hidden truth in Jesus' parable of the ten virgins: all ten had oil, but only five had enough to enter the marriage supper of the Lamb. She unpacks what this means for us now, why simply saying “I believe” falls short, and why God is looking for those who answer His call with a wholehearted “Here I am.” Through biblical examples and sobering insights, Heather exposes how lukewarm teachings have misled many into thinking partial obedience is enough. She emphasizes that true faith is proven by action, that sanctification is not optional but necessary, and that the fear of the Lord anchors us in daily submission. This conversation will challenge you to count the cost of discipleship, lay down your own desires, and embrace sacrificial service to others. Above all, it calls us to examine whether our lives reflect the oil of obedience—or risk being shut out of heaven's door. The era of making AI smarter just by making it bigger is ending. But that doesn't mean progress is slowing down — far from it. AI models continue to get much more powerful, just using very different methods, and those underlying technical changes force a big rethink of what coming years will look like.Toby Ord — Oxford philosopher and bestselling author of The Precipice — has been tracking these shifts and mapping out the implications both for governments and our lives.Links to learn more, video, highlights, and full transcript: https://80k.info/to25As he explains, until recently anyone can access the best AI in the world “for less than the price of a can of Coke.” But unfortunately, that's over. What changed? AI companies first made models smarter by throwing a million times as much computing power at them during training, to make them better at predicting the next word. But with high quality data drying up, that approach petered out in 2024.So they pivoted to something radically different: instead of training smarter models, they're giving existing models dramatically more time to think — leading to the rise in “reasoning models” that are at the frontier today. The results are impressive but this extra computing time comes at a cost: OpenAI's o3 reasoning model achieved stunning results on a famous AI test by writing an Encyclopedia Britannica's worth of reasoning to solve individual problems at a cost of over $1,000 per question. This isn't just technical trivia: if this improvement method sticks, it will change much about how the AI revolution plays out, starting with the fact that we can expect the rich and powerful to get access to the best AI models well before the rest of us.Toby and host Rob discuss the implications of all that, plus the return of reinforcement learning (and resulting increase in deception), and Toby's commitment to clarifying the misleading graphs coming out of AI companies — to separate the snake oil and fads from the reality of what's likely a "transformative moment in human history."Recorded on May 23, 2025.Chapters:Cold open (00:00:00)Toby Ord is back — for a 4th time!
